I love Neal Illustrator's blog doing Zeus' POV during 600 men strike. Hephaestus is all, "Uh... your brother is getting his ass kicked, should we do something?" and Zeus goes, "You're right, I am going to add Lightning and thunder, it will look so bad ass."
To remember the prophesies in No Longer You. -I see a song of past romance (Suffering) - I see the sacrifice of man (Scyla) - I see portails of betrayal and a Brothers final stand (Mutiny) - I see you on the brink of death. I see you draw your final breath (Get in the Water) - I see a man that gets to make it home alive... but it's no longer you (Six Hundred Strike) He has now gone full Monster. The Ithaca Saga will include the second verse I see your palace covered in red. Faces of men who have long believed your death. I see your wife with a man who is haunting. A man with a trail of bodies. 🦉 So the Ithaca saga will be fun.
Quick thing, I think I see you on the brink of death is more thunder bringer (or maybe love in paradise) 1 because it would make sense because since almost every other prediction happened in the thunder saga, (and we skip wisdom saga because its told by athena's prespective, or love in paradise because he is literslly on the edge) 2: because it dosent make sense for 2 lines to predict the same moment when all the others dont 3 these are judt my opinions, but it does feel more satisfying
There are a couple more prophecies there in the background chants! One of which is not yet completed! "Siren's song" - Suffering "Scylla's throat" - Scylla "Mutiny" - Mutiny "Lightning bolt" - Thunder Bringer "Run Posaidon"(not confirmed, but pretty clear) - Get In The Water And "Kill all the suitors for love" - Odysseus Also "Brink of death" in my opinion is actually the moment in Love In Paradise where he's on the edge of the cliff.
All I could say is that the song for the most blood is I believe King. Which is where we get to see how it is to face against Ody who is now fully a monster.
Draw your final breath for sure is Get In The Water. There are no doubts at all. It would make sense the song Love in Paradise is the lyrics "I see you on the brink of death." Canonically, that island borders the underworld (at least, so I've heard,) and he did wash ashore. Hell, Calypso literally said, "I swore that you were dead when you washed up on my isle."
Something important that I keep seeing people forget, is that no one died under his command during the war. Not that they didn't die in the journey, 101% mortality there, but the lack of deaths is why it hits him so hard in the story. At least in this version.
Fr, they were coming home with not only a win but like ZERO casualties on his side at least, he was still good graces with Athena. His confidence is probs soaring and his only challenge left was to cross like a small patch of ocean and he'll finally FINALLY be back home... then everything that can go wrong starts to and it starts with his bestest friend too. Shit can break you down
Very not fun fact: The intro of Dangerous is a reprisal of "full speed ahead" with the exception of the call and respond that's why there are huge gaps. An example is "Cause I had one goal in mind", supposedly the response would be "Make it back alive to our homeland" but there is none cuz the whole crew is dead
Also, in Charybdis, Odysseus sings the melody of Storm, which is usually accompanied his crew singing the melody as well, creating: Odysseus: Sto-o-orm! Crew: (Sto-o-orm!) However, in Charybdis, because his crew is dead, that second singing of the melody is noticeably missing, just emphasizing the fact that he's now alone.
5:30 I will never get over the silence that comes after this line. Since there *is no* crew left alive to finish the call-and-responses with Ody, all that’s left is a lonely reprise of Full Speed Ahead accompanied by Ody’s instrument-an acoustic guitar.
16:34 When Poseidon says "I'll take your son and gouge his eyes" he wants to BLIND Telemachus like how Polyphemus (The cyclops) was blinded by Odysseus Oh! And also, during the "stabbing-session" Poseidon's screams of pain were sung because his pain was music to Odysseus's ears.
So, there is a theory that the reason why Ody is able to beat Poseidon and the red eyes is that Ares helped him. Jorge confirmed that Ares has his own Quick Thought where he can induce great rage and greater strength.
2 things do also need to be noted. 1) Jorge has noted that Poseidon in Epic: The Musical is a long range fighter. He doesn't have any powers that help in close range. Nornally this isn't a problem because people can't get close. 2) Gods can and have gotten their asses kicked by mortals. Diomedes stabbed Ares in the leg with some encouragement from Athena. Thanatos got chained up by a random ass king. And now Poseidon got his shit wrecked by a mortal using his own storm against him.
