next video phantera vs dynamic TBK
You are one of the guys who made me quit my old job and chase that dream of mine that I ve always had , making money out of something that I truly enjoy doing feels so different… it’s so relaxing, I feel at peace , mostly because I get to do what I ve always wanted to do since I was a kid , you might not realise it but because of what you are doing my whole life changed , I m more relaxed , I get more free time and more money. I will always be grateful for that.I m still new to this but I feel like I m heading the right way, thanks for helping me start this journey .
WOW that is Amazing to hear Raul it truly inspires me to continue and is just an amazing thing to hear. So awesome that you have more free time with your kids and money in the pocket. But most importantly the peace that comes with that. Thank you for sharing this with me Raul and I wish you the very best of luck my friend. Thank you for the support and GOD BLESS!!🤘🙏🤘
Great same way
👍❤️
So how is it after a year of your comment? 🥹 That was the time when I got my Sol nova and start to tattoo (it was privat yes but I had a Mentor who lost his Studio, has now a new one and dont want me, but now I am at a "familie" that welcomed me with a warm and kind heart :) )
My personal experience I notice the difference when using it for grey wash. Triple black uses more pigment and the pigment itself is processed a lot finer. That’s why triple black lines tend to spread more over time as opposed to standard black. The pigment particle is finer which makes it move under the skin easier. Because the particles are finer they create a much richer and smoother grey wash. Now for longevity purposes triple black grey wash fades quicker through out the years because your body can release the pigment particles easier. Dynamic regular black has a larger particle size so that’s why it holds up so well throughout the years and also is harder to really saturate solid. Rule of thumb, if it goes in easy, it comes out easy
Any thoughts on the Dynamic Blackout? I like Dynamic and want to keep using it. I would like something super dark for linning purposes.
Hello brother, so what are you trying to say that for a greywash it is better to use normal black ink and not triple black?
I love that you sacrifice your leg for your art and channel. Props to you brother and I love the videos. I don’t even tattoo, just a collector of tattoos.
Thank you so much Chris I appreciate the fact that you appreciate it lol. Great to know collectors are educating themselves as well. Thank you again for the support Chris!!🤘🙏🤘
Before I put anything into my client's skin, I really like try it out myself''
As a tattoo collector, man I LOVE hearing that from an artist!! Big props for that mentality and philosophy, way to go :
I’m glad to hear the client you appreciate that. Because sometimes it does suck to have to test things out on yourself but at the same time it’s the right thing to do. So thank you Pablo for the support I truly appreciate it!🙏🤘
@@ArtSomething Just discovered your channel by the way, I'm having a great time exploring it with all the different subjects. Very informative and cool stuff, great work man! Keep it up :)
Bro really packed black blobs into his legs for us. TBH I see like no difference.. especially since most people are gonna be viewing a tattoo at a distance where you can't see a 1% change in gradient.
I use triple black for lining and shading and use Zuper Black by intense for packing because it's much thicker and heals more solid. I have heard and seen only good things about Panthera Ink too. Great video! All the best from Uruguay!!!
I’m seeing less light reflection on the TB but it could just b the angle
triple BLK for lining and Standard BLK for shading. That's what I've been doing as well.
Yeah I think that might be a decent idea. At least then the bottle wont go to waste. Thanks for watching Randy I appreciate the support! 🤘🙏
@@ArtSomething isnt the 3x thicker? I like my normal Dynamic for linning
@@vohiii you are correct. The triple black is thicker. It has a more dense consistency.
Same
I really want to know this difference on dark skin! Iam getting triple black as I mostly tattoo on dark skin, with white skin no problem but with dark skin iam always looking for improvements even if the difference is tiniest between inks
Wheww... the dedication is visceral.
Thanks for another awesome video Dave. I asked you this question months ago I believe, and you replied that you're going to make a a video soon and I'm so happy we finally have it. Really appreciate all the work and effort you're putting in these videos. And to you question in the video, I personally hardly see any difference. I think people only gonna notice a slight difference in both only when you tell them that these inks are different. So doesn't seems worth it.
