Yeah I thought it was a blood transfusion ritual, as the Oni didn't seem to have much time left in her life so she made the decision. I also think as Yanagi takes up her position as the newly trusted Oni leader she also inherits her naginata and I assume modifies it to suit her better.
this is the most serious trailer i've ever seen in ZZZ compared to Soldier 11's it's at the top, it's like they clarified what and why, the reason Yanagi treats soukaku like her own kin, her promise to the present oni-leader is blood bound it means she would do anything and everything to protect her even at the cost of her own life.. just like a mother would... if she has oni blood running in her veins maybe later on there will come a time she might get even stronger than an ordinary human. hands down RESPECT to Yanagi.

The solution seems so simple: just move on, modern day people, stop holding on to old grudges. But the practice is always so hard. Yanagi carrying the oni bloodline being the reason Soukaku says she smells like sister, while mothering Soukaku is just.... heart wrenching and heart warming at the same time.
This trailer single handedly made me super interested in yanagi’s story. Always thought she was alright. But this? Give me more hoyo! i was still on the fence whether i should pull for burnice or yanagi (i lost my 50/50) and now i am only 15 pulls away to guaranteed yanagi.
• Red and blue onis - The main differences are in terms of temperament, the red ones are impulsive, impatient and violent. The blue ones are more thoughtful, wise and calm, which is an irony because Shoukaku seems like someone quite extroverted, childish and crazy (although it must be mainly because she is young) and her red-skinned sister seemed quite understandable and intelligent, it's like if they had their roles changed. There is also the issue of the horns, the Oni with a single horn are usually weaker (Maybe symbolism of the illness that the sister seemed to suffer from?) two horns represent duality, the opposite and complementary at the same time, an order (That Shoukaku It is an Oni with two horns and not one, perhaps it represents the key that united the two worlds and achieved the path to understanding and peace, now the girl canonically has fan clubs, New Eridu no longer see the oni as a threat). • Keeping his culture alive - Shoukaku's weapon is inspired by a Sashimono, those banners that the samurai carried on their backs, and they contained the heraldry of a respective clan, if you look closely the three spheres present on his weapon are also on the cloth behind Shoukaku's sister, probably a symbol not only of a clan but of an entire race. We also have wooden masks, Shoukaku uses a similar one but made of artificial materials.

I think it's more the lighting and strength,the lightning is rather easy to catch because raijin and fuujin the Japanese lightning and wind god duo is depicted as Onis,the strength because her naginata,the naginata is normal weapon to have if not very fitting for female characters but Tsukishiro's seem to lean more to it's older reputation as strong man weapons the way guan dao (the chinese counter part) are, something that FGO Tomoe also do with her's, tough in her case its easier to pick the implications because her horns
I think the leader of the Oni/Soukaku's sister was dying anyways but yeah I'm not sure why Tsukishiro needed her blood. Maybe it's kinda like a political marriage in our world.
This lore that I saw makes me think that before I started playing ZZZ story, the past of that world was much worse, that there was a world war between species against humans, a whole seinen but now there is peace and everyone unites forces to defeat the corrupt monsters.
