I remember during the initial install thinking, "Wow, this music is a damned good impression of Devo," only to find out later that only Devo can sound that much like Devo.
Devolicious!!!
This game needs to be remastered, I hope Activision realises they are sitting on a gem right now.
they need to re-do 76 first.
This game is unforgettable. This game pops into mind when asked what my favorite games of all times are. Loved being a 90s kid ☺
Such an awesome shot scene, they did a good job hiding the low res with real intense lighting.
If they ever remake this game. It would be awesome if they included the I'76 game mechanics. The ability to go from one vehicle to another was fine but it wouldn't go amiss to include the damage system I'76 had.
That was such a fun game
I remember being hyped for this game back in 1998/1999, waiting through all the delays, and it ending up being a disappointment. Went for pure goofy story and arcadey gameplay, and scaled back so much of what made Interstate '76 special (such as buying weapons instead of salvaging them, removing different areas of the car getting damaged, etc). Activision also said bikes and hand-to-hand / 3rd person combat were going to be in the game and it was disappointing when that never happened in the final game. Also weird how they censored the FMVs (which looked grainy even back then!) and promised a swearing patch after release which never happened either (fans modded it back in). I remember beating it in a couple of hours and never playing it again, and the Interstate community was disappointed overall. The 3 unreleased Devo songs were nice, though.
Also, remember a long-defunct gaming magazine called PC Games way back in the day that did an extensive preview of this game in '98 and spoiled much of the story a year before the game came out (Spoilers -- Mentioned Groove being rescued early, Reagan being the villain), so yeah.
Came here because of Josh Mancell 5:26
Who? Lol

He's the main composer for that game
Ironically, this theme is stylized to Miami Vice intro :)
nice
I76 was a better game. They pussified Groove and Skye looks weird. The realism of I76 was lacking in this game. Although I still bought it and played it
Sounds of sam Jackson
Interstate 76 are very much better
I loved Interstate '76, and I loved the concept of the '80s, but this was just not done well and the fact Reagan was the bad guy in the game was a big turn-off for me.
huh? Reagan was the bad guy in real life, how doesn't that work for you exactly??
