I am a retired system/network administrator and I want to thank you for such a concise, good example. Worked perfectly on my Dell dual boot EFI laptop. Mint linux is now gone and I boot right into windows without going through all the hoopla Microsoft wanted me to go through using a recovery disk and troubleshooter, etc... Thank you !
Worked like a charm. Very good that you also explicitely mentioned what partition to select, because it was a different number for me. Problem I would expected to take half an our to fix just got fixed in 5 minutes!
Very clear instructions, works extremely well. This is how you make a tutorial! Gave me in 5 minutes what I was searching for for the last 2 hours. Thank you!
I wonder if it's necessary to go back to diskpart select disk0 and partition 1 and "remove letter=x" to unmount the efi partition. Or maybe a simple reboot will do.
Great video, I had the same problem when removing Linux mint. I followed the instructions and worked perfectly. Other videos and websites didn't explain this issue as clearly as this.
Thank you for your video, for some reason unkown to me it installed a ubuntu grub thing on my lexar nvme even though i never touched it, glad you made a video for it so i could remove it
Thanks for a good tutorial. But i formatted the disk of installed ubuntu before i found this vdo. After that i try to do this method but the ubuntu folder does not appear. So in this case should I re-install windows again?
I did this step by step, and deleted the fedora one and now my laptop is stuck on a loop on a blue screen that says restore boot or something like that 😢
Check in bios whether your PC is checking for operating system as an legacy rom(operating system )if yes then it will be mentioned as " enabled" if enabled plz disable the option then your PC will check for the os in uefi mode and your os will be detected and load it. I also faced the same issue and now solved it. My computer by itself enabled the option which led me to this problem. Hope it helps
My dear friend receive a warm and great greeting from Colombia. Your video helped me a lot you don't how much it helped me in removing three Grubs in the Bootloader. I was just trying three Operating systems, but the Fuck...g Grub Loader did not let me start my Windows 10. I tried seevral options but no one of them work. But I watched your video and it gave me the full Solutions. Thanks a lot buddy. Cheers. Oh by the way the OS I just tried were RemixOS, Androidx86 and PhoenixOS.
It worked, but weirdly, when I go to the BIOS, Ubuntu still shows up, but when I try to boot into it, it just boots Windows. It works, but Ubuntu still shows up... And also, how can I now remove the extra drive letter?
every time i type Y and hit enter after asking me "are you sure" it just gives me error message "The directory name is invalid." idk why this happened i did everything like mentioned in the video and the Y letter is capital not small ik but didnt work im using winows 11 Edit: i found that there is no indicator before kali so i tryed del command instead and it worked
You need to do a vid that shows how to remove grub from a mulitboot system that won't boot into win 10, but will boot into Linux, where I have two separate drives, one for win and one for 9 linux distros, using two separate boot partition...one for linux and one for win 10. I do not like putting the linux boot loader in the same boot partition as windows. No, I'm not a distro hopper, I use all distros at least 4 to 5 times each month.
I don’t seem to understand why you are getting this issue… in my case I used “x” you can try other to see if it works for you, make sure you take note of your drive letters to avoid duplicate
