He had a big run with Hogan in '84. But the fact is, Studd had a good look but was charismatically deficient, not a great interview, and even by the lazy standards of '70s and '80s WWF, he wasn't a good worker. Bundy was better than him in every way and even he had a shelf life. Once the monster gets vanquished by Hulk (or Backlund or Pedro or Bruno before him) what is there left to do? The aura of invincibility is gone. Even Andre the Giant had to settle into a mid-card role eventually.

Love the "cold city at night" vibe with a little bit of a casino feel to it. Miss music like this.
The 1989 Royale rumble winner
Loved big John studd, was so sad when he died in 1995, really affected me as a kid
They actually put up the REAL, non sped up version!! Yes!!
You mean the one they added a "HOOO!!" to at the beginning & gave to Duggan? lol
@@DrBeef216 I think he's referring to the fact that there has been a slightly faster version of Studds theme out there for years.
Amazing.
I know it's a little different but I still cant listen to this music without hearing hoooooooo! In my head first lol.
Speed it up by 1.25x and you have duggan’s theme

One of the best giants in wrestling. By all accounts one of the best people for fans to meet.
The Studd version is better than Duggan's.
I agree
No way
Definitely like the studd version better.
Everybody has got different tastes of music
Studd was Duggan's buddy when he was babyface. Only makes sense that his friend modified his theme.
Very similar also to the What The World Is Watching signature sound.
I wish they would release THOSE songs!
if you will make me pick from andre the giant and big john studd? i will pick big john studd he is the true giant for me, and also i love his theme
This is the semen that impregnated the idea for "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's Legendary theme.
I prefer this one better.
Studd was awesome
That's different than Jim Duggan's theme!
Michael Vargas Jim's theme was a remake. But is still made by jimmy hart.
Actually, it was Jim Johntson.
Michael Vargas Jim did not worked with wwe in the 80's and he started to make themes on wwe in the mid new gen era-now. So hart remake it.
Hacksaw's buddy. Makes sense that he remix his theme in tribute to his good friend.
Briggs Bennigan and not to mention did the soundtrack for No Holds Barred so he was definitely there
That's when the time Studd turns good guy and took out Ted Dibiase, Haku and Akeem. Then he teaches Andre the Giant a lesson after rescuing a bloody and broken Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
