Thank you for always being positive and up beat, it is refreshing! I am sorry for your loss of former neighbor. Never truer words, never know what tomorrow will bring. Love your mantra "live long and prosper". God be with you and us all.
As a young Canadian mom, I really enjoy watching your videos because I don't feel the need to "keep up with the Joneses" to enjoy my life! So many younger, North American RUclipsrs have massive, shiny, modern homes with all the latest gadgets, showing off their thousands of dollars spent at Target, etc., every season. I love your attitude towards life, and how you care for things and reuse things, rather than always needing the "latest and greatest". It's nice to see a lovely, cozy, modest home where you know people and things are cherished and taken care of! ❤ thank you, Diane!
Aww, thank you so much. Yes, my house probably appears quite boring because I'm not out buying the latest gadget/product... LOL! But I love recycling/shopping my own house and getting items at our Clothes Swap parties. And it frees me up to go and DO fun things instead! 😍
@@DianeinDenmark I hope I didn't come across as condescending! Your home is lovely, not boring! I think I meant that it is so lovely to watch you because, as a smart, successful woman, you aren't only concerned with placing your value in the things you own- "showing off", as it were. Your home is a reflection of you (homey and well-thought and lovely) rather than a place to brag about your wealth and status. I hope that makes sense!!
"A WEE dust off" You are such a delight! When Scottish meets Danish...love it. A day without Diane, is like a day without sunshine (even when you don't have sunshine) and I avoid it! You must be a constant gift to your friends and neighbors with your (almost) always sunny-disposition. Oh, yes and what you are demonstrating, teaching, and encouraging, are immensely helpful to my joy in life and peace of mind! Thank you.
michelle B I am grateful for the positive changes you’ve helped me make in my life, and I find it sad that you have to tell grown people to act like grown people in the comments. 😞
Happy Birthday to your husband! I don't know how anyone could say one negative thing about you, you are the most lovely, and vibrant burst of energy in the morning...just what I need. Have never been disappointed by any of your great videos..Have a great day!
It always amazes me how watching someone else work motivates me to get something done myself. You are part of my morning routine, while sipping my coffee, after making my bed, and lol. Don't worry dressed to shoes soon follow. It is not long before I'm tackling the rest. Such a comfort really ❤️ When I come back from vacation, or holidays, it somehow transitions me back to normalcy. Nothing more satisfying than putting all the celebration and packing back in it's place. Thank you Diane.
Thank you for prioritizing positivity over perfection! You have helped so many of us stay motivated and positive, and I treasure the community you have built! 🌺 Lots of love from Florida! 🌺
Thank you so much for your videos. I find it so nice to be cleaning along with you. I did my oven and refrigerator while watching this video - we weren't even doing the same thing but it was nice hearing you. Blessings to you and your neighbor today.
So funny Diane I made my bed and did a pupa but had to put you on pause to take my shower and get dressed to shoes so I wouldn't be working along with you in my night clothes. The habit is sticking. Lol Margaret
Diane you hit the nail on the head. Thx again for reminders about perfectionism and living life to the fullest. And thx for making me literally lol with "skoosh skoosh anything" and "lift and separate " comment. 😀
Yup, I remember those bra adverts on TV when I was a little girl: I remember being a bit disappointed when I got to needing a bra myself that 1. Playtex bras didn't seem to be around much anymore and 2. I never really had enough to 'lift and separate' anyway! 😂 ....And, yeah, 'skoosh skoosh' is now part of our family vocabulary (thanks Diane xx) - a very useful term that puts an action in to words so effectively!!