@@stevenhedge2850 it doesn't really take away from Ody? he's a human with a sprinkle of divine blood in him, thanks to great grandpappy Hermes. he really should have no shot against Poseidon. Ares helping Ody would seem to me to be a favor to his sister. my bet is that Athena has recognized Telemachus as her new champion, and Ares has decided to make Odysseus his new champion.
“How am I supposed to get over you?!” I mean, you could always devour a tub of ice cream. That can help with breakups… Even if this wasn’t _really_ a breakup, but you get my point.

I was practically freaking out when I was watching the Livestream. For the past 2 years I've only heard Jorge's demo of get in the water and now that we finally get to hear the finished version I was ecstatic. The music and raw emotion in the voices were amazing along with the animations done for this saga. It'll be bittersweet when the final one releases
It must SUCK getting stabbed with a trident cause the barbs make it so that it's harder to pull out, and it tears the flesh as you pull it out, causing like 10x more damage than the initial stab
The one thing that gets me with Get in the Water is that it was an act of dominance and submission. Poseidon could have just ended him at any time, but that wasn't enough. He needed Odysseus to submit to his will.
this. it wasn't just about killing Ody. if it was, Poseidon would've done it back in Ruthlessness, and he would've done it immediately. this was all about his ego. Odysseus bruised it when he blinded Polyphemus, and Poseidon has held a grudge against him ever since. everything he's done since then has been to humble Odysseus and soothe his own pride.
Six Hundred Strike meme cover where everything is the same except the sound of Odysseus dropping the trident is replaced with the metal pipe sound effect
Morgan Clae's "Get In The Water" audition sound on Tik Tok is how I discovered Epic, so as giggly as you are, imagine how excited I was for this. Like Poseidon, I've been waiting for this moment. For at least a year now.
Bigest red flag in Calypsos song is the onstant "if". "IF I came on to strong", "IF I ambushed you", always just "If, if, if". Never "I'm sorry I did-". Always just "I'm sorry IF I did-"
One bunch of songs at stake It's one saga to make And when it's finished Then our journey's over! No crying on me now Repeat it twice as loud We must witness that day So write write write!
Someone made a meme of if Olympus had an infirmary, and Athena is in one hospital bed because of Zeus going Beast Mode in "God Games" and Poseidon is in the other. "Ody did that to you, didn't he?" "Shut up." 😂
Favorite Details! Not Sorry For Loving You- The background vocals Calypso summons are her voice and Odysseus's. Because those are literally the only voices she knows. Dangerous- Danger has greeted Oddyseus with a smile SO MANY times (Lotus-eaters, Aeolus/Winnons, Circe, etc.) You would think he'd know to watch out by now... Charybdis- Odysseus actually recognizes Ithica. This is somehow just as heart-wrenching as the source material where he washes up on Ithica and doesn't know where he is. Get In The Water- It's so pathetic that Posideon has waited so long to do this. Has he been there since Ruthlessness? Doesn't he have better things to do? - Ody sounds more horrified to hear his wife and son will drown than when he hears that his entire kingdom will drown. -"I'll take your son and gouge his eyes" It all comes full circle. The literal definition of "an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind." - "Maybe you could learn to forgive" is really rich coming from Ody, whose fatal flaw is hubris -Ody and Posideon look similar, as if they were related. Long brown hair, tan complexions, and blue clothing. This similarity speaks to the fact that they are both monsters. -Polities is smiling, while Eurlochus is angry. In Pol's final moments, he wants Ody to live a better life. In Eury's final moments, he wanted Odysseus dead. -You can't really see his mother's face, because Ody wasn't there when she died, so he doesn't know how she looked either. -At the end of Love In Paradise, Ody tries to embrace death. At the end of this song, death embraces him. Both times, he survives, because "he can't afford to die." -Both the type of guitar and the animation style changed when Ody switched from being a man to being a monster. 600 Strike- This is the vengeance saga for multiple reasons. I thought it was because, like in the source, Posideon would enact his revenge. But it's also called Vengence because Ody gets revenge on Posideon. -The final line is about Penelope. Even as a monster, Ody does not forget his wife, his reason for everything he has done. But I fear it is becoming an obsession. Like Aeolus said, Ody believes that the ends really do justify the means.
