Good video. As someone who started out as an electrician (apprenticeship in a factory) I progressed to managing teams over most of my career, in various industries. You tick a lot of the boxes: Reinforcing and praising good performance/behaviour (playing back what someone has done well is a very powerful tool), giving clear direction and goals " 5 star customer service", taking an interest in the team and what they do. As someone once said to me: Managers tell people what to do, leaders show people how it's done. Keep being a leader and good luck.

It’s good to see a little of what goes on in the office. The amount of growth you’ve seen over the last few years, will see you needing either a really efficient ordering and logistics system, or a decent racked out unit to order materials ahead of time, and store them for collection by your team. You’re always going to be left with materials that are left over and it’s a case of what do you do with those too. I’d imagine they’re currently being thrown into your unit. With little to no knowledge of what’s exactly in there at the moment.

  • @cogdriver

Jordan, would it not be far more productive, easier to manage and thus more cost effective to find a workshop or garage with a small office? This way you can fit the workshop out to use as your own secure storage, recycling and office facility for not much more than what you would be paying for separate units? This will also help with your future expansion plans as you would have your own "base" to build it from. Just my personal preference.
Great insight to your day in the life though.

Working from home should be no different than in a work placed office. You are as the employer responsible to ensure a proper VDU assessment is carried out on the employee’s preferred placement to work at home. Proper desk hight and fully adjustable chair, wrist and foot supports, proper breaks from the screen and station and eye test and correction eyewear to use at a work station.
It’s no different that the time and effort you spend on getting your technicians the proper PPE and safe working practices and risk assessments.
Would be good to see you making headway on this. Great to see you making moves on recycling and waste as well as the three R’s. Electric vans next and less use of coffee shop coffee cups and use the ‘bring your own’ method! Great vids and content!

Me I an an internal combustion engine fan as you might have guessed!! Plus I would rather watch some "ordinary" electrical work.
