I talked with Jacco of Royal Jongbloed about Bible construction; covering every element. He shows a few covers before they're bound and also takes a look at the Schuyler journals.
Thanks Randy with your questions, especially the ribbon part. I was doing it all wrong till you brought that up. Will definitely use the ribbons differently now. Thanks!
I hope Royal Jongbloed comes again next year! I hope the bring one of their gorgeous KJV 52 meriva calkskins to show you! Please interview Jacco again if you can I absolutely love him and you are great at interviewing him.
The fact that he refused to speak down on other manufacturers at multiple points of this interview spoke volumes of the company. They do not seem to subscribe to the ‘elitist’ mentality. When you are good at something, other people will profess it for you.
They definitely make BEAUTIFUL bibles! I just got my first premium NASB Schuyler Quentel. Bravo to them! Expensive, yes but depending on the owner...it will last a lifetime!
The Premium French "PrimaBible" 32 GSM Bible Paper that comes in the, "KJV Classic Wide Margin Study Bible (With C.I. Scofield Notes) - Goatskin Edition", feels absolutely amazing... silky smooth! I have the wide margin schuyler and cambridge bibles... I believe both are 36 gsm opaque... its a let down compared to the PrimaBible paper.
Bibles should have 89GSM Or 120 GSM paper. I think that Bibles should have thicker paper. Lego, Zondervan, Crossway, and Jongbloed should try this. July 13, 2021, Tuesday.

Hi out of curiosity, may I know what was that you were doing wrong with the ribbons?
Fascinating stuff. I have a few Bibles bound by these guys and the quality is outstanding 👌

That's a great choice for multi-volume sets and pulpit Bibles.
J is pronounced by Y like Jongbloed.
