There are so many episodes to produce hand-drawn in so little time, so alot of series save time and money by reusing animations and dragging frames. You can see them in many popular shows in the early 2000s, like Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass. These days, technological improvements and a shift towards shorter seasons have made it more feasible to produce entire series with no need to use such techniques.

Behind the scenes of the show is said to be a mess, with deadlines barely being met which would also explain the overuse of animation as well as the downhill turn in the quality of said writing

And then kira comes out of nowhere, literally creating a remake of seed after a 2 year in-series gap. Like if you are going to name the destiny gundam what it is, at least give it an important role other than to just to get destroyed. The plot could've been better. Characters weren't even used to their full potential.

I did got excited that the SEED Universe got the love and continuation of the story since It's not totally over and becoming an aftermath to what were happened in C.E. 71-73... I think they instead used all those ideas for gundam 00 movie. still I'm curious about those signs of extraterrestrial life in seed series. Not sure what to make of it but in some ways Sunrise is going back to the darker shades of grey in War. And it begs the question since "Star Wars": winning one War can be easy, but what if rebuilding damaged societies and institutions proves so difficult that it leads to yet another War?
I believe the ginns to be mercenaries or more insurgent ginns because stargazer showed terrorists using ginns to kill survivors and rescue workers after the junius seven drop on earth. It makes more sense the ginns to be used by factions incapable of getting new machines. So i expect the same with other shown nations lastly i expect what nations surviving have windams,dagger 2L’s and zaft would still be using zaku’s and Goufs as their frontline units. It doesn’t make since for Zaft to go back to ginns when machines like windam can easily overpower them. So it’s stand in like you said or more insurgent ginns
I bet Yzak is promoted to General in ZAFT, so maybe he can lead the entire ZAFT army under Lacus's term, even though he is still the leader of his Joule Team with Dearka and Shiho.

A small nitpick, though it's also quite subjective. I just find it more useful to use naval terms for Gundam officers, especially since the basis had always been about "space navies or spacies in space operas". In Japanese, as far as I know, ranks are named more uniform so that the difference of an Army Captain and a Naval Lieutenant (US military terminology both for the O-3 grade) isn't much (Gundam SEED would have just used Tai-i in the JP dub). But once you do localize to English terms, it's usually best to find the US Naval modern equivalent. So Kira Yamato being a BGen at the end of SEED Destiny, I think should be better thought of as a Rear Admiral Lower Half (RDML not RADM). Similarly, Athrun being around that time an Orb Lt. Col. should be thought more of as a Commander. Though, that's assuming his rank is given by him being a MS pilot (and so would fall under the naval organization concept) and not as an officer of the Orb's equivalent of the Self-Defense Forces (which might mean his rank is a ground forces rank, and so makes sense to use Army terms). And yes, we do this because Gundam has always been tied to references to WWII naval air strategy. That's also why the JP dub of Gundam SEED kept it pretty classical instead of using modern JMSDF rank names.
If Matt Hill and crew come back to reprise their roles, I will definitely watch this movie once it goes dub. I just dont like the people they have doing the other dub version being operated by the morons at Funimation.
