It's really lovely, Johnny. I always wonder if good soap scents are arrived at a scent by design or by happy accident. Enjoy your weekend. All the best.
Hello Vandor, that's a difficult question as I have moved both of mine on. I think they are both quite similar but I did like the handle option on the Mühle. Yes, I think the Rocca has it.
@@FriendshipShaving : Hello Mark! Thank you for your tip. I am very happy about my Rocca and I love it. I hope you can handle your new Rocca head and you are satisfied. Kind regards Vandor
Hi Mark- Great shave and soap review, along with continued thoughts on the 3ONE6; thank you! A very comprehensive and thorough video on this razor. The Central Texas soaps are quite nice! I hope you have some “feet-up” time scheduled regularly throughout the weekend, my friend! All the best!
Hello buddy. I was watching the USA women's football team in last night's game; they are very good. No doubt they'll be some more football, this weekend. I think I might bring out my Marvel razor this weekend, or my Slim, or my Tech - I'll be flipping a coin 😃 I hope you and yours are well, Mike. What does the weekend have in store for you?
Good evening, Sir. I just wanted to send you many greetings and share my today's shaving experience with this wonderful, miraculous English safety razor. Today, I had a super great shave. I took a long bath, washing my hair and sinking my face in hot water most of the time I spent in the bathtub. When I got out of the bathtub, I put on a white bathing gown and had one of the most fantastic shaves ever. As a preshave, I applied the TDS preshave oil (an excellent Belarus product). I used the great US made Sir Hare shaving soap. I loaded a fantastic Russian blade Voskod into this amazing Edwin Jagger and enjoyed a three pass shave. Then, I took a shower to make sure to get rid of all lather leftovers. Back with my bathing gown on, I applied the Russian made DejaVu Cool aftershave by Homelike Shaving and went for a walk. There's no other razor better than this amazing Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Knurled! Have a nice sleep and a beautiful next week.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Vladimir. It sounds wonderful. Nice and relaxing, as it should be, and a great shave! And then a walk. I had a simple shave with a 1940's Gillette Tech this evening , as I wanted to test a new knot that I put in my brush. It is terrific; I shall use it in the next video. Until then, have a good week. 👍
Hi Mark, I enjoy your videos Sir! I received this razor today and used it with a "Super Shave X" blade. I had not used this blade before but it was a great pairing! I would put the blade on par with a Nacet. It is a very smooth blade! Take care, Dave.
My goodness, Dave. Talk about perfect timing; I have a little mail call video, which has is currently, and slowly, uploading in which I mentioned these blades. I was really wondering what they were like. Thanks very much for the information. I'll look forward to trying on on my next shave. Cheers.👍

Mark you’re so right. There is a technique to this razor. I was about to sell mine as I wasn’t getting along with it. I thought I’d have a last shave before trying to sell it. That shave turned out to be a fabulous shave and I kept it ever since. You really do get a smooth and close shave when you learn how to handle this razor. It’s perfectly weighted and very nimble and staying with me in the den.
Nice one Marko. It is a nice razor that turned out to be just a little on the aggressive side for me, in the end. It's not to heavy for a stainless steel razor, which I liked. I'm glad it's a keeper for you. All the best. 😃
Hi Mark, thanks for sharing your reviews. I find them very useful! The Macy synthetic brush looks very good, so does the EJ 3one6 razor. I think I'll buy both of them.
Hi Enrique, I'm very glad you find the videos useful. They keep me occupied; I really enjoy making them and looking into shaving related topics. I think I've become a bit of a shaving geek 😮 There are worse things to be. I hope you have a great week. All the best, buddy.
Another razor on the wishlist, thanks for the informative review and now back to “The Real McCoys” on Amazon prime. Hope you have a great weekend, Mark.
You too, Lou. Enjoy your weekend, mate. You know a comment earlier, brought this to mind - we're spoiled for razors but if I had to have only three - it'd be the Slim, the Marvel and the 1921-1929 single ring - of course, that may change 😅
Friendship Shaving Thanks for that. I have been thinking of trying the replitech. I wonder, have you had a chance to try a replitech? Seems half the price of a refurbished tech. I’m not associated with any company of course. See you on down the trail my friend.
