I love BEEF and how it represents us beyond the model minority lens. Pursuing art in university was a perpetual wounding as I followed my passions and authenticity. These narratives help us heal and embrace so much more possibility of self. I'm still waiting to see darker skinned south asian and south east asian leads in shows, so there's even more room for representation. Maybe one day our community will embrace the middle--those of us who aren't famous or well known, and we're living our truth , can also feel like we've established our legacies and ancestors honored because we were firm in who we uniquely are. It's a hope. 🎶💜
Enjoyed the dialogue, and thank you Dr. Helen for sharing your own story. I
