It is reasonable to assume that the land of angels would spawn Valkyrie . My heart truly lifts to watch this and all of the journey so far . My grandfather was a Lancaster pilot and unfortunately died along with his crew on the return portion of his mission over Germany , so we never got to hear his stories . It brings a tear to my eye to imagine him seeing us now . How far we have come .

Yes, it's only a minute or two of footage and we understand that there are many tests which may have gone wrong before they get these seemingly flawless demonstrations but, I mean, this is AMAZING!

Unfortenetly this is not at all future tech that should be used all around the world. Instead climate friendy tech is future tech. So you should dream about electric trams leaving in close proximity to every household in every city to get climate change under control. Sorry for beeing so pessimistic and having no fun I like this device too but its not what everyone needs.

Christoph G. Cali is a really poor example of a lot of things. Their fires are not severe because of global warming, they are severe because of more than half a century of mismanagement. Fire has been(and always be) a necessary part of the forest yet has been nearly totally denied from the forest. No fire, fuel builds up until you have an unstoppable force... their environmental regs in many cases prevent land clearing for safety reason, so when the inevitable fire occurs, the damage to property/homes is off the charts... they are also a pretty poor representation of green energy as they have invested heavily and at great cost and it is falling on it’s nose with rolling blackouts...

If I try to put myself in their situation, I'm sure someone somewhere has worked out that the risk of going x high at y velocity will produce an impact of ? squared, resulting in serious injury or death should anything go wrong. No doubt the same reason they don't go over land. Of course the machine is capable, but I imagine until they can get the overall weight down to allow installation an effective reliable safety device, they just won't take the risk.

Well they have already chosen to design these for races, So there focusing on speed first. They already do race, so that proves the up time is good enough for that purpose

Yeah well Bella jet pack does 25 mins and that was nearly 60 years ago , what races ? It can’t run more than a few minutes and they think to make it more thirsty than run longer . The reasons why gravity won’t go faster is because Richard isn’t a jet engine designer . Williams jet motors was in bells jet belt , that’s a proper R+D jet engine builders that do military spec turbines . Not like Richard who buys off the shelf unit and calls him self groundbreaking ha ha . Gives British engineers that are groundbreaking a bad name when you can’t break records set nearly 60 years ago especially when it flies 4 times shorter . The shortest bells jet pack flew was 7 mins , that’s twice as long as Richard and it was considered a short flight . British embarrassment when he uses the words ground breaking tech that’s yeah 4 times worse than half a century ago .frank whittle, ground breaking British jet turbine engineer . Daniel jubb , ground breaking British rocket engineer , we see his name in his design of falcon rockets . You can have the acknowledgment when people deserve it and when Richards done wasting investors money with no return people will realise he’s not an engineer at all , you need qualifications to be an engineer

The only risks are his dumbass wearing 6 jet engines on his body, and risking it exploding, and his dumbass doing it flying over water where he would certainly drown if he doesn't have an immediate rescue...

seriously, though, how high can it fly? I see opportunities for first responders. Maybe a Paramedic with an AED/EKG and medications for cardiac arrest.

I think it takes several people and a bunch of time to get ready to take off, and the range is not great, so probably not your best bet for delivering a paramedic with an AED.
Last I saw it weighs 180 pounds and only has a flight time of 10 minutes max
Yea, not very practical yet, considering this approach(manually vectored thrust) requires 100% of the operators attention and body function to control. The operator cant even scratch his nose while in flight...