As someone else already said, you have helped so many of us stay motivated and positive. I treasure you as the person who helps us along in life. Now. You would be so proud: yesterday, after you mentioned the hotspot thing, I did a sideways look at mine and vowed to fix it. Today, I cleared it all off (a pile maybe six inches high), filed, trashed, saved and sorted. It looks so good. And something I love about that space is that every time I look at it it reminds me of you and your gentle motivation to get things done. Truly. What would we do without you. So thankful to be on the receiving end of your wonderful ideas, caring, motivation, fun, and just all around delightful personality. Sometimes I know what you're going to say just before you say it because I've watched you so long (absorbed your words). Much love across the miles, dear Diane
I've shared that I knit and do my nails to pamper myself, but I've neglected to tell you that watching your videos while I do these things and when I have breakfast is also part of my self-care routine. You have helped me SO much! Thank you.
G-day Diane from very sunny and warm BUNBURY, Western Australia. Love catching up with you each day. Your enthusiasm is so infectious and it is so lovely learning about Denmark while getting on with our cleaning. You have inspired me (and given me permission... I know I didn’t really need it but I’m a perfectionist and have always struggled with getting all the cleaning done without burning out!) to work for 15-20 mins and then take a break and look after me with a little pampering. This change in my mindset has helped in so many areas of my life too so thank you and keep inspiring us. 💖
I make my own non-toxic cleaning sprays. I vary the essential oils in them to suit the season or my whim. I put the homemade cleaning solution into inexpensive brown spray bottles (similar to your Danish brand) or pretty blue spray bottles, from Amazon. I bought inexpensive die-cut stickers from Etsy to decorate the spray bottles, which although isn't necessary, does make me happy. The cleaning solution costs only pennies a batch, it takes only a few minutes, it is environmentally friendly, it smells lovely, and the bottles are reusable. Love the video series this week. What a great idea to get back on track after the holidays. You provide such sensible information. It is so refreshing amidst the excessive consumerism in social media.
Thank you , Diane , for making these videos. They help me stay motivated in keeping my home orderly. I'm sorry some people have been rude in the comments section. You are such an inspiration to me, and I really appreciate your help!
I have been watching your videos since late summer and you have taught me so much! I cannot believe anyone would have negative things to say about you or your videos. You really are an inspiration!
I respect you so so much 🎉 My entire apartment is cleaned and decluttered. I’m sure I’ll get rid of a bit more each time we declutter, that has always been my jam, but I am so so so excited about all the new routines you taught me. Thanks for keeping us company as we do mini jobs ❤
Thank you sooo much for doing all your videos. I love your baby steps videos I am day 20. Thanks for being the best cheerleader you help me get going each day. I never would have guessed I’d enjoy watching cleaning videos so much!
Was thinking exactly the same, as you mention "lift and separate", reference to Playtex Cross your Heart bras - that's good advertising when slogans stick in your mind years/decades later. I believe it is an "old thing" when you start cutting off tube tops to get to the bottom lol! Lorna
I love your videos! They’ve really helped me to see things as more manageable. Also, when I’m not feeling it, I can hear your voice cheering me on (Rah! Rah! Rah!) 😄
As I have been awake since 4.30am I am just getting up so I will make the bed and work along with you. Thanks for the motivation. Have a great day xxxx Margaret

