    i agree, i didnt like the whole "beef" between Ron and Harry plot but it is explained way better in the books why Ron reacted the way he did! Ron has always been overshadowed by everyone in his life and his family has always been on the poor side. In the beginning of the book at the quidditch world cup Ron didnt have enough money to buy some goggles at the game so Harry bought them for him and he felt extremely guilty because he doesnt like people buying stuff for him. Then on the train to hogwarts, Draco comes to their train cart and makes fun of Ron and his family for being poor and it upsets Ron a lot. Then they get to school and the tournament is announced along with a prize of 1000 galleons and Rons excited to enter because its his chance to finally shine in his family and also win some money for his family. But then they announce that no one under 17 can enter and he's upset, but then Harry somehow ends up in the competition even though hes under 17. Ron gets annoyed because not only is Harry is always in the spotlight, but Ron thinks Harry lied to him and entered the competition secretly without telling him. Also the entire school turns against Harry because they think Harry cheated his way into the tournament to get even more fame. Harry is also already super rich so the fact that he could win the prize money and become even richer makes Ron even more upset, because he really wanted the money for his family.
    Hope that this helped you understand why the whole "beef" between them happened!

    The cruciatus curse affected Neville because a death eater tortured his parents with that spell when he was young. They're still alive but are in like a mental hospital because they were tortured hardcore and it affected them mentally, that part is heartbreaking in the book. His grandmother is his caregiver. Also what you will notice from here on out is that movie Ron is not the same as book Ron. They made Ron a character for comic relief and gave some of his book lines for movie Hermione to say. That is something I can never forgive Steve Kloves, the screen writer, for doing.

    Priori Incantatem forces one of the two wands that share a core to show the most recent spells that were cast. The two spells that we saw Voldemort’s wand cast in this movie were when he killed Cedric and Frank (the caretaker). Before this movie, the most recent spells that his wand cast were the deaths of Lily and James on the night that Voldemort disappeared. So that’s why these are the figures that appear.
    Glad you’re enjoying the films😊

    • @scottswenson383
      @scottswenson383 4 года назад +18

      I can see where that point would be confusing if you watch the movies without having read the book first. At the end of the fourth book Dumbledore does a really good job of explaining priori incantatem to Harry but at the end of the film he just kind of glosses over it and never fully explains it. One other important point to know is the fact that Harry and Tom Riddle's wands were twins, or brothers kept Voldemort at bay for a bit longer. It took him some time to figure out what exactly happened in the graveyard that night (in addition to rattling him a bit) and it also took him time to figure out a way around it. There is also a likely reason that Harry ended up with THAT particular wand. As Olivander told Harry the wand chooses the wizard, and that it was more than a little curious that Harry should end up with that wand when its brother gave him his scar. All this becomes very important as the story goes forward.

    In the books he had returned to the Dursleys and only went to the Weasley house the day before you first see him in this movie. I only mention it because it becomes important later in the series. You actually see Cedric for a brief moment in the Prisoner of Azkaban during the Quidditch game. That song you heard was the Hogwarts school song and Mad Eye's eye can see through things like doors. It's the same actor for Flitwick. The music seems different because they changed composers for this film. Karkaroff was a coward and instead of returning to Voldemort when called, he fled. The reason Ron was mad at Harry is because all his life he was overshadowed by his 5 older brothers and then becomes best friends with one of the most famous wizards in the world who once again finds himself center of attention and Ron feels pushed to the sidelines again and is a bit jealous of Harry.

    Cedric's death was, obviously, a huge deal for both Harry personally, and the readers of the book series. It let us all know that the stakes were getting higher and that this was no longer "just" a childrens' adventure/fantasy series.
    Granted, some very dark themes and mentions of death and torture and mind control had been present throughout, but the TONE of the books (and movies) was changing dramatically. Which is one of the cool things about this series.