There's actually a few very fun theories surrounding Get in the water and 600 Strike! 1. Poseidon's screams were harmonizing with Odysseus because after everything he went through with him, they were music to his ears 2. Ares was possessing Odysseus. Ody is Hermes' great grandson, but he's not a demi-god. So yes, he's strong, but not enough. Athena promised Ares that Ody would spill more blood to get home, so he was just paying out on her promise to him by possessing Odysseus and helping him weaken Poseidon
@stevenhedge2850 whether it was full possession or not, Ares had at least some influence. It's been dissected and deciphered by the community, and it's really fun and interesting to see people picking up on it :)
This is a major departure from the Odyssey. The gods specifically time his escape from Calypso's island while Poseidon is away (in Ethiopia I think) so he comes back to see Odysseus on the escape and tosses him around like a ragdoll, the goddesses Athena and Ino help Odysseus out and he manages to escape into the mouth of a river (on Scheria). In the Epic, the story starts after Calypso's island, we find Odysseus in Scheria where he tells the Phaeacians first about how he ended up on their island from Calypso's island. Charybdis swallowed his raft and he survived by clinging to a fig tree growing on a rock, Charybdis spat out enough of his raft to carry him to where Poseidon sees him [see above] After telling the Phaecians about his journey from Calypso'ss island they agree to give him passage to Ithaca, and beg him to tell them how he ended up at Calypso's from Troy, so he tells them everything before that. I really love this kind of nested narration that is very common in ancient and classical literature. We do not get direct in the moment narration of the encounter with Polyphemus, we get Odysseus's after the fact report on it, we get the version of the story Odysseus himself tells about a decade after the fact. Edit: ammended comment to reflect the fact that there is a confrontation between Odysseus and Poseidon, but nothing like Epic's version.
@@MartianTechAdept he was invited to a feast. Mind you that Ethiopia is not the country Ethiopia that we know today, but a general term that the Greeks used to refer to Africa/land where people with darker skin than Greeks lived.
@@composeyourself3 Not all of Africa mind you. Pretty sure the Greeks called the continent "Libya". Aethiopia was a "Libyan" kingdom in their thinking, probably Nubia as their references place it South of Egypt. Perseus goes there too... he saves Andromeda from the sea monster Cetus and gets himself a wife.
Poseidon is in Ethiopia! It's because those guys were having a festival (probably honoring Poseidon) that he showed up to. Poseidon royally screwed him up afterwards though, Get in the Water would have sent him to Phaecia if he hadn't gone Different Beast mode. The Odyssey even states during the beatdown that if Athena hadn't been helping him out, he would have died.
5:19 one thing I find interesting about calypso’s song is that she never actually apologizes for anything she did- she’s giving a half-hearted apology, basically saying “I’m sorry you feel that way” instead of “I’m sorry I tried to trap you here.” It feels like she’s trying to guilt trip Odysseus into choosing to stay. I think she’s just as morally grey as Odysseus, but puts on an innocent facade. It’s not just Odysseus trying to hurt her- it’s them trying to hurt each other.
Since i already talk abt this everywhere, i will do so here aswell Calypso's situation is f-ed up, yes, her story is sad and all, but she's still a goddess, with powers way above Odysseus, and the way she chose to go through with this "love" for him was keep him trapped on her island for 7 or more years and well... sa him throughout those years, and since she's a goddess he literally had no other choice. This song is also very much her seeing herself as the only victim in this scenario, and basically blaming Odysseus for everything, trying to manipulate him to stay with her. It's very much giving what narcissistic people say to get out of a situation that isn't in their favor While Calypso's story is sad, I wish that more people realised that she's, in fact, horrible, and what she did is unforgivable
I won’t argue that what she did was messed up, but she didn’t keep him trapped. She could not have gotten him off her isle even if she wanted to Nobody comes or goes, both were unable to leave until Athena wins Ody’s right to leave in God Games
I genuinely cannot hear I'm not Sorry for Loving You as anything but emotional manipulation, her trying one last thing to make him stay, or make him the bad guy for leaving. That could be just a me thing though.
@@theironarmada1308Now, even though I think that Calypso hate is a bit out of hand, in this particular point, Athena even says in Love in Paradise that “for seven years she’s kept you trapped out of your control”. So Calypso *was* keeping him there.
I won't argue that she's definitely not a good guy but jorge confirmed that this version of calypso did not SA ody. She was just hard-core friendzoned and went full nice guy for 7 years 😅 Still manipulative and petty until the end in typical m'lady fedora tipping fashion.
25:09 Fun fact: Jorge and his dad built that booth together! You can see the progress in a series on Jays channel, it’s called “Dad and Jorge build a booth”! :D
I'm not surprised he didn't realize it was Athena who fought for him. I mean, he's still self-aware enough to understand how shitty he was in their last interaction.
