An epic adventure set in the last Ice Age. Europe, 20,000 years ago. While on his first hunt with his tribe’s most elite group, a young man is injured and left for dead. Awakening to find himself broken and alone -- he must learn to survive and navigate the harsh and unforgiving wilderness. Reluctantly taming a lone wolf abandoned by its pack, the pair learn to rely on each other and become unlikely allies, enduring countless dangers and overwhelming odds in order to find their way home before the deadly winter arrives.
Directed By: Albert Hughes Развлечения
I cried so hard during this movie because I watched it 1 week after I got my service dog in training and he was only 10 weeks old then. Watching this movie and seeing how they saved each other warmed my heart because it reminds me of how my dog saves my life almost every day and gives me the freedom to live an independent life, He now attends school with me and goes everywhere with me he has grown up so much and turns one year old in one month and I can't believe how much he has grown. I am so thankful for him and the bond that we have it feels like it's unbreakable so thank you Nahko for being my Alpha
Avanii well Said👍🏻
Avanii that’s amazing having your best friend and a life saver everywhere you go
Bless you and him 🐕
Im literally crying of joy because of u
Avanii, that brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for the lovely story.
A big-budget, original, bold, risk-taking film that is not a sequel, prequel, spin-off which actually looks promising and good? Take my money!
best comment
I'd say this is a prequel, but let's see.
a prequel to which film?

and not a superhero movie

The quality and detail of this film is spectacular. The scenes they put in of the skies is just amazingly breathtaking. Who agrees?
Olá.
Yep plus the background sounds is soothing. Like it’s perfectly suits meditation sound. It’s so calm and nostalgic.
hehehe maybe you should go outside and look at the real night sky dude. This film ha no root in any reality at all
It’s cosmic
The scenery is astounding
Jan Sveen actually the looks jus like dat where I’m from only in Septemberish tho
The final scene with the hunters' silhouette with a wolf in their side is my favorite. I almost hear myself saying "no species on earth can survive this alliance"

LMAO!!!! Also the first belly rub in history.
Really good joke... LoL
This is the best movie I have seen in recent years. I hope Sony makes a sequel or more of the similar variety.
Great movie! Beautiful cinematography. A very strange story of adventure & survival, in a very primitive time. The movie really immerses you in in the story. I think the trailer is actually underselling it. You won't be disappointed. This movie is really worth watching!
Joseph J. McAllister I was watching part of this movie on a plane flight and couldn’t even hear any audio for the movie, only subtitles, and was still completely immersed
Honestly what bothered me the most was the cinematography. It is said to take place in Europe and you see northern lights, hence it can only take place in the northern parts of Scandinavia. But the wild life does not at all fit with Scandinavia which also much of the cinematography also doesn't. We see hyenas, a lion, abrupt ended tall cliffs, a dried out tree that can only be found in Americas, etc.
Also the climate as well as the cinematography was not consistent at all.
Would have been nice if it was actually noticeable how he would travel away from the cold north when the winter period came, but rather it seemed he travelled into it.
@@sebastianwallin3726 Those are not cinematography issues, those are story or directing issues. Though Im pretty sure that lions and hyenas were found in Europe in the Upper Paleolithic/Pleistocene, there was also a European Bison. And if it's during an ice age, it might seem winter all over Europe. The same places were extremely different then as compared to even the Bronze Age 5,300 yrs ago, nevermind now.
Just finished watching this movie with my fam and I must say, I loved every bit of it.
It was a roller coaster ride for me.
The big reveal at the end was a good surprise. 10/10 🥰

