it's good to see that you haven't lost hope in continuing to do what you love. keep it up. it's your genuine passion that matters most over everything else that defines your success in every undertaking.
Currently, I am spending 2 to 3 hours a day studying SQL, weird for me dahil medyo matanda na tayo Im a 46 years old na and over 20 years na in a Managerial Position but still eager to learn this type of jobs a Data Engineer or Data Analyst ito kasi yung first love why I take a Course of Computer Engineering.
Cool video 🎉 yeah there’s no single roadmap to DE 💯. I would emphasize though the importance of getting a solid grasp of the concepts coz it’s not enough that you know how to do it. Like how you described your experience with query optimisation. That also applies with tools and tech.. you don’t need to learn them all and sure as hell you won’t learn them all at once. It’s a roadmap for a reason. But if you understand the concept and how it works under the hood, these things aren’t that different from each other and you’ll only have to learn 1 for each type of practice. With the amount of resources today and how much open source stuff available out there, it’s so much easier to develop these skills. Aside from Snowflake, using docker is as easy as pulling an image from docker hub with all the tools you need to study or build a project and running it locally. One thing about your road map though..looks nice but visualisation plays a key part in conveying a message. That sharp curve should represent a “steep learning curve” and I’m not sure (in a more general sense) if that’s learning data viz. But over all, awesome job and you’re definitely in a good path 👏
Thank you. Actually for less than 3 years of my xp na fefeel ko lagi na ang dami pang kulang sa skills ko. May mga terms pa din aqng na eencountered na parang alien pa saken. I've heard about docker pero Di ko pa xa na explore. Hehe. Since nsa project based nga aq ng usually nag tatagal lng ng 1 Yr or less than 1 year dun lang aq naka focus sa mga tools na ginagamit sa proj. And exploring other tools outside the proj became impossible. Napaka fast-paced ng gantong industry. Thank you for your comments. Seems like you know what you are saying. Sa tech industry kadn ba
@@GrowBeyondWithAnn I’m an Xccenture myself LOL so I can relate 😆 Would you believe I don’t even know what a flatfile is when I started, despite having a diploma in IT?🤣 Really shows that learning must be a personal initiative and have to make time for it. I get what you mean by saying you’re only focused on tools you’re using in your current project and exploring others seems impossible. I used to think the same and if you think that’s impossible now, then that would’ve been unthinkable 10yrs back? But like I said, you have to find time for it and never think that you have to learn all of it in one sitting. That’s how a lot of people get discouraged. I personally learn by doing. What gets me started is a quick 101 (YT tutorial), a bit of hands on and then I get to want to learn the concepts instead of being forced to. There’s so many contents and platforms online.. you can spin your own environment, free trials, online courses, community pages, leetcode, Git repos, discord channels, online articles, join meetups, look or start groups within your organisation…etc It’s really hard to find excuse not to learn nowadays. And probably the best advice I could give is to just do it and commit as much “calculated” mistakes as you can especially when you’re just starting coz that’s the best way to learn.
IT graduate din aq. 2013 pa hehehehe.
I started learning SQL but since walang time to study kasi kailangan rin magreview for board exam. Kunin ko lang lisensya and its time to focus data engineering and data analytics 😂
Oo I also noticed that. Most Pinoy here share skin care tips or cooking recipe, but tama there are also few who shares about career in tech. Thanks for watching I'll upload more videos and advice about tech and data engineering 😊
Very helpful! Ano po ba pinaka purpose ng SQL at saan po ito ginagamit? Galing ako sa ibang industry and I am interested in learning new skills. New sub here
Madami, like for ecomerce needs to manage products, Sales or inventory, health care system na need mag manage ng patients record, banking and finance na need to manage customer transactions, accounts and balance inquiry, also sa school or uni for management ng students records and grades gnyan.. Madami 😊 I became fascinated sa sql kase I wanted to know how those data are being manipulated in the back end pra un users will easily navigate and use it.
May tanong ako about sa resume for example nakuha ako nang agency XYZ as data engineer then ang company tlga na nag require nang service ko is company ABC ang ilalagay ko ba sa resume ay company ABC since sila talaga ang binibigyan ko nang service or yung agency na nag accept sakin?
It's okay. Ung sa case namen kase kunyare aq from Accenture aq.
Thanks. No idea yet pa since I'm about to start my self study pa sa Python. Pero during bootcamp days I nintroduce samen ang Pandas, NumPy and PyTorch.