I think its because she left. She had made it very clear that she wanted nothing to do with him, cutting contact. He didn’t believe she would come back, considering how much they both said in the heat if the moment ^^
out of every reaction to this saga only one person pointed out that in 600 strike Odysseus breaks the rules of this world with the "600 men" in the background nobody's there to sing that and the gods are the only ones who can summon background vocals out of nowhere so that proves that monster Odysseus has the power of a god
I'll be real... that only just now clicked in my head. This whole time, I was too lost in the epicness and sheer "whaaaa?!?" of the song. But thinking back... makes sense.
@@kacper140900 the thing with that is you are forgetting the prophecy saying he draws his final breath and makes it home it is clear with that he is no longer a regular mortal and that part of the song shows it
"He's not the same Odysseus, that's gonna be the way out of this." Just you wait. You have no idea. He's not even Odysseus even more. He's the Monster. Poseidon came prepared for the wrong foe.
Fun fact: When he said he can't, and proceed to say "ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves" you can actually hear polyphemus voice with his own, symbolizing why he can't let it go.
15:36 Odysseus doesn’t actually make it to Ithaca in either of those ways! His raft gets destroyed in a storm created by Poseidon and he nearly drowns (same as Epic) but he actually gets saved by Ino and washes up on Phaeacia where he is discovered by Nausicaa and brought to King Alcinous who helps him get back to Ithaca after he tells the story of his journey home.
Athena promised Ares that Odysseus would make the whole world bleed to get home. I absolutely believe Ares gave at least a small bit of influence to his sister's champion to help him survive the ocean shattering. Just enough to open the darkness in his heart and release the monster.
@@djmewtwo6981I’m guessing they mean the wind bag, Odysseus officially turning into the Monster, and the insane wounds he gave Poseidon. Like, he stabbed that man _in the throat._ You can hear the gurgling

Post Vid- This was just as good as I thought it would be, great job on the vid and I can't wait to see you react to the various animatics that come out. My favourite part of this saga was definitely the end, just seeing Pussyeidon get stabbed by his own trident while Ody was basically just venting was so good, I had a smile on my face the entire time.
... The guy did just threaten he'll gouge out Telemachus' eyes, so I can't really be disappointed in Ody for turning the Ruthlessness Dial up to 11 on Poseidon for being a menace to his son. >)':^/
That is charybdis she is Poseidons daughter who was mutated into what we see her now that’s why Poseidon doesn’t go near Scylla because it brings up bad memories of how he lost his daughter or how his daughter was hurt and he couldn’t prevent it
12:13 Charybdis is Poseidon's daughter who was cursed to be a monster with an insatiable thirst for the ocean! 3 times a day at that. The closer he is to her mouth, the further away the blast will be! A very minor creature in The Odyssey but she's, objectively, more terrifying than Scylla!
Ofc she is, why else would Ody in the og odyssey choose Scylla over Charybdis, 6 men compared to everyone, Circe herself suggested not to ever go near Chary, she's such a silly lil monster, I love her
"I'm not sorry for loving you" can very easily be a villain song. The lyric "sorry my love is too much for you" sang in any other tone comes off very preditorial and victim blaming. Calypso is not getting any sympathy from me. Hermes appearance, like many character looks in Epic are based off the people that voice them. In Hermes case it's Troy Doherty
villain song so well done people fall for the villain's manipulation. it's honestly kind of a masterclass in how abusers turn things around to paint themselves as victims
I was thinking the exact same. The entire song is not her feeling sorry but her still persuading ody by manipulating emotions and the gigi animation for this shoe exactly that. Not to mention lyrics like "I would say I was wrong" do not mean that she is sorry for all she done to ody but rather she is like "I agree with you but do not believe I am in the wrong at all" or her not letting ody talk so he had no time to doubt her words. And also her impatient attitude grow with every lyric showing her persuasion do not work. Also she ask ody to lie to her, he did exactly that and she have a temptrom and if she was not sorry for loving him why she say "I hate that I fall in love with you" if you are not sorry you should not feel hatred for the feeling eather and accept the truth and let him go. Like I personally do not understand why the fandom look at this and the animation and are all "poor calypso"
Yeah, you can be a victim and still be an abuser, it explains her actions more, but it doesn't excuse them. I like that even though she's trying to apologize, it still feels like she's blaming him, and when he tries to speak she snaps at him and just keeps going, and how Odysseus doesn't look back when he leaves. It shows you can still feel sorry for her without forgiving her. A lot of people don't seem to be catching that and think this is trying to redeem her, which it doesn't if you look into the language that's used in the song
@@sorinamarcu5357 can you imagine being alone on the island for so long, while you are immortal and can't leave? Finally someone appeared on your island and you fall in love with them, but it's not mutual. And then they leave, so you'll be alone again for god know how long. Idk about you, but to me part "I hate that I fall in love with you" looks very reasonable and even somewhat relatable. Also, it's not "I would say I was wrong", it's "I'll say I was wrong" and for me it seems like literally admitting the guilt. If it's not, then I have no idea how admitting the guilt should look like. I feel like you forget that emotions exist, tbh, I genuinely feel bad for Calypso.