Can’t imagine how did those majestic creatures become pugs and chihuahuas :v
handel1111 That is the hypothesis that never get's confirmed. Wolfs don't lose their basic instinct. They perform tests all the time in labs.
>
The only way to domesticate an wild wolf is to cross it with another domestic dog, and keep crossing it with other domestic dogs. That's the only way.
Wolves didn’t become dogs. Lupines and canines are not the same. We still have fricking wolves. They’re just being hunted and killed. Also what do you have against pugs 😭
@@saitamatrash2527 pugs have a genetic deformity which you people call a punch face. it results in difficulty in breathing . also that is why the snore so cutely
There is no evolutionary path from wolves to pugs or chihuahuas without humans. Dogs and cats that have to have their eyes cleaned every day or with short stumpy legs that can't run fast to catch prey or avoid being prey would all be toast if it wasn't for us humans to make these "cute" breeds. I feel sorry for some of these breeds and some of the problems faced with inbreeding.
Evolution in action.
I watched this in theatres with my Service Dog. Usually he'll just snooze during movies but he seemed just as invested in this movie as I was. It's one of my favorites and I love to watch it with him.
As an admirer of movies for nearly seventy years I enjoyed Alpha. I thought language belonged to old Scandinavian but I learned that it was fictional. This increased value of the film.
Just saw it in theater and I highly highly recommend it! The entire movie was very realistic and intense, it has become one of my newer favorites!
Sophie Wang I just saw it to such a good movie
Sophie Wang does any character die at end if yes i dont watch
I saw it in IMAX 3D, and I agree. I think the creative aspect I admired the most was the fact that there was no English dialogue throughout the entire movie.
TOP RATED Since you don’t mind spoilers, then no, no main characters die in this movie
Kalvin Koskela Same! I thought they would speak English because the trailer was in English, but their language in the movie made it a lot more realistic!
Just saw this film, loved every minute. A+ for story building, A++ For featuring an extinct language rather than American/British English, A+++ for featuring the first good boi. I rate it 5 out of 5 Wolf Pups

My mom watched this movie and narrated it to me because she loved it so much. I was so excited to watch but she forgot the name.. I just searched for “wolf and boy” and Thank god I found it 🙂🙂🙂
One of the things I love about this movie is that the wolf is played by . . . a wolf! Not necessarily the gender the wolf is supposed to be in the movie, but a good performer! It's a live-action story that can leave you with a new appreciation for the ancestors of dogs.
Did the wolf rehearse it's lines and did it win a oscar?
the gender? are wolves woke now as well?
I'm a simple man. I see a wolf in a movie I buy it.
Yeah man, White Fang is still one of my all-time favs from the 90's.

Well, in Jungle Book the Tiger totally stole the show. I love wolves but nothing beats Tigers for me.

Female Wolf, judging from your name I'm inclined to believe you. Lol
can't wait to watch this with my dog
Yes, a must have on blu-ray
I wonder if your dog goes AWOOOO when an AWOO scene starts lmao
Rio J,,, that would be funny. I find it interesting that from things I have read, 'wolves don't bark like dogs in any form'. If that is so, why is that? Also only a few breeds howl like wolves. I have a 17 year old male Aussie who almost never barks or make any loud noise even when there are other dogs barking at him. He just stares at them. His form of communication and only to me is in little whimpers and suggestive expressions which I have learned. He does instinctively hate cats unless I am holding that cat. As soon as it is on the ground he will bark, loudly, only a time or two. But if let him loose he will try to kill every cat with extreme prejudice, he has killed four cats where I caught him with the evidence. I can only assume this behavior is due to selective breeding as a herder assistant. Even his tail movements are communication.
@@delmusingle2338 wolves and dogs are a bit different from what i heard, if you're asking why wolves dont bark like any other dogs, idk man. But your dog's case is an interesting one, i guess it only barks as a warning or as a threat to cats. I've seen clips of dogs howling when they see a howling scene in zootopia, so im not surprised if there's a clip of someone's dog howling when they see the howling scene in Alpha. And i think its normal but unique to hear that your aussie rarely barks. Still though i guess you could try showing him a certain howling clips and see if its gonna work or nah lol
Rio Janeiro,,,, I have watched for his reaction to dogs in movies. I have only seen his ears twitch to 'attention mode'. I believe he has been breed to not disturb crazing sheep and to attack cats .... wild felines, lions, and such. He has interesting ways of communication. to me on a number of issues. When am fixing me something to eat, he will flick his tongue out and in just a half inch or so as if asking' Can I have a bite?". When I do, the action stops unless he wants another. Even his whining low volume in several ways for many different reasons, I've learned to interpret them. But he still obeys common commands. He has a mind of his own on some things and will lock his legs if some does not please him when I am walking him in the pasture or woods. He will not budge until I change directions. I sometimes get frustrated because it seems he is in charge and not me. He 'tolerates' baths but will obey if i command him sternly.
4 years later and still one of the best movies I’ve ever seen