Hi Mark. It is definitely an aggressive razor, but the thing is that you don’t feel it on the skin. Therefore, you tend to press it on your face as you don’t feel the blade. So you get irritation. But the moment you realize that it becomes a great razor to use.
Ah. Perhaps I will have to try another one, at some point. I moved mine along but it sounds as if I should have held onto it and used it more. Thank you.
Mark love the shaving videos. No nonsence and straight to the point. I have been looking the Wickham shaving soaps and I have seen you use fern and coca cola formulas. Could you recommend and describe any that are must have in that brand?. Kind regards.
Thank you very much Kashmir. I enjoy making the videos, although sometimes, this week is one of those times, I do what I'm going to talk about in the next video! I love the Club Cola soap from Wickham's and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. It is amazing. To say that it smells like Cola would do it an injustice, but it does. It's lovely. I also really enjoy the Ninfeo di Egeria - amazing! The Classic 24 and the Green Irish Tweed are based on Creed Aventis scents and are beautiful, I particularly like the Green Irish Tweed. To be honest all there soaps are superb - I guess it comes down to which scents you prefer. I think you can get samples from the Wickhams website and from Shavedash.com, which is linked to the Wickhams site. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I think it is the Fine Marvel razor. I'm afraid I can't compare it too the Game Changer or the 6c, as I don't have those but it is better than my 2c. I find it to be a very close and smooth shave with absolutely no discomfort during or after my shave and it's a cheap razor.
Hi Mark, I just had the first shave with this razor, using a Personna Red. I find this razor a little light and "delicate", and the shave on the efficient side but not the smoothest although it did not cause any nick or irritation. Obviously it takes longer than one shave to understand a new razor, but so far the experience has been a touch underwhelming. I feel it has the potential to become a daily driver, I just wish the handle was a touch fatter. Regards, Roberto
Hi Roberto. It's a real shame you're not enamoured with your new razor - I must admit I really liked the weight and feel of it. It does have a large blade gap and I think perhaps this contributes to a razor feeling not as smooth as others. Hopefully you'll come to like it more after a week or so. Thanks for letting know about your experience. All the best.
Hi Mark, I got a third shave in, with a Feather on second use. I do like the weight & balance of the razor, I don't like the thin handle though. My biggest gripe with this razor is that, for the perceived amount of aggression, the shave is not that close for me. Oh well, at least it was a present...
Oh that is a surprise Roberto. It was very close for me, as you saw. You could sell it on, mate and get something you like better. I've ordered a Silversmith from Colonial Razors - it's gone missing in the post though. 😕
Wonderful shave, Mark. I am glad you gave the brush special mention. I just got a 23mm Muhle Silvertip Fibre brush, which the Frank Shaving G4 is often compared to, and it's all I've been using since it arrived. I tend to use synthetics in place of natural hair brushes in the humid summer, but with this brush I will have to keep reminding myself which type it is. Have a great week!
Hi Warren. I didn't like my Mühle silvertip fibre brush 😮 I thought it was the Pur Tech synthetic brush; the G4 feels different from my Mühle, which I sold on. Anyway, if you love your Mühle that's all that counts. You too, pal - enjoy your week. I hope it's a good one. Cheers.
Interesting. If I had to guess, I'd say you disliked the Muhle because of its scritchiness, a feature that reminds me of horsehair more than badger (silvertip or otherwise). I base this guess on your recent take on a Vie-Long horsehair, on which we also agreed to disagree. But what you say intrigues me about the G4 (though not the Pur Tech, which duplicates the Muhle). So thanks once again.
Mostly, I felt as if there was too much fibre packed into the knot and so the knot didn't have the space to move. I have recently been given a FS pur tech brush to try, by my friend Billy; it feels the same and because of that lack of room, it feels like there too much backbone and it is a bit scritchy, actually. I'd not really thought about that. I will use it on video at some point.
Maybe brush size was an issue. They come in four (25, 23, 21, and 19mm). I have the 23mm. I know from another brush what you're talking about; it's also hard to build a lather with. But my 23mm paints, splays and circles quite well and neatly on a face about the size of yours. Luckily I ran into a review by Mantic59, who loves his 23mm but not his 25mm. I was not going to go for anything smaller, so I ordered the 23, then immediately found the lathering video linked to below. It shows all four in action. The music isn't bad either. ruclips.net/video/vxPEgYRidOU/видео.html
Thanks, that was very interesting. His brushes seemed to splay quite easily - I don't remember mine doing that quite so well. Mmmm. I might have to try a smaller brush, at some point. Cheers.