@thehexagon_yt A man arrives unconscious, and her first instinct is to make love with him despite him telling you to leave him alone, toxic behaviour from the start. Also, idk about you, but if I was on an island alone from civilization, I would be the happiest person alive. Also, even if she said, "I'll say i was wrong," instead of "I would say I was wrong," the same meaning remains for me: I say what you would want me to do it but I do not mean it at all. If you feel empathetic for her, good for you. I have no bone in me to feel that way for a song with double meaning like this one.
Some people hated the jetpack. I hate that the crew he betrayed is apparently now helping him fight Poseidon. Even the six he outright murdered, apparently. This is also completely throwing out the rule that the dead who were not given the proper drachma-in-mouth burial are stuck in limbo (as we saw in "The Underworld"). (Also, if Anticlea died of a broken heart, which is an actual thing that can happen, why was the mother of the king of Ithaca not given a proper burial? Why was she in limbo?)
I don't hate the jetpack - I do hate the fact he used it as a jetpack rather than to open a hole in the waves and disarm Poseidon (Which was what I imagined when first listening because it's a Wind bag how would you even control the flow of air to make it allow you to fly for long enough). You can't really make the jetpack idea work that well in a proper musical while also doing swordclashes. Regardless it could just be interpreted that Ody is seeing everyone who died because he's drowning - and thus halucinating from a lack of oxygen.
One fun thing i noticed rewatching the live is that at the start of Get In The Water, around the 14 minute mark here, the artist drew a face in the water!
Hermes is also Ody’s great grandfather! Hermes’ demigod son Autolycus was his maternal grandfather and was a known trickster and thief. His name means “The Wolf Itself” and is why Odysseus and Telemachus are referred to as wolves in Ruthlessness and Little Wolf. Odysseus gets his cunning and tricky side from them!
6:01 this is closer to the singer and va for hermes look than a true depiction. Think of it like with Polites, where polites only has glasses in the animatics because his singer/va wears glasses.
Cant speak for others but Jorge's version of get in the water was the reason this got on my radar, that and all the animatics people were making of its half finished version. Came for Get in the Water Stayed for 600 strike, now im hooked in and waiting for King.
The red eyes are theorized to be Ares giving Oddy a push so he could get home and do the bloodshed Athena promised Ares in god game. Ares would be the god to empower a violent and brutal man like Odysseus has become.
@@oligb1469 too bad the red eyes have always symbolized the monster and not ares and the song has no evidence of ares instrument or motif in at all so no
Ive seen a few other animate it as though the 600 strikes were from the souls of the dead that Hermes put into the bag knowing that Ody had to open it.
I still think Ares was helping out Ody in six hundred strike. There was a short Jay made a while ago about his version of Quick Thought where he… I think taps into your darkest side in a battle or something? Also just because no mortal can defeat Poseidon one on one without divine help. Poseidon may have also just been weakened because he defied the will of Zeus, the literal only non primordial God that’s stronger than him.

I have a coworker who imtroduced the Musical to me several months ago. He came in today at the beginning of our shift (We clocked in at the same time), and I asked if he saw the EPIC livestream. He did, and he complained about how sh-tty the animatics were. He hated that the ending was so anime. The worst thing he said was that the 3d animation was dogsh-t. Lastly, he complained that he didn't want to see Hermes twerking. His words, not mine. I thought that everything was pretty good, though the 3D segment definitely needs to be improved.
