  • Interview with Mark Wigley on the occasion of the exhibition “Jean Prouvé: Architect For Better Days” at LUMA Fondation (Arles, France) in 2017-2018.
The show was the first major tribute to the work of Jean Prouvé in a museum context. It featured Prouvé’s demountable constructions systems through a dozen of houses assembled on site, highlighting the relevance of his architectures even at the present time. The installation included portables houses designed by Prouvé from the late 1930’s, such as a military shelter and the temporary houses for refugees, the Bouqueval school and the “Better Days” house. The catalogue accompanying the show featured texts written by international critics such as renowned architect Mark Wigley.
Mark Wigley (born 1956 in New Zealand) is an architect, author, professor of architecture and design, Dean Emeritus of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation Columbia University.
