In todays Team Fortress 2 animation meme tf2 memes we see Valve vs fixtf2. Here we see the janitor and potted plant aka Demoflower from Valve attempt to fix tf2 as tf2 hackers and tf2 bots and a lack of tf2 updates have plagued the game for ages. So the team fortress 2 bots in tf2 2024 got banned as Valve implemented their new anti-cheat system. Did the fix tf2 AKA fixtf2 petition work? Will tf2 Heavy finally get his update? Maybe not but so far Valve Gaben aka Gabe Newell from Valve tf2 is here.

Sir, This is what’s called a Ban Wave.
Typically, the developer creates a set of criteria within the code that clients must follow, with the idea that hacked clients won’t be following them.
Once hackers figure out these requirements and work around them, the developer adds a new requirement or changes an old one without warning. This causes the Ban Wave, as hackers and hacked clients are now not following the requirement
Valve caused a Ban Wave. Bots will be back, all they did was remove the *current* bots
Really shouldn't be celebrating something they should have done 6-10+ years ago.
Finally, they hired a 3rd Potted Plant to help with the treadmill work
They got Crazy Dave into the dev team

What happened to "VALVE does nothing", suddenly people think they're working on anti cheat
Honestly probably not an anticheat but manual banning works just as well as a short term solution. With how little is allocated to tf2 I doubt an anticheat is going to be part of the budget but overall I like where it is going.

So far this is good. Thanks to the TF2 spy in the bot hosters inner circle, we have currently nullified there attacks and prevented from continuing making more bot accounts like normal. They are currently in damage control and are making new email addresses and started changing their IP address to avoid detection.
They'll be back though and will try for revenge and the ball is now in Valve's court. Standby for updates.

As someone who just started playing tf2 like 3 days ago, I see this as an absolute win
Stick around, buddy, you are witnessing an important moment in TF2 history
The only we need proof that fix tf2 is finally fixed is that f2f are able to communicate again.
Oh yeah, even though the bots are gone (for now), I still mostly play on community servers instead of casual. I like having the option to call for medic, y'know?

I recall hearing Thor (Pirate Software) talk about how companies would ban bots and hackers in waves, rather than as soon as they were discovered. The logic behind it was that hackers would come up with new ways to overcome the cheat/bot detection software as they gradually banned players, meaning that they would have to keep building up the anti-cheat faster than they could fire out bans. Ban waves, meanwhile, toss out several players all at once, and now they're scrambling to find a new way to overcome Valve's beefed up security. As a bonus, news about ban waves tend to be MUCH louder than individual bans.
So while the bot situation in TF2 has gone a bit out of hand, Valve was likely betting on scoring a hard-hit and more publicity with the ban wave strategy.
Or at least, that's my thoughts based on the knowledge that I've retained and understood. I could be wrong.
Treadmill work achieved! For now. As downer as it sounds this COULD just be a way to shut us up so we buy things for the summer update.

the Intern and the potted plant mythos shall live on forever as long as "VALVe Time" itself
it won't take long for cathook or similar software to remake all the lost bot accounts. and like wiping their own ass, valve can't do treadmill work, expect bots in a couple days
The developer who made cathook regrets their decision and hasn’t been involved in cheating for a while, LMAOBOX is under the gun by Valve, Rosne (who ran the old Rosnehook bots) has the technological prowess of a dementia riddled senior citizen, and Omegatronic never added anything special to their bots and so was likely more involved in the usage of botting software, not its development. There’ll be another attempt by botters, sure, but these dinguses won’t be the ones at the helm.

So everyone being pessimistic: the bots will obviously be back in some capacity, but that's the point: ban waves like this are meant to make cheat (or in this case bot) developers have to put in effort to make their product work on the game now. Valve can keep doing this and while the bots keep sinking resources into the game, valve can too only they also get hat revenue, so in thw long run thw cheat devs go out of business. I know this because i watched a youtube video about ban waves, so im totally an expert and know what im talking about
I think the scene just before the “I did it” also works for this situation.

MEGAMIND: “Well. Let’s not get our hopes up just yet.”

The leaked source code was for a version of the game the doesn't exist anymore. Not the current build. That threat is gone when they updated to the 64 bit version

fact: some hours before Valve did something to "fix" the bots, a man deleted his saxxy, yes, he deleted it, and i think thats why Valve is doing this
I think that's just a coincidence - banning bot accounts isn't just pressing a button. They probably been working for weeks trying to figure out a solution. And the reason why you never hear Valve talk about it is they don't want the bot owners to scatter before the ban.

no they didn't lol, it was the equivalent of someone finally getting tired of the low battery pinging from the smoke detector and swapping out the batteries
I hope people are aware that his is damage control and not Valve taking actual worthwile action against bots and cheaters, this whole thing was right after the threat of a boycott was getting louder, and that's when Valve was starting to piss it's greedy, greasy pants.
It only makes it clearer that all they care about is money and gambling, if you let your guard down and go back into wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars into those disgusting lootboxes, I'll asure you bots will come back in record time.