I get why other people might not vibe with this saga as much as the Wisdom saga, but besides the 3D animation (which still conveyed the general vision and got me hyped as hell to see other animators approach it), I personally really enjoyed this saga. Plus it had Charybdis, my favorite instrumental in ALL OF EPIC. PERIOD,
The way I interpret 600 strike is that the spirits of his slain men, who were never given the proper rites to cross the river Styx in the Underworld, lent Ody their power so he could overcome Poseidon in that moment, where he was at least a little weakened after unleashing his ultimate move (which is super coded in Whitebeard from One Piece 😂).
havent seen anyone reaction point out poseidons face smiling below ody's raft before he shows up behind him yet, its so perfect since he was happy that ody finally was within reach of Ithaca just to see his face devoid of hope
Odysseus should've kept Poseidon's trident. One look at him holding it would send all 108 suitors running. If he managed to take a god's signature weapon, they have no shot, and they'd know it.
A lot of people are intrigued by the characters' looks, when I am pretty sure a lot of the artists use their voice actors as inspiration for their design. Hermes in vengeance is definitely pulled from Troy Doherty, his VA
Listen. I have to rant somewhere about this and you are welcome to disagree. Just need to get my thoughts out there for a moment. I hate Calypso. I understand that it’s really hard to get cast out at a young age and being stuck all alone, I get that. However. To fall in love on sight with a mortal man and sticking it up his nose that even if he tried he couldn’t get rid of her, to taunt him that he’s stuck there with her, is not just rude, it’s cruel. She didn’t just come on too strong, she pushed him, she didn’t just ambush him, she overwhelmed him, her love isn’t too much, she’s literally love bombing him and plainly ignoring that he says he’s married and not interested. So cruel. I’m just talking about Epic Calypso here, mind you. And I get that it was unfair of Zeus to just put her there and forget about her, which I’m pretty sure he did until he needed a place to rid himself of Odysseus as well. I just don’t think that justifies any of her behavior. And to go oh I’m sorry if I pushed you, if my love is too much BUT I’m not sorry for loving you basically nullifies her apology and continues to trample on his feelings. So yeah. I don’t like her. I’m willing to die on this hill. Please respect my opinion as I will yours. Ima continue watching now, thank you for bothering with my rambling 😅
Calypso is honestly a horrible person in the source material, and it definitely isn't a much better version here. So frankly, I see no fault to your hatred.
Some of these animations draw the characters as the people voicing them, like Hermes looking like Troy (the voice of hermes), ody looking like Jorge, and Polites having glasses like Steven
He officially has his whole family in Epic. I was wondering how he'd get his sister in. I was thinking AS Odysseus's sister, but since Eurylochus was her husband, that'd be a bit... awkward, considering Odysseus basically murdered him to save his own ass.
Check out the HERMES (and Jay) series in Jorge's shorts, you'll see just how much fun they had with Hermes there 😂 Jorge's recording studio was built by his dad. His family is really full of very, very talented people! I hope EPIC really does end up on a stage and that the musical gets spread around the world because I really want to see this live! And a movie version, too, just hope they do it better than Phantom of the Opera 😅

I want to point one thing about god games. Nobody seemed to have noticed this at the end of the song. Zeus said to release odysius. Anyone else who noticed that?
I realy like his response as before Odysseus was questioning how others sleep at night after the terrible things they've done despite the reasons for the deeds yet now he just doesn't care anymore it's been 20 years and he just wants his wife back he doesn't care about anything else and so has finaly got his answer
Thank you for pointing out that mortals harming gods is a thing that can happen in Greek myths. They're gods, but polytheistic gods aren't the same as a monotheistic god. They're not omniscient, not omnipotent, and not limitless. Even if immortal, they can be wounded, disabled even. They can be tired, they make mistakes, they can be tricked and surprised. Not to mention gods operate on different rules than humans. What might seem trivial to a human might be an insurmountable obstacle to a god. Like how they couldn't take fire back once Prometheus handed it out. That simply wasn't something they could do.
I don’t know if it was just me, but I thought I saw Ody’s eyes go wide after the lightning lit up Poseidon’s body/wounds. Like he was shocked by what he was capable of. As if to say: “holy crap… I did that…” Like all the rage and adrenaline just snapped out of him in that moment.
Sounds like a victim BUT in this story she is not the victim and if it wasn't for the Hermes coming and telling her to let him go she would still be like ✨loooOveee in paradise ✨ sooo " why would you love me too ?" yeah sad but we know them emotional gaslighters

To remember the prophesies in No Longer You.
-I see a song of past romance (Suffering)
- I see the sacrifice of man (Scyla)
- I see portails of betrayal and a Brothers final stand (Mutiny)
- I see you on the brink of death. I see you draw your final breath (Get in the Water)
- I see a man that gets to make it home alive... but it's no longer you (Six Hundred Strike)
He has now gone full Monster.
