    More efficient Desalination technology, Refine the Brine for useful materials, and create city wide water recycling plants and we’ve got plentiful water for everyone.

      @@robinsss I mean you are taking water out of the ocean. If sea level increases then, we ain’t taking enough water out. Take out a few hundred billions gallons of water out of the ocean every year you should expect sea level to drop right? I mean I ain’t no scientist but it’s just common sense. California been taking water out of the lakes and rivers and the level dropped? I mean same concept for the ocean right?

      every year the water that was removed from the ocean will evaporate , turn into clouds and drop back down on the ocean

      @@robinsss California increased the production of fruits, nuts, and produce. almonds needs a ton of water and California is the number 1 producer in almonds. Almonds a lone takes up 10 percent of californias water. It’s not that people are drinking water California was one of the best weather and soil to grow anything from grapes, strawberries, almonds, avocado and more. You may not know if butt most of people who ate any fruit or vegetable today in the United States , it most likely came from California. There’s a break down why there is a decline in water, California as not been in a drought for 30 years. The water in the lakes has been receding for the past 30 years, this was not recently, it’s coming to our attention because it’s dangerously low. Humans alone only use 10 percent of the total water in California, it’s all mainly for growing plants and all that marijuana 😂.

    One thing we need to do is move water from the ocean back inland to places we need it and if we can do that while generating clean energy we have a chance to mitigate climate change and still have a prosperous future. It is really, really hard but it is not impossible.
    The biggest idea I am trying to express is tunneling aqueducts from the coast, in this case the west coast of the USA inland to feed combination geothermal power and sea water desalination plants. The idea seems to be so big that no one has considered it possible but I believe it is not only possible but it is necessary. For over a century the fossil water contained in aquifers has been pumped out to feed agriculture, industry and municipal water needs. The natural water cycle cant refill fossil water deposits that were filled 10,000 years ago when the glaciers melted after the last ice age. Without refilling these aquifers there is not much of a future for the region of the United states. As a result ground levels in some areas of the San Joaquin Valley have subsided by more than 30 feet. Similar fossil water depletion is happening in other regions all around the world. TBM and tunneling technology has matured and further developments in the industry are poised to speed up the tunneling process and it's these tunnels that are the only way to move large volumes of water from the ocean inland. The water is moved inland to areas where it can be desalinated in geothermal plants producing clean water and power. In many cases the water will recharge surface reservoirs where it will be used first to make more hydro power before being released into rivers and canal systems. It's very important however to not stop tunneling at these first stops but to continue several legs until the water has traveled from the ocean under mountain ranges to interior states. Along the way water will flow down grade through tunnels and rise in geothermal loops to fill mountain top pumped hydro batteries several times before eventually recharging several major aquifers. What I am proposing is essentially reversing the flow of the Colorado River Compact. Bringing water from the coast of California first to mountaintop reservoirs then to the deserts of Nevada and Arizona and on to Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. This big idea looks past any individual city or states problems and looks at the whole and by using first principles identifies the actual problem and only solution.

      @@robinsss essentially a tunnel is a pipeline but I think you are referring to an above ground pipeline which would have to somehow traverse mountain ranges. While a tunnel would go through the mountains at a downward grade using gravity to move the water.

      @@robinsss Because a pipeline would be lade on grade and have to climb over the mountains. That would require lots of energy to pump the water over the mountains. A tunnel would go through the mountains and not require lots of energy.

    Seems like concentrated solar steam generators could also make clean water. Have plenty of sun and seawater, need power and clean water. Probably not scalable

    Just install the filters in the ocean, then wave action will clean the filters and disperses the brine, at the same time. Pump only the desalinated water out.

    ... bravo for getting the water issue this far, but to dump the salt back into the ocean, is stupid & detrimental ... it should be sold instead as a marketable resource ... ❤❤❤

    When clouds suck up ocean water it then rains fresh water no? I've never heard of salt water rain.

    i guess no one in Commiefornia uses/eat sea salt... its mostly sunny, so wouldn't take long to evap

    If California desalinates enough water, Nevada and Arizona could reimburse part of the cost and get a bigger share of Lake Mead water.

    The salinity in the ocean increasing is of more value than finding a water source to replace the water no longer being available from Lake Mead, as it is now so low. California does not want to build dams in Northern California but meanwhile Southern California is trying to take water away from the San Joaquin valley which is where we grow the food for California and many other states.
    Meanwhile the Democrats build a boondoggle which never gets worked on, you know, the train to no where as San Francisco is a 3rd world slum from the amount of homelessness. Who would buy a ticket. Meanwhile, lots of money invested and nothing is being done to complete the high speed rail to SF. Nearly every drop of water runs right out to sea via the Sacramento River. But people keep electing Democrats who do the only thing Democrats do, which is to invent excuses for doing NOTHING!!!