Thanks again for the videos.
Thank you so much for your support my friend and sorry it’s taken so long to get this video put together. I blame it on the healing process as I wanted to make sure these were truly truly healed with plenty plenty of time. And yeah not a lot of a difference in my opinion a bit but not enough to make any huge changes.
Since I've switched to triple black, I've noticed my tribals or solid black areas, have been more solid, and black. I really like it, but standard black is good too. Don't ask me why, but I've had good luck with the tripple
thank you for this video. it confirms that i need to just use dynamic. i feel like to me it's like when you use concetrate colors, like blue conc i can never stop the fuzzy blow out around the lines. but the second i bought this triple black, i've started seeing clients come back with small small fuzzy stain behind their linework. the same machine, same needles i've been using for the past half decade.
They look both the same to me. Thanks for the video. 👍🏻
Yeah not much of a difference. Thanks for the support Derkoi appreciate it!🤘🙏
I’d like to see a comparison of white, triple white and heavy white. The only difference I’ve been able to see is the viscosity. One of them, either the triple or the heavy, is like a paste it’s so thick. I went back to the regular white but I’d like to see you test it, thanks!
Being new to tattooing, I started with Dynamic Black because it seems to be the standard go to black. Unfortunately I don’t see a difference and can’t justify the extra expense. I plan on trying Panthera ink because from what I have seen it looks to be the darkest black out there. 🙏poppy
Yeah I tried a few black before dynamic but stuck with dynamic. I too see next to no difference between the black and triple black. I have not tried Panthera ink yet.... I might have to look into them and maybe test them out as well. Thank you for sharing that Poppy and thank you for watching and supporting the channel! 🤘🙏🤘
@@ArtSomethingThank You for your service and Thank You for going the extra mile for your subscribers. I really appreciate all you do for us!🙏
@@poppylovestattooing-u8m I heard very good about Panthora ink
Man I swear you got cameras on me, great timing as usual! Probably just a marketing gimmick on triple black.
Semper Fi
Dude I just switched back to dynamics regular black from triple black and I can’t tell a difference at all. I will say that the triple black likes to blowout when you outline with it. But hey man thanks for makin this vid cause it totally validated my opinion…for me anyway
Triple black makes less of a blowout....it's thicker ink....
Awesome video 👏🏻 would you consider doing a test what white ink is the best ? Which white ink heals the best 😀
What about the union black by dynamic
i think maybe is about shading not blocking, im not an expert on tattooing, but i think the idea its to stand proof o'time on shadding
Thank you soooo much for this!!! I definitely see a bit of difference between those and within a picture. I will incorporate triple black but only for my most important dark areas. Like white but on the opposite direction. Thank you so much again!!
I’d say the triple is darker, but it’s very subtle. Would love to see how white ink looks over that
Nice video bro. I use the triple black for my lining. Then I just use allegory black for shading. You can tell a huge difference in tone
I have heard a few people like the triple black for lining and I could see that being a great way to use the bottle of triple black that I now have. I have yet to try allegory black but may have to look into it. thanks for sharing Joshua!🤘
Echoing the Allegory - good for shading.
@@ArtSomething I use the allegory because it's fairly affordable and it's vegan. Which I thought was cool. But the allegory white doesn't fade as much as dynamic in my opinion
For me, creating a grey wash with TBLK is way harder. Diluting it isn’t as easy because you got to add extra drops. Also, I feel like triple black kind a has a shiny look to it while tattooing it
That is a great point Tony. I think I will stick with regular black for my washes and maybe triple for my black. But to be honest just not that much of a difference to really make me want to change anything up. Thanks again for sharing tony much appreciated!🤘🙏🤘
Hello brother, so what are you trying to say that for a greywash it is better to use normal black ink and not triple black?
@@zenyfilmsramboin my opinion yes
@@Bigtonyeverything thanks my brother
I've never really liked dynamic anyhow ... might try the different between allegory blak and either world famous black out or intense zuper black
Great point I might continue to test different blacks out and see how they compare.... I guess you never know what you might find out. Thanks for watching Double D!🤘🙏
Allegory and Intenze are junk imo.