      SPOILERS*****
      Tsuumee basically, not all of snape’s actions are justified but they’re understandable. So, lily and Snape were childhood friends that met by coincidence. Snape tells lily abt Hogwarts and their future since she was a muggle born. Then Petunia (Harry’s aunt/Lily’s sister) gets involved. She’s jealous of Lily’s magical abilities and Snape accidentally injured petunia with magic. Then petunia calls her a freak but lily says that she saw a letter that petunia wrote to Hogwarts begging them to accept her as a student. Then lily and petunia are basically divided forever. At school lily is still mad at Snape for sabotaging her relationship with her sister and it gets worse when they are separated into different houses. in school lily doesn’t like snape’s other friends (who all become death eaters later) and James actually bullies Snape. Though Lily assures him that she can't stand James, an altercation with the James ends in nastiness when Snape calls Lily a Mudblood and it effectively ends their friendship forever. Snape begs for forgiveness but she can’t forgive him. James and Lily get together and James is a better person after growing up, but Snape still hates him bc he bullied him and he “took” lily away from him. Snape became a death eater. But then he overhears on a meeting between Dumbledore and professor Trelawney who prophecies Voldemort’s first encounter with Harry and begs Dumbledore to save lily.Dumbledore gets pissed at him for only caring abt lily. Then Snape begs for him to save all three and he’ll do anything in return. Voldemort obviously still ends up killing lily and James. Snape is depressed as hell abt it. Dumbledore convinces snape that the way to show his love for lily is the protect Harry. But once Harry starts attending Hogwarts snape immediate dislikes him, especially bc he really resembles James and sees him as arrogant and mediocre (Harry talks back to him a lot more in the books) and also sees him as a kid who breaks rules for fame. That’s basically it, snape works as dumbledore’s spy and poses as a death eater and protects Harry cuz of his promise. Lol that was long as hell

    • @mrsfahrenheit

      Andy Thierry but to be honest they did some things way better in the movie and I actually prefer special scenes over the same scene in the book: For example the way they portrayed Hermione‘s anger towards Ron during the ball sequence, also the scene with Cedric‘s dad crying over his son‘s dead body was way more emotional in the movie compared to the
      book and the scene when Harry found out about „Mad Eye“/ Barty Crouch Jr when he accidentally mentions the graveyard and Harry goes like „I don’t think I mentioned anything about a graveyard, professor“ that scene was very clever and I was actually sad not to find it in the book😕
      but as a whole the book‘s still better because unfortunately they only kept one mystery in the movie : who put Harry‘s name into the Goblet of Fire?
      and forgot about the others like the plot with Rita Skeeter, the question who Fred and George are blackmailing, the question what happened with Barty Crouch and who killed him and so on..😊

    - beauxbatons and durmstrang ARE CO-ED. The movies messed this up.
    - Neville was so affected because his parents were tortured into insanity and dementia with the crucio curse by death eaters (they were like, wizard FBI)
    - You have to consider that Ron is a teenager and emotions are high. Being the youngest brother and constantly in the shadow of your 5 older siblings your whole life leaves a mental scar.
    - Lucius was indeed a death eater. Death eaters are Voldys closest circle, basically like his personal army.

    To your thoughts about Harry and Rons fight.
    You can't leave out that they are 14 and clearly in puberty. Ron is the youngest brother (not counting Ginny obviously)
    and all of his brothers had something special going on, like being really good at Quidditch
    Or being head boy. He said as much in the first movie whe he looked in the mirror of Erised.
    So Rons jealousy of the attention Harry gets which leaves him in the shadow is something that needed to be addressed, but he is Harrys friend nonetheless so it made sense that he would bury his jealousy the moment he knew Harry was in danger.

    I’m surprised no one in the comments (from what I’ve seen) has told you that Gryffindor isn’t the leadership house, that’s Slytherin. But yes, Gryffindor is full of studs.
    *Gryffindor* : courage, bravery, chivalry, adventure.
    *Hufflepuff* : loyalty, justice, patience, hard-working
    *Slytherin* : ambition, cunning, resourcefulness, leadership
    *Ravenclaw* : intelligence, creativity, learning, wisdom.
    To be sorted into a house, the sorting hat takes a lot of things into consideration. You will be able to tell that some people who are (or were) in x house may not exemplify the traits associated with that house (like Peter Pettigrew, Crab, and Goyle), or maybe it seems like the person fits the traits of another house better than their own (like Hermione). I find the sorting system to be fascinating.

    • @embran8486
      @embran8486 4 года назад +7

      Itsrrpp is saying the big & main house. Than Gryff being about leadership. This is sort of true. It once was Dumbledore's & now McGonagall clearly is the leading teacher. I always felt she might become Dumbledore's successor or be principal in his absence.
      And witnessing that small wonder he thinks Gryffindor is about leadership. It's the one aspect I feel does apply to Gryffindor even better. The creature is both eagle & lion, rulers in animal kingdom & in heraldism leaders & courage. Kings often having either one. But politicians are expected coming from Slytherin though.

