Awesome Kukri. I have that exact Kukri and dropping a video on it today. It chops, split, and carves well. And no problem using it as a stricker with the Ferro Rod. Stay Safe

I have one that I purchased after watching Alan Kay on Alone. I have had the pleasure of speaking with him online a few times. He did use the standard HD on the show like you have. He just had a friend make a kydex sheath for him. Sure is a beast of a blade.

I got several and one from Nepal. I loved it's rawness but I did have to do some work on the handle. Had to sand the edges to remove sharp points stabbing my hands. Otherwise it'll be a great addition.

If you want diff handle scales i have found that if one takes a couple rolls of that self adhesive bandage (comes in all kinds of colors) cut it in equal strips, coat each one in Gorilla glue, stick em together & sandwich them between 2 metal plates, thick glass plates or anything you can easily free the glue from & boom you got some slabs of micarta like material. Of course one could just order some micarta scales but that isnt as fun & your limited in size, colors etc that other companies supply.

Actually, this is the model Alan Kay used. After he won, Condor worked with him and together they designed the K-TACT together with him. The Condor Heavy Duty and the K-TACT Alan designed with them are both excellent tools.

I have a friend that has that particular knife. Actually seeing and holding it, it's feel and look is "very" impressive! Honestly, the first time I saw it started me thinking about it. Now seeing it again, is making me think about it again. I have Kukri house knives and Condor knives and in my humble opinion, your knife right there, looks to be a great mix of both worlds!!! Decisions, decisions lol...

I have 2 of these Condor Heavy Duty Kukri. I saw Alice in Resident Evil with a double brace of these Kukri's and said if Zombie Apocalypse happens, my Kukris won't be chopping wood. I will be chopping Pinocchio's wooden head. You have the same taste that I do, dude. By the way, Condor has micarta versions of these Kukri's. But much more dinero. I love Kukri's and have Cold Steel plus ➕️ version as well.

I have ordered a total of 6 different kukri from Nepal in my life, and all from very well known companies. They all were absolutely horrible. Especially from Khukuri House or known as KHHI. That condor you have is better than anything you can buy from Nepal. That's a fact.

@411Outdoors I wasn't being negative, but I tell people just because they are the original doesn't make them the best. They heat treat with dripping water on the edge. Yeah, they will cut and chop, but that 1075 with condors heat treat is miles above anything they make.

I have a number of kukris including the K-Tact & I love it however the one that gets the most use is the ESEE Expat Jaraca. That's because it is easy to swing through the palm fronds, banana leaves & other branches I need to clear on my property. I find most kukris become too heavy when spending full days swinging away cutting up branches. The Jaraca is also easy to field sharpen however the sheath is absolute rubbish. Out of all of my kukri's if I had to pick one to take out bush with me for bushcraft/survival purposes it would be the K-Tact though. I might look at getting either the heavy duty or the king kukri although I see the specs on the heavy duty is very similar to the K-Tact. Thanks for the review.

I have the Service No. 1, Remade. From Khukuri House. It is full tang, but the tang is tapered, so as you get to the "Pommel" of the knife, the tang thins out. It also has a 10 inch blade, but not nearly as beefy. So its very fast and nimble in the hand. Made from 5160 spring steel, and yes it has a thick spine. I keep it in my office to repel boarders ;) But there is something about a well made Khukuri and how it fits the hand. Guess I need to make a new video about my Khukuri collection.

Caution: KukriHouse makes EXCELLENT blades. However, they're made in and for a high humidity environment. So the handles tend to swell and shrink between shipping and use. It may be splintered, warped, cracked, etc. But that's NOT a reflection of their craftsmanship. Just the hazards of rapid humidity and temperature changes.

I have two broken Kukri House blades. They may occasionally put out a decent knife, but their quality control seems to be made up of escapees from North Korea who have no idea what quality control is. I've never seen or heard of a broken blade from Himalayan Imports or Tora Blades, but KHHI (and their other company name, Ex-Gurkha Kukri House) can't seem to put out quality blades on anything resembling a regular basis.

You may be very disappointed once the KHHI blade arrives, about 60% of people get what is functionally useless without modification. Unless they know you have a Spewtube channel, then they take care to make sure you get, as we used to call the cars sent for test to magazines, a ringer so the myth of KHHI is perpetuated.
They speak of honor, yet display none-especially when one attempts to get warranty service. They have even gone so far as attempting to blame a serious metallurgical defect on the shipping company DHL(who is scabby themselves) when the package was in perfect condition.
So yea, I do hope you get a good one because they can (mostly just don't) make a good blade.

I was not impressed by traditional kukris and their manufacturing methods in Nepal. I wanted a tool that would keep on working in the worst conditions, so I bought the KTac Kukri with kydex sheath ( leather or animal skins absorb water). I wanted the micarta scales since wooden scales just do funny things in wet and freezing conditions. So the Condor rendition will suit my needs. I wasn’t a traditional kinda knife dude. I want something I would not have to baby. To me it’s a tool without any sentimental feelings. Buy what works for you and your POU: philosophy of use! It’s gotta work for you and your style or budget! Peace Be The Journey!
