I Tried A 29mm Fingerboard!

- Today I finally try out the 29mm fingerboard I unboxed a little while ago!
This is a 29mm Stacked fingerboard with Blackriver trucks and Flatface wheels and I really like it BUT theres just one problem...
Also in this video I go skateboarding with Tai and Rakai at a sick new D.I.Y spot in Wanaka and I give away my shoes!

I used to fingerboard on 29's, but switched a couple of months ago to a 32. The 29's does have a nice flip/rotation to it, but catching the board is way more difficult than on a 32

My opinion is the oposite hahah I started on a 29 but now that I use a 33 I think 29’s are super hard to flip
Used to fingerboard way back like ten years ago, still remember buying my 29mm or maybe it was 28mm Berlin wood board. I remember always thinking the board felt way too thin and light even right out of the box, funny ten years later the entire fingerboard community felt the same way and has made them wider. Thinking about buying a 32-34mm fb and maybe getting back into fingerboarding since I’ve watched this channel for some years now and it’s made me want to get back into it
You have the best content ever and my dream fingerboard setup’s keep it up. Also thanks for getting me into fingerboarding

On the 29mm board there is only 2 bolt holes

The look of a setup matters to me just as much as function does. 32 is where it’s at for me too💪🏼 Anything bigger feels fine but sadly it just looks goofy, and anything smaller ends up feeling a bit too light for my preference, but the challenge is fun and looks much better because of the closer scaling to a full size board👌🏼

I make my own fingerboards and I usually make 32mm decks. I made a 30mm used some old tech deck trucks with rubber bushings and it wasn’t too bad. Tre flips were very probably the easiest trick to do on it. I used it for a couple months and got pretty used to it, but once I went back to a 32mm, it was much easier to use. If I had to use a 29/30mm I wouldn’t mind it honestly

I got a 33.3 mm 5 ply classic shape black river deck and it is such a good in between the shape is like a real skateboard yet wide enough for my street riding

I had a bad day and this made my day 100 times better
Now do a video on 26mm boards, those were all we rode up to about 2007. Wider boards only really started to get more popular in 2008 when Tech Deck started selling the old school boards that came with 29mm trucks, but nut even than the wide boards were 28mm. Some people even considered it cheating to use wider boards and trucks at first but than again using foam grip was also considered cheating by some people for a while, kinds sure knew how to be assholes back then.

On Blackriver website you can still choose if you want 7ply or 5ply as well as 29mm (and more)! I’ve got a BerlinWood long time ago and I still have it
