From my experience from playing golem, trying a golem push in single elixir is like giving them a free win as they can abuse the fact that you can only have a maximum of 2 elixir in your hand after you place your golem, and therefore if the opponent bridge spams, you either lose half your tower or your whole tower, and by the time the golem gets to the bridge, you won't be able to get many support troops down and enough elixir to put a Spell down as well

The only time that works is when they have something cheap that can destroy a tower by itself like a mini pekka