@@ArtSomething thanks for putting put videos like this and all your how to videos .. they are very informative and I love how you break things down unlike other artist on RUclips...when I have other artist wanting to learn I send em your way every time!
@@kennyberg1395 allegory is my go to black how thin it is its great for a all round black and holds up over time without getting that blueish or greenish tint .. and I personally never tried intense but I know thier zuper black is supposed to be one of the darker blacks ... I typically stick to allegory, starbrite, and eternal
@@gigglestick7395 to me its way too thin and not consistent.
I already found that out with some polynesian work, absolute no difference. It is a marketing thing, they want you to buy the much more expensive tripple black.
I also did the comparison with Dynamic white and tripple white, the only thing that I noticed is that the tripple white a little bit easier is to get in but definately not worth the extra money. Great video👍🏻🤙🏻
YEah i was kinda shocked to see how similar they really where. I think it may be a marketing thing... not really sure. I think I will stick with regular black as its not enough of a difference to deal with what seems to be maybe a slightly thicker pigment. I have yet to try the white set up but I may just have to test that out as well. Thanks for sharing your experience Spyke and I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel! 🤘🙏🤘
It's the same price where at my supplier lol.
@@Mannerpoops at Barber DTS my supplier the difference is €.10,00 excl. vat
Hello sir.
Which one is better for lining? I’m not heavy handed.
And are any of em good for both lining and filling?
Well that answers my questions then, won't be getting the Triple Black any time soon especially with the extra expense, no noticeable difference really other than maybe the regular black heals a touch lighter, though that could just be a placebo effect 🤔.
Yeah not much of a difference in my opinion either. I think the triple might be a bit darker but not much and not sure its worth the extra cost as well. THanks for watching and supporting the channel Doc its much appreciated! 🤘🙏
I assume it would be ok to do your grey wash as well with the TBK? since it’s basically the same tone
@@swervv2957 apparently, as its more dense than the original dynamic black; it takes more diluting for the same result, so sticking to the standard dynamic black would probably be more ideal 👍.
@@GiantWinegum I agree most definitely. What a scam Dynamic is for leading us to believe there’s some significant difference in inks other than the harder time having to lay it in the skin and price!
@@swervv2957 Im not so certain that it is a scam or clever marketing; it could hold better in the skin over time or need less working to get solidly saturated, however having never used it I couldn’t say for sure. Maybe Dave could tell us if it was any easier to get into the skin without over working the area?
I personally feel like the OG black is just as good when up against the triple black. I also believe this is due to marketing sorta like at the store you'll see name brand and store brand.
I agree with you here I think this has to do with marketing as well. As the triple black might be just slightly darker maybe it’s definitely not worth making any changes.
As a Tattooer The regular Black is good for Shading. The Triple Blk is good for dark outlines
Hey! for us in EU you should have compared the new union black from dynamic aswell, to check what happened in looks from when it's reach compliant now. Love your vids!
Great point Simon I may look into getting some of the unicorn black and testing that out to see how it compares.
@@ArtSomething it would be very interresting and it's a HUGE thing we need here in EU. Ive tried the new World famous, and the IAMINK, everything looks "mat" and wiard, compared to old... So it would be extremely helpfull, since if good results most people in eu would probably buy it, but right now we are sticking to what "somewhat" works for us.
i think it depends on the skin, the reason why i use triple black is for darkers tones of skin.
Cheers mate, mmmm maybe t black in last pic looked slightly more packed but dunno first off it looked like not worth changing but mmm again.
Can you compare them with the Dynamic Union black too? what is the difference?? Thanks
I think that it suppose to really shows on dark skin, you should try it
been waiting for this! thanks!
Glad I was finally able to get this out. And thank you for the support my friend!
Looks the same but tbk has like a blue hint to me in person
yeah I kinda noticed the same thing.
Can you show us which cup of drop you choose to every shade ,and you clean the needle between every cup ?