Y'know, I think we focus too heavily on the importance of *what* happens in a movie. The bit we actually enjoy - the bit that draws us in - is *how*. It's the journey (cliche though that is).
If knowing what happens ruined our enjoyment of a movie we would never rewatch any.
They do that when they think it'll be a belly flop.
In their defense, there's so little to the plot I doubt they could have made a trailer without it giving the entire thing away. Honestly I'm just confused ancient man is dressed in the LL Bean Collection and why "Injured guy walks back home" is becoming its own sub genre.

Humans knew a whole hell of a lot more back then than we do now.
They knew stuff to survive, and were taught it at a young age. We don’t need this stuff in every day life, so yeah. Bit ignorant of us I guess.

How dogs became man's best friend.
Beginning of domestication
I don't know
they are not Dogs actually they are Wolves
Thanks to explaining that I was confused at the end
Actually, yes and no. The friendliest wolves and the less human fearful wolves ate the most scraps from human camps, therefore they were more well fed and lived to pass on those friendly genes.
After generations and generations of those friendly wolves passing on their genes, they eventually evolved into the domesticated dog, which were taken in by humans and fully domesticated.

we all have our own opinion.. to me, this will help people understand their dogs better and would encourage people to help dogs on animal shelters or adopt stray dogs.. i love my dogs, they protected me and i go jogging with them, they even comfort me when i am sad.. i don't know what will happen to me if my dogs disappear in my life, since i considered them as family.. i just love my dogs and they are my best friends.. i love husky dogs, i love CHIHUAHUAS and golden retrievers, i just love dogs.. and i am hoping to watch this movie together with my dogs and show them who their ancestors were.. wolves..
Illuminator
Dude all animals in this movie including Alpha aka the main wolf is all CGI you can tell by how they’re animated and not realistic at some points yes I could say Alpha might be a real wolf dog actor but at other points everything is CGI and computer graphics
Illuminator
That is horrible to hear your nabors are that cruel and selfless people like that will rot in hell or get karma for it along with yes I know the movie industry has abused animals in past films mainly dogs and other animals that are easy to control and train and used for the awww factor now a days to prevent that the movie industries now mainly use CGI to prevent that abuse and cruelty
If you watch the trailer close enough you can tell most of the animals and fight scenes or scene where Keda has to kick at the movies was all fake and the part where alpha was on the ground whining is all sound effects and what not sure i Believe that the wolf was a trained animal but only used in simple shots like laying down and walking with Keda or laying with him a lot of shots where they run or swim or fight scenes are all edited later and CGI stuff ^^ I’ve learned this from past films like the Life of Pie the Tiger was all CGI most of the animals were and a few other past films
I just watched this movie, it's f**king great!

They had this movie up for free when I was staying at the hospital. I probably watched it about five or six times in a row. Such a fascinating movie! I love the paleolithic time periods because there's so much mystery about how people back then survived, what they believed, how their tribes were structured, and of course how they domesticated wolves! lol Of course there's more to making a movie good than just the setting, and the directors and actors in this film did phenomenal jobs, I must say. Beautiful movie with intense action and interesting paleolithic dynamics!
I saw this movie in theater with my 15 years old sister and we both loved it. It was nice to see something fresh with all these recent movies which seems to be all the same. It doesn't blow your mind but it is a really great family movie. Also I enjoy the fact that the trailer doesn't show all the movie. i love it too bro... its nice have a same feeling
agree with you bro... i really like movie like this
What's really magnificent about this movie is that it shapes your mentality into thinking what circumstances we would be in Keda's situation, with each obstacle surging through our thoughts of decision for survival. I personally don't know what my situation would be like since I haven't gone through an experience similar to Keda, so I don't know what I truly possess in strength, agility, speed, endurance & intelligence in a harsh outdoor environment. But what I can say is that I would love to reside in an isolated location, for example somewhere in the Coniferous forests of Canada or Iceland where I have a cabin to live in with a gorgeous view from either the front or back side, with two or three German Shepherds or other breed similar to the one in the movie. My goal would be to live a life away from the constantly obnoxious society & traverse through snowy lands in search of an adventure I never had. If there's any way I could describe it for anyone reading to understand what I seek in my journey, here's how I envision it;
"Traveling along the lands encoated by white with my companions, I hunt fish & small animals as I discover new acres in search of a perfect spot to sit and admire the auroras dancing in the clear night sky. Miles are numbered as I find all sorts of wild northern animals from Elk, foxes, snow rabbits, Blue Jays & Red Cardinals. As my companions run circles around while I walk, the sun sets a pink-orange fade on the dimming sky, & finally after some work I manage to find a slightly steep acre in which I find a tall Spruce tree to lay my back on as the night sinks in. My fine companions howl at the stunning auroras waving back, the crisp cold breath seeps out their mouths & as do mine while we stare up at the bright stars winking at us, & my ecstatic enthusiasm to travel further is brought upon my adventurous mind."
Well folks that's all, thank you for reading & take it easy ✌

