Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting up this video. I too have an old LP Aspire and recently got a new goat skin from India. Will be putting it on today with your helpful video.

Thanks. Be sure not to trim too short so as to leave room for a little slippage when tightening

Thank you much for your video!! Planning out my mission to put new goat skin on thanks to you! Much cheaper than 119.00 smackaroos for mine. Is that an LP aspire djembe? Looks just like mine! Cheers & big thanks man!

It is an LP aspire. A word of caution: do not cut the excess too short or try to tighten before head is completely dry because the skin may pull through the ring.

Ok cool mine is 12.5 " or around 14" total with the sides. Do you by chance have a link or recommendation where you bought your skin? There's just sooooo dang many of them online.
      Thanks again!

I ordered mine on amazon. a.co/d/hzZqthY
It was just big enough for the drum. Be sure to get one that is plenty big enough, as this will make installation much easier, and you can always cut the excess off. I recommend getting a skin 10-12” larger than the diameter of the drum.

      @@Artemago ok great thanks man!!I
I will look for possibly a 20" because mine is about 14" with sides that are tucked under and only 2" extra like yours doesn't sound too fun to battle with!
      Cheers

Also remember that for a 14” drum if you get a 20” head that’s only 3” on either side. This may not be enough.