I think the real difference comes in grey wash. Triple black has more ink so i would think it would be easier to get more tones out of it? Ive also heard its a little easier to wipe off, is that true?
thanks for the video !!! it helps me a lot. and would you make a video for one year later or more ?
Yeah I will deff make a vid showing it after one year. I was just looking at it today and can already see that the triple black is appearing darker then it was.
I always use blk and i am very satisfied with it. If you go for triple black you can't go wrong with it
I stuck with triple black because the coverage is great.
Almost never have any patch spots even if it looks patchy fresh it sets in black black.
Can really see the difference a little while after the tattoos done.
The new reach laws in Europe really suck
There’s no time tested blacks
Thanks for the video Dave. Love the content.
No problem contrasted and thank you for all the support!🤘🙏🤘
What about testing just a line? as if you did a line work.
white vs heavy white or triple white
please..🥰
Triple black does have a dark tone , the regular black was a bit faded
I have similar areas on my thigh to test several companies black inks. I myself prefer industry inks blacks. Eric one of the owners will gladly tell you which ones are the most concentrated with pigment. Everyday black, solid black (more concentrated) and you have to ask for black hole, I don't think it's on their website (really thick and concentrated). Allegory blak would be my next choice.
I will have to try out some other brands of ink that you’re referring to as I’ve only tried out a few. I’ve had quite a few good things about Allegory black as well.
@@ArtSomething Allegory black and everyday black are very similar. Both are very good all around blacks. Allegory is unique in that it contains no witch hazel...rare but some people are allergic to witch hazel and it's used in many inks. Solid black and black hole are best for solid fill. Eric says people use solid black for lining but I find its prone to blowing out. Black hole is thick and super concentrated. But I have to imagine it probably has the highest concentration of black pigment available.
What is your favorite brand of liner ink sir?
my go to ink for black has been big sleeps ink every time. whats your thoughts on that one?
I have big sleeps black and the gray watch set up. And I’ve only used it one time. The black is very thick and hard to work with however it made for some very dark black even when healed. I will do a comparison between dynamics black and Big sleeps black. Even though I am 99% sure Big sleeps will take that one.
@@ArtSomething hell yeah im excited to see that. ive done all my line work with big sleeps and really like how dark it stays in the skin over time. thanks for the content, im learning every day from your channel and cant thank you enough for that.
I find triple is much darker. I used to use it as my primary, it healed different. Now I use the regular for lining and most dark spots, but in the pits of skulls and stuff, the triple sets apart.
I didn’t find the difference between the two while using
Yeah Dan I could see myself doing the same thing using the triple black truly in the really really darkest spots of a tattoo to add that little extra bit of depth. Thanks for sharing Dan appreciate that🙏🤘
I have both and really can’t tell
really, i cannot see any significant difference. thx for that direct comparison Art!
The triple def looks like it’s holding up better.
I use tbk for lining and sbk for shadeing
That makes good sense. I was kinda shocked to see the outcome was not as dramatic as I would have liked.
I think when you pack there isn’t a huge difference, but i find that when i line with triple black it’s darker one pass than standard black
I could definitely see that and I think Triple Black is a bit darker than standard dynamic black. Well I don’t think there’s a huge difference definitely think there’s a place for triple black in my set up.
just a novice, only using regular dynamic black on fake skin, but trying to learn and understand too much. lol.
anyway, I want to thank you for all you do, you have a great speaking voice, and really are appreciated for all your videos. keep up the great videos.
I’ve heard that dynamic black (standard) is better for graywash, but triple black is better for packing black into fixed areas because triple blk will spread *slightly* more over time, compared to regular blk. If an artist misses a small gap while packing an area, triple black can accommodate for that more than regular. that being said i haven’t proven that, but other artists at my old shop used to say it
Triple black won't move at all....thicker ink doesn't move...
Can you do zuper black vs tripple black or true black please
I use Dynamic brand. Best ink I've found so far out of 5 or so brands. triple black looks and stays longer. The regular fades and almost becomes blue over time. Still better than Mom's ink and others I've tried
I use triple black if I have a large area to pack. It goes faster because it’s just more pigmented. If I do shading I use regular black dynamic ink. It’s the same color really. It’s just faster to pack.
