It's been a while since I last dualbooted my machine, been using vm's ever since, but now i found myself wanting a dualboot again, specifically for parrot sec actually, which led me into your video.
Straight to the point and well detailed.
Keep up the good work man.
And long live Security.
Thanks!
Thank you so much, my first experience with Linux and I was SO confused

Really great tutorials and tips. Deserves more likes.
Much appreciated!
In the partitions, whichever storage device i select i do not see the unallocated space. I see sda1 and sda2
Thanks it worked for me !!!!!!!😊
I have 90GB free space on my windows partition, but when I try to shrink it I can only shrink 5gb because of unmovable files.
Even when I follow instructions to disable hibernation, paging and protection it only goes up to 11GB.
Please help!
After unallocating disk space about 55Gb it saying there is no partition to install in . In welcome menu (Install Parrot)
Hello great video with simple and efficient explanation. But when i follow these steps my laptop doesn't load parrot , instead it loads GUN GRUB. So how os it solved
Thasks bro it works
Any reason why dual booting (with kali Linux but similar steps) corrupted my windows boot on my main hard drive?
My New volume/disk is encrypted what should I do to access it into Parrot OS
Thanks dude 😃💯💯 this video is very uesful 😍🎉

@@SavvyNik boost. Python error in job

Please help me
Thanks 🙏
For those who get a grub installer issue remember make sure your hdd is not MBR and is gpt.
Tnx bro 🙂
Im sorry im newbies, what does that mean??
Hi, Nik. Really appreciate your video. I myself have followed everything you've said on the video and succesfully installed Parrot OS. But I ran to some problem. Everytime I tried to boot to parrot os, I didnt get the same login screen as you do, instead mine was just Terminal. Did I do something wrong or my system configuration are not optimal? Thanks for answering🙏
Sounds like you didn’t select a desktop to install?
@@SavvyNik Im sorry but I'm just begining to use linux so I dont really understand what you mean by selecting desktop🙏 Also, when I press F11, it shows me that user login management failed to start.
@@iamnoroEDIT: So, I think I ran into the same problem you might have had! When booting from USB it went into a GRUB terminal (I don't really know what this is tbh) The solution is to re-image the USB in Rufus or whatever software you choose, and selecting DD Disk Image instead of ISO (this option pops up after you hit start) Now when I boot from USB the Parrot installer interface appears as expected :)
Can I ask a question please? I am curious to know, if I were to install Parrot OS on a USB drive, why would I still need to allocate space on my computer's hard drive? I am a bit confused as to whether all the data for the Parrot OS would be stored entirely on the USB drive or not. Thank you!
You wouldn’t need to allocate space on your system storage if you are creating a persistent storage usb with Parrot OS on it. However that’s a whole separate process. ruclips.net/video/-Tbob3ecg7Y/видео.html
@@SavvyNik I have another question Nik! Is it possible to edit/change the amount of storage space for the installed Parrot OS? For example if I were to install a Parrot OS on a created 32GB storage space on my 120GB storage disk, is it possible that I could increase the storage volume that I input from 32GB to 64GB (or more if there's space) so that I could place more files?
Yeah you can extend the partition so long as the root part is at the end of your disk. You could use a tool like gparted -> ruclips.net/video/Kyz9x71gEPI/видео.html
After saving changes in the bios (about 6 mins in) and i try and boot, i get a message that continues to ask if the usb device is bad. I formatted the usb before burning the iso to it.
After giving me a firmware bug and saying it cannot read the usb (bad usb) it seems to be installing. I was worried
Pls make a video for Athena os
Grub-install is my error
Always prefer an American presenter! They sure know what they are talking bout! By the way, I did get a lil confused with the Windows Wallpaper you got there with Parrot and wondered how did he manage to launch diskmgmt on Parrot Live. Silly me! lol
Lol glad you liked the vid
hi i am getting grub loader error
How long does the restart after the install take? It’s been almost 10 minutes and I just see the Parrot OS logo.
Typically it's quicker than that. Are you sure it's not waiting for you to hit enter so that you've removed your USB?
@@SavvyNik yes nothing was written, then I forced shutdown. Both windows and parrot work fine. Thank you so much!
im using computer all in one lenovo when im install parrot os and done, i dont fine a gnu grub. when finish install and restat my computer alwas runing at windows. never fine menu gnu grub. why pls help me?
Go back into your BIOS and search for the Parrot install as the first thing to boot instead of windows. Also confirm the fast boot / safe boot options are disabled in BIOS
USB FAT32?
Thanks
You’re welcome!
#sir it's really a lot helpful full me
Glad to hear that
Hey please help me.
I need help in installing parrot os. Actually i m facing a problem. The space which a partitioned for installing parrot os is not showing in the parrot installer. What to do
Try to format that partition to some other format that Linux recognizes
hello and thanks for tutorial
i am new linux user and i have a question:
where is installation location for applications in linux? home partition Or root?
You're welcome. Depends on the application and what privileges it may need to run, they can be in a variety of place such as /usr/bin or /home//bin. In order to tell where a particular package is installed you can use the which command. For example: which this would give you the location it's being launched from.
@@SavvyNik thanks a lot
so is 50 GB for root partition enough for me?
i want to install parrot home as my defalut os and asking this questions for that....
thanks
That should be plenty.
@@SavvyNik thanks a lot
Does this apply to Windows 11? I've run into nothing but problems with anything that changes my BIOS to allow booting from other sources.
It should work, you may have to change up the boot priority so Linux is the first to boot. I have Windows 11 on my system and everything seems ok. Although who knows when it comes to different sets of BIOS.
Finally you posted that what i asked
;)
I have followed every step you did but when I restart there is no other OS aside from Windows.
Did you confirm you have ubuntu as the first to boot in your boot priority? Or that you have secure boot disabled?
same
@@miah1700 You need to change the boot priority to the GRUB Loader as Savvy said (im not sure if parrot is ubuntu based) but it should show Ubuntu there and thats it you load into the boot menu from GRUB and select which OS you want to use
I installed parrot os successful but when I restart it start installing again plz give solution
Confirm that the installation media (USB) is removed.
Hi, can you make a video on how to dualboot Manjaro?
I'll put it down on the list.
@@SavvyNik Since parrot has the same installer as manjaro, is it ok to do the same process?
Im scared to break some stuff (again)
can it be a normal usb or needs to be bootable?
The usb software that flashes the distro image to your software will create a bootable disk
@@SavvyNik k thx
how to remove parror os can u make video
❤❤
i have 7gb usb drive . is that enough?
Plenty for the Installer image. It's about 4-5GB
@@SavvyNik I had 4 and it was too small 😭
LFS tutorial ?
haha I think there maybe too many possibilties with that to do a proper tutorial xD
Do we absolutely need 32Gb ?
Yes
im still waiting for gentoo.
haha aren't we all xD
What about uninstalling parrot os in dualboot?
You probably want to follow something like this - ruclips.net/video/OCCRFxKU7r4/видео.html
@@SavvyNik Ok but what about replacing Parrot with Ubuntu...
Why not choose manually partitioning?
Easier for most
@@SavvyNik wouldn't u lost data?
He had already done it before hand.
Need video for those who have nvidia graphics card too 🥲
Pretty much the select the nvidia install option and the rest becomes the same.
@@SavvyNik Is there an updated version to look for 5.11 there is only 1 Parrot Security OS to download?