Excellent advice on giving the razor some time. I don't have this razor, but I hate to think about people shelling out for it, having a couple of rough shaves, and concluding that all is lost.
Prefect Citrus shave for this Weather, Billy loves his CT Soaps, please give him my regards when you next speak to him. The 3One6 seems sold out at the moment, surprising some of the negative feedback so far. Nice Summer haircut too!.
Hi Paul. I certainly will pass on your regards to Billy. I'm not so surprised by the comments; it's a Marmite razor! I just used that phrase in another comment so I thought I'd repeat myself.I think a lot of people find it harsh or cut themselves because of the large blade gap. I wonder if the will alter it after the feedback. I enjoyed it though but it's not a daily shaver for me.
Mate, that is the best way. I've already broken one sink with a shaving bowl 😕 I'm trying to move away from plastic but it's hard to find something else, lightweight and sturdy that won't break when dropped. Cheers.
I don't have a 6s, Andrew but my 2c has a number three plate. Assuming they shave the same I would say a 3-4 is s good comparison. This is from memory, mind you. It's been a long time since I shaved with it.
Afternoon Mark, not so keen on the 3One6 but the FS synthetic looks very nice. Thanks again for yet another very entertaining & informative video .... have a great weekend Mark
Good day, Malcolm. I'm sorry for the few days delay in replying to you; I'm struggling a little. I hope you're very well. I shall start packing up your razors and soap this week and may send the later in the week, or perhaps next week. Thanks so much, for the loan. I'll keep this relatively short but I'll email you when everything is posted out. Take care, mate 👍
Good evening, Sir. I must say that I absolutely adore this wonderful razor. The Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 is hands down the best non-adjustable safety razor in the world. I've had and used many safety razors, but I finally ended up only keeping and using two: the adjustable Taiga made by HomeLikeShaving, and this non-adjustable Edwin Jagger 3ONE6. And how about comparing the Taiga with the 3ONE6? There are perhaps two approaches. The first approach may refuse comparing two safety razors with different systems - one adjustable and one non-adjustable. The other approach, however, may insist that everything is comparable, once your choice is limited to only one. The questions then is: "If I was only allowed to keep one safety razor, would that be the 3ONE6 or the Taiga?" I find imagining this limitation somewhat stressing because, sincerely, I don't know the answer. I'd probably have to toss a coin, but leaving either razor would be a sad moment.
Hej Mark, it took Jagger quite some time to come up with something after the DE89 fm 1989... So, they btr got it right, as Muehle n others flooding us with new creations. Yr vry detailed observations (tks n congrats) lead me to ask, where y find the 3one6 compared to Muehle's Rocca. Imo the Rocca also is meant as bridge btw R89 (DE89) n R41. I remember y had bad experience with the Rocca, but the factory exchanged the head. What do y think abt this? Hv a splendid weekend, sun n hopefully sitting outside. Yrs Achim+
I'm going from memory, as I don't have my Rocca but in terms of sitting between the R89/R41 they are quite similar although I feel that the 3ONE6 is a bit more aggressive. Take this with a pinch of salt, please. It is a long time since I used the Rocca. The weather is warm and windy. ☀️ Time for coffee.
Thank you for another great video Mark. I hope you can get hold of a Razorock gamechanger at some point, because I think it will be very interesting to hear your views on what appear to be two very similar razors. From your description of this shave, it might be that the Edwin Jagger is slightly more aggressive than the Gamechanger. They are both made from 316 steel they both look similar, being equally well made. From my experience I would put the order of aggressiveness as being, the Muehle R41, the Fine Marvel, then the Game Changer and finally the 34 HD. I can be guaranteed a great shave every time with 34, also I know where I am with the Meuhle, especially with several days growth. Comparing the Marvel and the Gamechanger, the Marvel is much more likely to nick and the game changer is far smoother, but I need to try other blades in both, next will be Voskhods in both. If you do want a game changer, please try the 0.84 which is the more aggressive of the two. All the best Mark, & thanks again.