Interesting and good to know as I think I will be doing the same thing. After this test I realized I will keep my gray wash the same as far as my drop system goes how are you standard dynamic black for that. but when it comes to my black how are use triple black just because it seems only a smidge darker if anything.
Can do dynamic triple black vs big sleeps killer black
I heard both of those are the darkest inks
I have thought about doing that comparison as I have bigsleeps black as well. SOOO with that said I think that will happen.
Triple black is a little bit darker.
I wonder if the real tell is with years of being in the skin...
Very true I also wonder the same. With time will triple black prove to be belonger lasting and darker of the two. I don’t think I will change up my gray wash set up but I may add it as my darkest dark pretty much use it as my black.
Definitely look the same as of right now to me. Looking forward to seeing how they look in a year
We need that post 1 year video thooooo
Could it be that the difference is not supposed to be that much in color outcome, but in the triple black being easier to pack in while doing black work or a blackout for example?
Good morning , what is the trick to ordering off the CNC website this is my second time trying to order from then and it just keep spinning at checkout and never processes ?
I’m not sure I’ll have to look into it. I ordered some needles a couple months ago and didn’t have any issues. They did take a little bit longer to come in the mail but other than that nothing that I can recall.
I have the 1oz bottle of Triple Black and I only use it on practice skin! The lines on practice come out very clean and dark. On human skin there is not much of a difference so really no need to buy it for tattooing on clients 🤷🏻♀️
If there is a price difference between the two, I definitely wouldn't spend more in the triple for the fact there really isn't a huge noticable difference between the two. Just my opinion.
Yes there is a price difference. anywhere from a few dollars on up to 10. And I agree not much of a difference to really make me want to make any changes.
never tried em but did you notice any different in thickness of the ink . something tells me thats what they going for or do they say that tripple black are blacker overallt and in healing ?
I didn’t see a difference at first. I do think the second time around that the triple looks just a slight tad darker 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah the longer it heals the darker the triple black seems to appear. Looking forward to how they look in about a year from now.
Does its the triple black good for lines too? Or it will spread like tribal blacks and similars? I really need to know this, cause i have the triple too but i did t already used it thinking maybe its only good for shades or packing black.
Awesome video brother and to be honest I did the same test on fake skin and I couldn't tell the difference at all. The only time I noticed a different texture was when I did a grey wash set up but it still was pretty close at the end. I don't use dynamic anymore for my line work or my shading I'm strictly using MOM'S. In all though great work as always
why don't you use it anymore for lining? and whats moms
Can you review the intenze shader mixer and the regular water mixer they have they also have color mixer
Thank you for doing this, i’ve wondered this myself…oohrah
hello there art-something! great video.. can you try the new triple blackout from world famous against there blackout and see if theres a difference in those?
i confused which is best?🤔🤔🤔
For me there just wasnt much of a difference. I think the triple was a bit darker but certainly not triple dark. I thinik I will stick with regular black for making my grey wash and maybe add triple black just as my darkest.
I agree that you can't notice it immediately, I use TBK myself, I would be both curious about what it compares like over time, and also how it compares as greywash?
Yeah I’m curious to see how it looks overtime I do believe it Will end up being darker longer in the long run. And I will be using it for areas of large black but will not be using it in my gray wash.
My triple black heals way darker that what you showed. Maybe it's that way you put it in but there is a definite difference.
No there’s not lol
I think it’s awesome that you notice a difference in yours Michael and of course this is just one test on one leg not the end all be all. I noticed very little difference but enough of a difference to see a purpose and still having triple black in my set up. I may use it in spots of a tattoo that require a little extra black but even then it’s not a huge difference in my opinion. But again I think you for sharing your experience🙏🤘
Hmmmm. I don’t see much of a difference but I would definitely try some shading with it. The darker areas in black and grey. With the transitions into softer grey. Maybe it does better at contrasting 🤷♂️ That would be the test. Then we will know 😅
I love the dynamic inks! Been using the triple black recently for shading. Using it neat it has a shiny almost oil spill look to it much like the fusion power black so would be interesting to see a comparison of those! Price wise if you break it down to how many tattoos you can do with a bottle of ink the difference between the two becomes negligible. I’d say it’s worth a try, especially considering how much the same amount of ink costs from other brands!