Somebody taught me that lotion tube trick when I was hairdressing. We used to do that to get all of our styling products "good to the last drop!" I still do it now😆
I love your spirit and your energy! Blessings and thank you for being yourself and inspiring us all! You are so correct, you don't need all the special things unless you have them just a good clean cloth and a bit of dampness for general wiping down or whatever your preference but the main thing is to move and not say tomorrow as today is yesterdays tomorrow and we can't put it off until tomorrow any longer......LOL Long way to say ........"get up and move toward activity" and keep healthy doing so. Loved your cleaning zone today and I will be back to see for tomorrow! :-) Blessings
You are such an inspiration, and a hit of positivity to my day. I love you and your channel!! Thank you so much for keeping us all motivated and being a great example of joyful living ❤️
I agree, I can’t stand any waste and do the same thing with my tubes and bottles to get the last bit. Also I do the same thing with my items that will be going into the wash that day, I get one last hurrah from them by doing a quick swipe to gather up some dust. Thanks for your kind words and look after yourself as well!
I had to laugh when you showed the cut off top of your lotion. I do that all the time with lotions, toothpaste and anything else made of plastic because I hate waste too. Happy belated birthday to your DH and sorry to hear about your friend. You are so right...life is short and you never know what the future holds so make your own fun and enjoy life.
I totally cleaned and even touched up the paint in my closet when the power went out. I have been waiting for a clothes swap and one of my friends is having one. Now I am ready to pull out clothes to swap. I will need to throw away old make up that I never used. It will be easy to get ready to declutter.❤❤❤
The funny thing is, I got the idea of getting different colors of bands for my the fitbit from you; I was excited to find a white and fuchsia set on Amazon for 9$ which I just bought. I am Happy for the lucky recipient who finds your bands at the clotheswap! I surely benefited from this master bdrm "RESET." I had left the ironing board out and it became a hotspot for some new clothes that needed trying on and some new pamper/lotion gifts from giftcards at Christmas. Bedroom is back to "tidy" in your video's time, complete with new fragrance mists on the perfume tray! :D :D
Diane I swear you're my long lost twin lol. After Eights....Thornton's....cutting the tops off....Do You miss the UK? I too live elsewhere, I miss spending time with people who understand. And having to make proper sentences when I speak English is tiring. Lol. Thank you Diane.
Good afternoon from Athens Greece.I love your videos......you are so cute!!!!Please tell me if we go everyday for 15 minutes to another zone for a week or we spend 15 minutes for the whole week at the same zone...(i watched the 31 babysteps).Thank you!Keep motivating us.....
Hi Maria! Normally we have a whole week in each zone. In this video series, we are doing something a bit different - a reset after Christmas - and hitting ALL the zones. Not something we usually do, but just to get us motivated! 😃
Lol re the MB product Diane thank you! I just fancied something nice and figured would add to the enjoyment of daily doings lol : ) ps loving this 5 day zone thing it really makes a difference
Hi Diane! You mentioned in this video about the cleaning products you use and that the ones you have are understandably difficult (and therefore expensive) to buy in other countries. I'm guessing the equivalent here in the UK are the Method range of products and I thought it might be helpful to comment on here that I've found them to be really good at cleaning and they smell nice (not that strange 'un-scented-but-still-smell-of-something' smell that some eco-friendly products I've tried have!). There's a really nice minty bathroom daily cleaner, and a lovely orangey kitchen daily cleaner, and I'll try the window and glass cleaner when I next need to buy some. They're around £4 a bottle (maybe £2 or £3 if Tescos have an offer on!) and for a long while I didn't buy them because I thought 'non-toxic' would mean they were simply a tiny bit more expensive but wouldn't work very well.....I was wrong! They're great for regular/daily cleaning and don't play havoc with my skin!
LOL I had to show my hubby when you starting talking about your dad cutting the bottoms of tubes off to get out the last wee bits. My husband does that. Since it's usually for one of the lotions he puts on my back, who am I to complain. :) We put a binder clip on the end so the inside doesn't dry out.
Thank you for your reply. There is no special reason, I do as much as I can and I enjoy cleaning LOL it not only makes my house clean and fresh but exercise at the same time. I just came across a cleaning routine by accident, NOT YOURS just an American young family who said I quote, "A house is only clean if every inch of the home is clean this includes behind cupboards, furniture, wardrobes and behind the bed, otherwise your home is not clean". My home is decorated with Victorian style furniture which are heavy, I like my home because it is unique from other modern home it feels cosy and when I have guess they always say how lovely, cosy and stylish my home is. I am so sorry Diane for such a long comment/reply but I just cannot get it out of my mind. It makes me feel what is the point of cleaning if only half it done. I know this is crazy talk but it just gets me down. Could do with some moral support reply. Ashwina from UK. Show less
You are a fantastic motivator, always bright and cheerful for us all. For 2/3 years a great inspiration. A have definitely a better structure in my cleaning and decluttering. Rarara for you and thanks. Btw how are the leather things you painted another colour doing? Is the colour still ok?
Did you say you lost your fit bit . I threw the charger to my husband shaver away by mistake when I was decluttering. I thought I was throwing away the old one. What a nuisance . Of course Spyro has been asking for his electric shaver. I had to tell him . I might be able to order a new one. xxx Margaret
Hi Diane, Need your help any ideas how to clean behind large heavy furniture cannot hoover behind since the hoover rod and brush is too large to reach behind. Too heavy to pull the furniture forward plus time consuming I would have to empty everything and it will need at least 3 people to pull it forward so that I can hoover behind and then will need to rush it back to the wall and place all items inside. The same for my wardrobe would love any help or suggestions. Just to let you know I am not being lazy or making excuses even though it might sound like it. Would love a reply. Ashwina from UK.
Hi Ashwina! 👋 Did someone ask you to clean behind it, or is there some special reason you have to do it? If not, then leave it alone! 😃 I don't move heavy items of furniture, I simply clean as much as I can easily access.

