Had a similar problem, LEDs were dimming. Co tact issue. Bad connection in wire or plug to the moving board. I pressed it and LEDs came up. Used a bag tie to tie the plug to prevent its movement when spinning. Works fine now.
i had the same issue like this with my cubix, when i opened it up and took a look at it, the wiring harness that connects to the moving led board was stressed out from being turned around to much, the thing i would recommend is when you send your light in to getting it fixed, open it up once you get it back and cut off the zip tie on that led board and put on a new zip tie but a little loose, by doing this, hopefully you wont have the same problem, hope this helps
Awesome info guys. Mine had the same problem. Pulled the LED board and disconnected the wire harness and noticed the blue wire had a break in the wire. It seems that as the LED board rotated, the edge of it was rubbing on the wire harness and wore right through the blue wire. I was able to solder and tape the break and put it back together. It works fine now.
Thanks for the video. The challenge is MOST of us aren't electricians, so I feel you with, "I don't have time for this!" LOL My older Kinta JUST started acting up and I found your video. I see some posts that give some suggestions for a fix and will give them a try!
I'm a few months lat sir but I had the same issue. The horness that controls the led lights has a short. it's mor than likely the brown wire. I replaced it and good to go.
My LED light does almost exactly what yours is doing but emitting no lights at all. I bought the ADJ Mini Dekker (which is very similar) and haven't had any problems with it. ADJ has come a long way!
Just fixed mine :) took a multimeter to all the wires connected to the LED and found the blue wire had no continuity. Replaced the wire and everything is back to normal!
awesome work!! I just fixed mine after I had been sitting on it for a while.. thanks for the tip.. all i had to do was push the wire that go into the light back in and problem solved..
I have repaired like 6 of these. I bought broken ones fairly cheaply i bought a total of 7 and one needed more work then just a broken wire. All the rest were simple issues. the most common is a broken wire going to the LED board. 4 of them had that issue, one had a wire partly pulled out of the connector that powered the circuit board and the other i had to solder loose parts on the power supply. Not bad being able to get 6 out of 7 going. I have them all linked together for my 10ft truss light stand. as well as some other lights.
I just bought one of these broken and repaired it. One of the wires in the wire plugs wasn't right I had to unplug them all and test them all with a multi meter i found one that after unplugging the connector the wire came right out of the plastic connector it came disconnected from the metal connector inside. I had to use a little screw driver and press the little catch to pull the connector out of the plug and then i soldered the wire to the connector and pried up the catch tab and slid it back in and put it back together now it works great again. I am thinking with it moving all the time it must of broke off the metal connector. Now I know what to watch for and what to do if it does it again. simple easy fix.
There must be a problem with the wiring in these mini kintas because I've had the exact same problem and another dj friend of mine has as well. Simple clean setup is the gig rig irc and the 4 - plays are still a nice bang per buck effects light. I hope you get your new gear soon man. I know how much fun it is to get new gear. One love potna, Dj Malarky out.😎
There is ...9 Xs out of 10 its the lamp wiring harness. I have several, repairs are fairly easy . Many companies are copying the look , they are a big bang for the buck..
My mini kinta kept going out with the same problem. Warranty already expired. Guitar center offered to repair but I just put it in storage where it still sits today. I just rent DJ lights now from different sources and pass the cost on to my clients. After DJ'ing over 27 years, I figured my being mobile might be the problem with all my DJ lights going out. I never had problems with the old halogen lights except with the occasional bulb burning out but these LEDs are just a 50/50 gamble of working.
Hey what's up , just got my mini kinta with the musicians friend 2 year pro warranty for 10 bucks extra. Just wondering how long before your kinta started to act up?
+George Munoz I sold mines awhile back...Im thinking about getting the new Chauvet FX 3-in-1 lights thats coming out next month...you should check it out!
+Randall Willms I only had them for 6 months...brand new and already have problems with one light...if I were you I wouldnt recommend it.....dont get me wrong I like them but they cheap for a reason..it sucks
I'm sorry bruh I said gig rig lol.😂 I meant gig bar ha. Anyway you probably knew what I was talking about. It's a really simple yet nice fx light for any event. Just sayin' One love homie.
I have the same trouble with my mini kinta, it's 2+ years old. Probably not worth repairing considering the cost of a new one is less than $100 with new warranty. I'll probably just try to fix it and learn something.
+napynap I had those for 6 months brand new and had one problem with one light.....I already sold them to a friend that can fix them and I bought them without a warranty on them to save money but I knew I wasnt gonna have it for long lol

I'll take mine apart and try what you did. Hopefully I can get it going.
Thanks for this vid. I see you aren't the only one having problems with these.
Just happened to mine a few minutes ago while testing it. Except mine blinks randomly. It is powered on. Sucks.

my LEDs stopped flashing. found the blue wire going to the LED spinner was damaged. Beaned it back together now its working.
IM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE DID YOU EVER FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE MINE DOES THE EXACT SAME THING...
the wires going to the LED is just your problem, just reconnect a new harness or if you want you can jump a new wire in each connections.
Mine skip green for some reason

Get rid of the LED harness and solder the LED wires to the board. That fixed it for me. Easy as.
I am having the same problem.
They didn't even asked me to send them the old one back. I still have it. Mine works fine except the led's come one every 2-3 min and they go off
+George Munoz I sold mines awhile back...Im thinking about getting the new Chauvet FX 3-in-1 lights thats coming out next month...you should check it out!

Hi! Saw your other videos since I was searching for Kinta. Were these not under warranty??? Did you contact Chauvet? Thanks!!!
+Randall Willms I only had them for 6 months...brand new and already have problems with one light...if I were you I wouldnt recommend it.....dont get me wrong I like them but they cheap for a reason..it sucks
Bro, talk to Chauvet. Mine went out and they send me the new MINI KINTA IRC. the only thing they asked, was for a copy of the receipt.