No difference between the basic black and the TBK I have both
I love dynamic black as well. I don’t use their colored inks but I also have not tried them yet and I look forward to trying them in the future. And you make a good point the cost is quite negligible when you consider the money you make off a bottle of ink when compared to the number tattoos that are done. I can definitely fan of dynamic and it was fun to test these two products out. I may use triple black in place of standard black as my darkest when doing black and gray. But I don’t see myself using triple black to make my black and gray. Thanks again for the support my friend and for your insight.
@@swervv2957 i have to agree they look the same to me .. seem very similar in consistency aswell.. i thought the triple black would be a bit thicker and it might be, but i cant tell
How does the. Blackout compare to the dynamic black/triple black?
Legend👍👍👍👍My Sensei...keep up good work.
In my opinion they both look nearly the same TBLK is probably bit darker!?!
Yeah I agree with you Joshua triple black seems to be just a little bit darker.
Really appreciate that thanks man 🙏
You're a godsend, thank you
Hey Dave, great vid🤘🏻 Don't really see a difference, thanks for testing for all of us🙏🏻
Agree Dennis don’t really see a lot of a difference but I may still use it as my darkest dark but certainly not going to use it when mixing for gray wash.
Feel the same way, don't fix it if it aint broken😉
Cool video Dave
my friends.... the diference is long term... the triple black, with time, spreads more in the skin so you will have better all-black areas...
the lining ink spreads less and that is why it is better for defined linning.
To grey wash booth you will use less drops with the triple black because it's a little bit more dence.
Hope this helps
you can see it in your larger test... in the traditional one you can see little skin spots and in the triple you dont
I agree, I have a giant eagle silhouette and the triple black is alot darker, first my artist did it with regular and I bought a tattoo machine and my wife came back and filled it I again with the triple and there's a big difference in darkness
Dope video and in my opinion i see no difference between Dynamic standard black and Dynamic Triple Black
*IMO*
Triple Black does envelope the skin easier,
a little goes a long way.
I use Triple Black for the darkest part of the illustration, where I need to push something forward,
I also use Triple Black for symbols and sigil type designs.
When you dont know where is what colours you dont see the different or you make a complete Arm Black Out Tattoo with this 2 Dynamik Ink's but i think they are so many things like how deep you ink or the Aftercare Produkts you use.
no difference imo, however this is not accounting for how the pigment will present when used with other techniques. Perhaps triple black holds a stronger shade when its under some color. In the end tho i would stick with dynamic black if its cheaper.
Got a question for you, i mixed dynamic black with witchhazel and its come out a dark shade of brown!
Bizarre! 100% genuine dyanmic black ink and quality witch hazel, im baffled, any ideas?
SOrry no idea there as I dont use witchhazel. I have used it in the past and dont remember anything crazy coming of it but its been years since i have used it. I would just stay away from it if its causing issues with the ink.
Queres ver la diferencia?
Haz una linea con cada uno
Y te vas a dar cuenta
El blk es para linea
Y el triple blk es para rellenos
Este ultimo siempre expande
Same shit , thanks man
pretty much the triple might be just a hint darker but not by much. Thanks for watching🤘🙏
I’m curious how it effects fine linework, I’ve heard adding a little water do your black keeps lines from bleeding over time, but would make them lighter… so I went for union black over triple thinking it might help with bleed
what needles are those
Hi Dave.
IMHO, is a little darker. Just a liiiiittle.
And giving the subtle difference, and the price, I'll stick to their standard black.
May The Force be with You 💪🏻
Greetings 🤘🏻
There just isn't a difference or at least not "enough" of a difference to the naked eye. I'll be sticking with regular black myself.