The Ithaca Saga will include the second verse
I see your palace covered in red. Faces of men who have long believed your death. I see your wife with a man who is haunting. A man with a trail of bodies. 🦉
So the Ithaca saga will be fun.
The Owl got a shoutout😂
Quick thing, I think I see you on the brink of death is more thunder bringer (or maybe love in paradise)
1 because it would make sense because since almost every other prediction happened in the thunder saga, (and we skip wisdom saga because its told by athena's prespective, or love in paradise because he is literslly on the edge)
2: because it dosent make sense for 2 lines to predict the same moment when all the others dont
3 these are judt my opinions, but it does feel more satisfying
There are a couple more prophecies there in the background chants! One of which is not yet completed!
"Siren's song" - Suffering
"Scylla's throat" - Scylla
"Mutiny" - Mutiny
"Lightning bolt" - Thunder Bringer
"Run Posaidon"(not confirmed, but pretty clear) - Get In The Water
And
"Kill all the suitors for love" - Odysseus
Also "Brink of death" in my opinion is actually the moment in Love In Paradise where he's on the edge of the cliff.
Also, in Charybdis, Odysseus sings the melody of Storm, which is usually accompanied his crew singing the melody as well, creating:
Odysseus: Sto-o-orm!
Crew: (Sto-o-orm!)
However, in Charybdis, because his crew is dead, that second singing of the melody is noticeably missing, just emphasizing the fact that he's now alone.
@@localsoul9760 😭
@@localsoul9760I didn’t even realise that 😢

So, there is a theory that the reason why Ody is able to beat Poseidon and the red eyes is that Ares helped him. Jorge confirmed that Ares has his own Quick Thought where he can induce great rage and greater strength.
The red eyes! I never even thought of that!
I hate assuming ares helps because it takes away Odysseus and the gods really shouldn’t help fighting gods like this after Troy

The literal definition of "an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind."
- "Maybe you could learn to forgive" is really rich coming from Ody, whose fatal flaw is hubris
-Ody and Posideon look similar, as if they were related.
Both times, he survives, because "he can't afford to die."
-Both the type of guitar and the animation style changed when Ody switched from being a man to being a monster.
Poseidon asks how he will sleep at night, and all I can think of is the commercial "On a mattress, from MattressFirm."
There's actually a few very fun theories surrounding Get in the water and 600 Strike!
1. Poseidon's screams were harmonizing with Odysseus because after everything he went through with him, they were music to his ears
Except the red eyes always symbolizes the “monster” not ares
@stevenhedge2850 whether it was full possession or not, Ares had at least some influence. It's been dissected and deciphered by the community, and it's really fun and interesting to see people picking up on it :)
Good sir the bloodshed that Athena Promised Ares, that Ody would do comes when he slaughters the suitors.

There’s also Poseidon “drowning” and gasping for air when Ody says that he didn’t stop when he begged. Listen here to hear it. 22:37
Why was Poseidon in Ethiopia of all places?
@@MartianTechAdept he was invited to a feast. Mind you that Ethiopia is not the country Ethiopia that we know today, but a general term that the Greeks used to refer to Africa/land where people with darker skin than Greeks lived.
I personally like to think that epic's poseidon was still invited, but he was too petty and refuse so he could wait for Odysseus

Calypso's situation is f-ed up, yes, her story is sad and all, but she's still a goddess, with powers way above Odysseus, and the way she chose to go through with this "love" for him was keep him trapped on her island for 7 or more years and well... sa him throughout those years, and since she's a goddess he literally had no other choice. This song is also very much her seeing herself as the only victim in this scenario, and basically blaming Odysseus for everything, trying to manipulate him to stay with her. It's very much giving what narcissistic people say to get out of a situation that isn't in their favor
While Calypso's story is sad, I wish that more people realised that she's, in fact, horrible, and what she did is unforgivable

That is charybdis she is Poseidons daughter who was mutated into what we see her now that’s why Poseidon doesn’t go near Scylla because it brings up bad memories of how he lost his daughter or how his daughter was hurt and he couldn’t prevent it
12:13
Charybdis is Poseidon's daughter who was cursed to be a monster with an insatiable thirst for the ocean!
At the end of the stream I said, "TALYA, MAKE THIS MAN SLEEP!" 🤣
I mean, how can you NOT jam along to "Dangerous"? I highly recommend you check out the snippet he released a while ago of it. It's fun.

