5:25 To answer your question regarding why side-view mirrors are mounted on the fender rather than on the driver and passenger-side doors: It's because most Japanese cars have side-view mirrors mounted on the fender for a narrow field of vision when driving on Japanese roads and streets which provides better visibility. It's not custom made, and it's straight-out of the factory in Japan. That was until 1983 by law when they changed the positioning to the door side as Japanese customers taste turned into foreign products, that also includes vehicles as the companies wanted those sales when exporting them overseas.
I’m so glad you mentioned the legs. You’re about the only reviewer that has over the year since he’s been out. IMO his legs transformation is one of the best of any TT figure. I like this figure and his “dad bod” proportions.
Thanks! I think the Takara engineers are geniuses for designing two very different transformation sequences for TB and Hoist based on a very similar car mode. Great toy engineering.
Absolutely love this figure. So much fun to play with and it’s articulation and wow his colors seriously do it for me. The black stickers are for the side windows to make em toon accurate and then the autobot symbols are for the doors I believe but not positive on them. And the knees go well passed 90 actually too. Also no you only have to force the shoulder once and it’ll go after easily for the extra up range
I'm still hoping they announce a Black Ironhide Diaclone repaint. I'm still surprised that never happened. I'm sure TB will get some Diaclone repaints though, although it is strange that Hound hasnt had a repaint announced.....
There are pictures of fully painted prototypes of Cliffjumper out there now. My guess is he's coming soon. If he's coming and he's licensed Porsche that means Jazz is definitely on his way. I also tend to think Jazz is coming because of the little Minifigures that come with Skyfire. I think that's a hint. I wouldn't mind an updated Soundwave either.
I'm not sure that cliffjumper is official. Takara have never had those sorts of photos leak before, and it's been ages with those CJ photos. I'd get it for sure though!
I'm not sure what the Autobot symbols are for (maybe the roof? which is where the rub symbol was on the original toy) but I believe the black squares are to be placed on the driver-side and passenger windows to replicate the look of the original G1 toy.
Im really looking forward to get Trailbreaker in hand myself. Can’t be too damn long before BBTS gets theirs in stock now. Maybe sometime in june/july, or early 2024 at the latest 😅
You shouldn't have to do a mod brother. It should work the way it's intended out of the box. That is not what I expect from a masterpiece from Takara Tomy.
I hear you don't have to mod it, and can move the shoulder area out with some careful force. I'd have to check the promo photos to see if takara actually intended that joint to move out.
@@KoolKollectibles I watched the video from T-man and it looks like if you force it you end pop smashing a little bit of the plastic and I don't know why it would be there if it wasn't intended to be used ya know. I'm definitely going to try it when I get my copy in a couple days. I'll let you know what the results are.
@@KoolKollectibles Well, I got it and I tried it, and the results are that you do chip a little piece of plastic to get the full articulation. The left arm was a little tighter than the right but regardless, you can plainly see that a teeny weeny little piece of plastic wasn't accounted for when they made the mold. After gently forcing the joint though the results are worth it in my opinion. I still stand by what I said before and that is you should not have to deal with something like that with an official masterpiece from Takara Tomy.
@@KoolKollectibles I get that dude, I've seen your display and it's pretty damn nice. I myself however like to display mine with dynamic poses which is why I had to try it.

TT is of course finishing their Raiden, but when there is a Trailbreaker, you know there is going to be a Hoist.
You would think they'd announce that pretty soon this year. But I'm still holding out hope for a Jazz or Mirage to finally join the series.

Thanks for the tips!
Takara masterpieces have been phenomenal, especially since the original diaclone/g1 designer (kojin ono) started doing them again!

Great review as always! Thanks!
Thanks for checking it out! 😀

Interesting, will look up some pics. Thanks!
Great review as usual 😁
Wasn’t gonna get him...but I’m strongly considering it now.
Thanks for checking out the video!

Here's hoping they do one soon, but hopefully after Hoist!

Indeed. I won't bother using that joint in my display. They're all mostly in static poses anyway.