Andrea Atkinson I use Maison Belle and it’s ace, particularly the glass cleaner: www.thenaturalstore.co.uk/department/home/housekeeping/maison-belle/1391?_page=2&&view=thumbs
It will depend on what type of blinds you have...add it to your cleaning list for each zone. How often you need to clean your blinds will depend on the type (fabric, metal, wood), where you live (climate) and other factors (if people smoke inside your house, etc).
Hi. She mentioned it on other videos. She shakes it outside after she's done cleaning, and if it gets really dirty, gentle handwash and blow dry. Hope I got that right!
My husband LOVES not putting his clothes away. He’s not allowed to have a chair🤪 it would become a pile fast.i just let it be a pile. If it was a CHAIR with a pile he would feel like he “put it away”. Yes, I am a jerk.

Also I do the same thing with my items that will be going into the wash that day, I get one last hurrah from them by doing a quick swipe to gather up some dust. Thanks for your kind words and look after yourself as well!
Thank you Diane, you cheer me up every day. Can't believe how lovely my house now looks, you motivate me so much. Xxxxxxxxx

Woo hoo, go you, Denise! 🎉
Thank you for the great videos this week. I plan to rewatch them when I need that kick start.
I just love your energy 🌞
Thank you, Henrika!
Well I guess I better get started. Lol. Sorry to hear about your neighbor.
Love your house ...
Thank you for your positive outlook. Still am having trouble getting started, but your videos are helping.
You made me laugh when you said “lift and separate”. You have to be of a certain age to remember that like me 😂 think it was platex bras 👙
"Lift and separate" made me have a good laugh too. I forgot all about that commercial...from the "good old days." It was platex bras.
@@lyns.6522 Playtex cross your heart bra! :-)
We are showing our ages, Glenys! LOL!
Glenys Harley 😍😜🤪
In the process of moving. Work along with you for inspiration, encouragement! Sorting, tossing, packing is never fun. Thanks for your companionship!
Enjoy your Clothes Swap, Laura!
Happy Birthday, Diane’s DH! Wishes for a Grand day...and a grand year!
Glad you are enjoying your perfume, Julie! 😍
Again! One foot in front of the other. I have my bed, little side table, and my wicker chair in bedroom. Nearly empty but calm and cozy.
Diane I swear you're my long lost twin lol. After Eights....Thornton's....cutting the tops off....Do You miss the UK? I too live elsewhere, I miss spending time with people who understand. And having to make proper sentences when I speak English is tiring. Lol. Thank you Diane.
So true !! One of My dear doggies is not doing good as well Positive Prayers Always 💙🙏😓
❤
Good afternoon from Athens Greece.I love your videos......you are so cute!!!!Please tell me if we go everyday for 15 minutes to another zone for a week or we spend 15 minutes for the whole week at the same zone...(i watched the 31 babysteps).Thank you!Keep motivating us.....
Hi Maria! Normally we have a whole week in each zone. In this video series, we are doing something a bit different - a reset after Christmas - and hitting ALL the zones. Not something we usually do, but just to get us motivated! 😃
Thank you Diane keep moving and i will keep moving with you.Have a nice weekend!
I'm a top cutter because my mom was. 😊
Beautiful
Great💞
Lol re the MB product Diane thank you! I just fancied something nice and figured would add to the enjoyment of daily doings lol : ) ps loving this 5 day zone thing it really makes a difference
Hi again! Another commenter posted this """The Natural Store sells Maison Belle cleaning spray for £5.50 per bottle and £3.99 postage"""
Hi Anne! Yes, I've heard they are very popular!

I love your videos. Don't let the rude people bother you.

You are a fantastic motivator, always bright and cheerful for us all. For 2/3 years a great inspiration. A have definitely a better structure in my cleaning and decluttering. Rarara for you and thanks. Btw how are the leather things you painted another colour doing? Is the colour still ok?
Yes, colour is holding up fine - I use my handbag, boots, gloves, etc every day in all weathers 😃
Take care of you Diane ..
🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰Happy Birthday to Hubby! I 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
Funny, I ve just cut off the bottom of my tube of face scrub 🤣
P. S. I love to sqoosh sqoosh now too!

How do you clean the blinds in the bedroom?
It will depend on what type of blinds you have...add it to your cleaning list for each zone. How often you need to clean your blinds will depend on the type (fabric, metal, wood), where you live (climate) and other factors (if people smoke inside your house, etc).
Where did you buy your cleaning caddy?ikea no?
Hi Rosalie! Yes, IKEA (the SAMLA series)
Got to put away my laundry how did you know 😂
Eileen Wilson
Thanks for video
How do u clean the feather duster itself?
Hi. She mentioned it on other videos. She shakes it outside after she's done cleaning, and if it gets really dirty, gentle handwash and blow dry. Hope I got that right!
Hi! Yes, as Thea already wrote, tepid water and some shampoo.
My husband LOVES not putting his clothes away. He’s not allowed to have a chair🤪 it would become a pile fast.i just let it be a pile. If it was a CHAIR with a pile he would feel like he “put it away”. Yes, I am a jerk.
Yep, cut off the tops!