    • @victoriaque601
      @victoriaque601 4 года назад +7

      Martyaxvar yeah gryffindor does seem to be the main house, perhaps due to the perspective the book is from or maybe because of the bias people have in the Harry Potter world or the fact that Dumbledore is a Gryffindor. But (to your second point) I don’t think leadership applies better to Gryffindor although they can make great leaders. The reason why leadership isn’t a Gryffindor trait isn’t because they don’t make good leaders, it’s because they don’t care about that. Meanwhile, it’s a Slytherins goal to lead, they are expected to be leaders.

    • @She-Devil94
      @She-Devil94 4 года назад +4

      Oh Gryffindor is definitely one of the leadership houses. To me Gryffindor and Slytherin are basically two sides of the same coin.
      Gryffindor is for brave and charismatic leaders.
      Slytherin is for cunning and persuasive leaders.
      Both can be advantagious in certain moments.
      But honestly depending on the Situation Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws could be really good leaders too.

    The school was mad at Harry because everyone believed that he somehow cheated the Goblet's magic and entered his name for attention since he's always been getting himself in trouble and getting attention for it since the moment he started school. And usually, Harry gets rewarded for this in the eyes of the school so he's resented for it especially when it taints another student rightfully earning their place in the competition. He really stole some of Cedric's shine as he was meant to represent Hogwarts and he didn't get to enjoy that glory for himself since that selfish troublemaker Harry Potter was back at it again with his attention-seeking mischief. At least that's how the school sees it.

    Just for clarification, if you remember Mr. Ollivander (the guy that owns the wand shop) told Harry that it was curious that he would be the one that his own wand chose, because a Phoenix gave away two feathers: one for Harry's and one for Voldemort's. So in the graveyard the duel was basically a standstill because their wands are basically twins.

    One thing that I will also point out. The Tri-Wizard Tournament was scored by judges in the book. Each judge gave a score out of 10 I believe. So that's why Fred and George aren't broke after taking bets. Finishing a task doesn't mean winning or beating it. The manner in which you complete it (magic used), how quickly you complete it, and any injuries sustained are all factored in.

    Ron's behaviour is better explained in the books. Basically, as a Weasley, he grew up always feeling a bit inferior because they've always been poor (though I think most of us would say he's very rich having grown up in that family). When he befriended Harry and Hermione, he's always felt second-best (especially to Harry and his "fame"), and he seemed to be known as "Harry's friend" more than anything. When Harry got picked for the Tournament, which he REALLY wanted to take part in, he was sure that Harry had put his own name in and didn't tell Ron about it, because it was just another way that Ron felt inferior to Harry (though of course Harry would never do that).
    As far as Hermione saying, "I'm not an owl", in the books Ron and Harry were arguing back and forth through Hermione, sending messages to the other. She finally got so sick of it, she refused to do it anymore, and said, "I'm not an owl!"

People are "mean" to Harry for a few reasons: Cedric is three years older than Harry and very popular (There's also the house loyalties to consider); Cedric was considered a sure thing to represent Hogwarts in the Tr-Wizard tournament, then Harry's name pops out and in the eyes of many, puts suspicion on Harry.

    One of my pet peeves of many movies is that the good wins solely because they're the good guy. One of the things I personally enjoyed about the whole story is that everytime this young snot nosed punk beat the most powerful dark wizard there was a coherent, foreshadowed in the previous movies, reason WHY he beat Riddle each time. A big part of it was that each time there was always an important piece of information that Riddle himself didn't know. These two small details for me showed a well crafted story.

    Love your reaction. :) Some plot and Details are missing in this movies and in the next 4. Books 4 - 7 are very big and they couldn't fit it all into one movie. Thats why they split the 7th book into two movies. In the books JKR writes About the Quidditch Final and Ron's character gets a lot more explained. So Maybe you want to read the books when you're done with the movies because you are really good with Details and the books are filled with them. Also the 5th book ist the largest, so they had to condense the plot for the movie very much.

    13:37 WHAT ARE THE LOGISTICS OF THAT?!?!?? I've watched and liked all of your videos, but this is when I became a subscriber. I first read these books with my grandchildren. Their dad, my oldest, was born 6 months before Harry Potter ostensibly was (HP born July 31, 1980). I love the movies, own both physical and digital copies, and watch them often. It's nice to meet a new fan!