14:04 the sea is showing a shadow of posident’s face love that..!!!
Not to mention seeing Poseidons face on the surface of the water before he actually rises out of the ocean
@@kairasendo1175 if that was the plan the musical failed to show it ares instrument and motif isn’t in the song at all so I don’t think that was intended at all
Idk, in the Illiad, on eof the greeks fought ares himself 1v1 and won, so its possible for mortls to kick a gods ass, but in this case ya Posiedon isn't a slouch and he ould probably needs some help xD
@ I mean, no offense to Ares. He’s still a God, but in the myths he’s kind of one of the weaker olympians.
The first saga came out on Christmas day 2022. The last saga will come out Christmas day 2024. They have all come out on holidays. Be ready!
Oh yeah no I loved everything but the 3d part, plus I live for Hermes throwing it back
@ChickenOverdriveOfficial Hermes is awesome!!
PERIOD,
That's sort of disappointing to hear
@Blue-100 Yeah, I was honestly surprised that he said all that.
The way I interpret 600 strike is that the spirits of his slain men, who were never given the proper rites to cross the river Styx in the Underworld, lent Ody their power so he could overcome Poseidon in that moment, where he was at least a little weakened after unleashing his ultimate move (which is super coded in Whitebeard from One Piece 😂).
it was actually Jorge's own mother who voices and sings Ody's mom
havent seen anyone reaction point out poseidons face smiling below ody's raft before he shows up behind him yet, its so perfect since he was happy that ody finally was within reach of Ithaca just to see his face devoid of hope
I entirely agree, especially given that she REPEATEDLY ASSAULTS HIM in the original story and presumably offscreen in epic
I think that’s why Odysseus seems entirely unmoved by the entire song, and just calmly sails away.
Calypso is honestly a horrible person in the source material, and it definitely isn't a much better version here. So frankly, I see no fault to your hatred.
If i could i would enter the screen and pull a six handred men on her abusive ass. You are NOT alone in your hate
The middle minion is doing the Elmo fire pose I thought you would notice it's so cute with the Princess Peach outfit😂
Oh that's why😮 9:42 that😅 makes so much sense
There's no way you said "he has the power of god and anime" and Jorge made EXACTLY that meme like the day after the livestream LMFAO
fun fact Jorge actually built his own vocal booth with his dad!
... The man had Hephaestus himself help him build a personal sonarium! He truly is The Chosen One! >)X^D
Some of these animations draw the characters as the people voicing them, like Hermes looking like Troy (the voice of hermes), ody looking like Jorge, and Polites having glasses like Steven
I don't know if one one has said it but all of the official character designs are based on the voice actors/singers
He officially has his whole family in Epic. I was wondering how he'd get his sister in. I was thinking AS Odysseus's sister, but since Eurylochus was her husband, that'd be a bit... awkward, considering Odysseus basically murdered him to save his own ass.
Check out the HERMES (and Jay) series in Jorge's shorts, you'll see just how much fun they had with Hermes there 😂
Jorge's recording studio was built by his dad. His family is really full of very, very talented people!
I hope EPIC really does end up on a stage and that the musical gets spread around the world because I really want to see this live! And a movie version, too, just hope they do it better than Phantom of the Opera 😅
Did you notice in charybdis, ody knock off some of his raft to make it smaller😊
There's also the theory that Ody's red eyes are an indication of Ares' Dark Quick Thought, where he was empowered by the courage/rage of 600 men.
@@CorvidQueen319 too bad there’s no proof of that no ares motif or instrument and the red eyes are symbolic of the monster throughout the story and never ares
[34. GET IN THE WATER]
"Ah . . . that's why"
Y E A H
The problem isn't Poseidon being hurt, it's that it breaks the entire narrative of the musical so far.
@@spiderlily723 agree to disagree there
"So if you don't have much to say", says Odysseus in the only song in the musical that is not a duet.
Six Hundred Strike really got me emotional when he was stabbing Poseidon shouting about his friends.
I don’t know if it was just me, but I thought I saw Ody’s eyes go wide after the lightning lit up Poseidon’s body/wounds. Like he was shocked by what he was capable of.
As if to say: “holy crap… I did that…”
Like all the rage and adrenaline just snapped out of him in that moment.
Sounds like a victim BUT in this story she is not the victim and if it wasn't for the Hermes coming and telling her to let him go she would still be like ✨loooOveee in paradise ✨ sooo " why would you love me too ?" yeah sad but we know them emotional gaslighters