Did not see it coming
Rohan Sharma not original at all

I mean, nothing is completely "original". But its not a remake, or based off a previous work. In that way it's original. It also probably didn't cost much to make. Just recently I have had an obsession with wolves. I give them my life. The king of nature. I hope they are the protagonist. For years and centuries they have been seen as bad, but that is not true. Live for the wolves, and for their survival.
Doggo We are the kings of nature, wolves did not evolve to cage humans or build technology like the modern. Nothing on this planet can challenge our dominance.
Doggo Because we're super dominant.
Doggo Savage animals struggle every day to get themselves food or a drink, we can walk a little and be at hunger's end. We are the kings, humans have raised their kingdoms to power, we have everything. Your argument is nothing dude. We are the kings.
Doggo You're such a dumbass, we are the most super dominant thing on the worlds. The fact about it is that we rule and bend nature to our will and for it to aid us. We may not be the best kings but it is without a doubt known that we are.

no thereare a lot of genetic difereces
Welllllll technically speaking no, not at all. Though very similar in look dogs are much smaller than that of an average wolf. Dogs also are tamed for the most part and wolves are wild so automatically their thought patterns are different. Though very similar dogs and wolves are not at all the same thing. Try taming a wolf now and you'd get your face ripped off.
u know the wolf is toast right? how else would the kid learn who is alpha.. the pack leader dies for the pack.. thats how we learned to love dogs and trust them with our lives and children..dogs die everyday by police for protecting the home.. their loyalty had to have been seen when a dog dies for his master..bet u anything.. how else will it be impactful..like turner n hooch?
Predator 117 wolves are ancestors of domestic dogs that were made in a lab

Read the comments. I live in in India in a small town Bhilai. Even here people don't respect street dogs. Will this movie be ever showcased here? I don't think so. But who ever sees it please respect dogs.
@Herbert Munson u think animals don't have souls? What a fucking weirdo you are.
admix da sorry to remind you that you also live in a world that doesn’t treat its people right, especially women who’s life is half a dog’s. Also In a world where poverty dominates. So it’s only natural that dogs are not valued. I’m pretty sure if you go where the elite lives, dogs are way more respected.
Herbert Munson I hate people and love animals. The planet would be far better off without the disgusting wicked creature called homo sapiens
I saw it on IMAX yesterday and it is truly a product of our current time! I feel like watching a real prehistoric documentary! The special effects are so believable, and the story is so touching! You can take your preteen or teenage kids to this movie, it's family - friendly to that level.
Not in English tho
I just found this on Netflix in 2022 and and believe I've never seen it. Best movie I've seen in a long time, can't recommend it enough, how it ties in to our ancestor's relationship with wolves / camp dogs made me emotional
its not on Netflix.... I just checked
It looks so beautiful
Fake lt so cazy

3 years straight finding this movie, here it is
Watch this movie! It is very different from the standarized movie formula, a little slow at the beginning but it gets better, and the visuals and landscapes are amazing. And talks about a VERY important part of the history of humankind.
Yes yes... Beautiful tbh
It is rubbish !! Typical Hollywood make it America
@@allandrummond8028 what the hell are you talking about?
You mean menkind ;)
"AN ENEMY WILL BECOME AN ALLY"