You're welcome, David. Thank you for joining in and posting here. I'm sure I will get the Game Changer, at some point, it is only the extra cost of postage, from America that puts me off a little. The Fine Marvel is an interesting razor - I find it is very effective but it's one of the smoothest and most comfortable razor's I have tried. It's all so subjective 🙂 I've been enjoying some 7o'clock super platinum razor blades recently; they are very nice. Right up there with the Voskhod's. Enjoy your weekend mate. Take care 👍
@@FriendshipShaving Thanks Mark. I bought my Game changer from Shave lounge in the UK. Not sure if they still have stock but, they did last week. I hope you have a great weekend I.
Great shave used my DE89 Feather 3rd use and PAA soap and got really close shave 1st time used Alum in about 6 weeks may be even use for.a 4th on the Feather that will be a record for me Oh and used my Rich Man Tribute Brush
Nice review Mark! Quite fancied the 3One6, but have been wavering - not quite sure I have the patience/time to step up to this. Quite liking my vintage Tech and Slim Adjustable right now :)
By right, do we need something else than the old Gillettes? B4 I buy something new, I do ask it myself, alw Yet, fm time to time its time to buy. Greed, interest, nvr mind, hobbies r expensive. Cheers.
You have two great razors there, Sam. I wish I had thought of it earlier but maybe if you opened your Slim right up, and making the blade gap bigger, it might be like the 3ONE6 - I'll have to try it! 😃 I don't think you can beat the Slim.
Good afternoon, Sir. Thank you for this video. Frankly, I assume since the Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 hit the shelves, there really aren't many mountains left to climb. Frankly, this is the definitive safety razor. I understand the Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Knurled as the final solution to the issue of finding the perfect safety razor. I've tried a few tens of DE safety razors but this one is the only one to embody the real perfection. Since the Edwin Jagger started producing the 3ONE6, there's no point looking for improvements - simply because there's nothing left to be improved. The shave is absolute. Does a man need an extremely smooth razor? Here it is! Does a man need an aggressive, highly efficient razor? Here it is! The Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 integrates immeasurable smoothness with high efficiency, plus excellent material and finish. Frankly, I can't imagine any producer taking it further. No other safety razor (except perhaps the HLS Colibri) can compete with Edwin Jagger 3ONE6 Knurled.
Good afternoon, Valdimir. I no longer have my 3ONE6 razor, simply because I had to move it along so that I could afford to buy something else; just to keep the channel varied. After your stellar comment and obvious enjoyment of the razor, I shall perhaps have to buy another one! Thank you very much for your terrific comments. Take good care.
@@FriendshipShaving Thank you very much, Sir. I'm quite surprised to read there's a man who has abandoned the Edwin Jagger 3ONE6. I've actually bought 6 (six!) peaces of this wonderful razor: two for me (one active, the other backup), another two for my son (the same system) and the last two to allow for my second son in case God gives me him (just a plan so far). By the way, if you like very efficient safety razors, you will certainly love the Colibri 1.30 Open Comb by Homelike Shaving. It's the same quality, the same material, and the same perfection.
Great shave, Mark. For the time being, the EJ 3One6 seems just a bit more aggressive than I'd like, so it's on the B list. I'm anxiously awaiting for my "Macy" to arrive. Have a great and safe weekend.
Hi Claude. I'm glad I got across that is quite aggressive; for a good few hours afterwards my shave, I wasn't sore but I certainly knew I'd had a close shave. The post from China is slow but it tends to be reliable. I'll be watching some women's football, on television, over the weekend. I hope you enjoy your's.
@@FriendshipShaving Thanks so much. I'll just be relaxing this weekend, maybe some house cleaning (have to keep the bachelor pad sorta clean!). I have a couple of new razors on the way, if your interested, I'll tell you about them once received and shaved with,. All the best to you.
The angle is slightly nearer the cap than usual. Is that steeper? It always confuses me. Is it worth getting? Chris, that's the million dollar question. Some love the 3ONE6, some don't and the Game Changer has very good reviews - quite a few seem to prefer it. For me, while I have really enjoyed using this there are other razors I much prefer. The Marvel being one.
Thanks for putting my mind at rest, mate. Mum's the word *taps nose and winks. Thanks again for taking the time to post all of your great videos, Mark.
Great shave Mark...Yeah, I'm getting an impression that the 30NE6 might have somewhat of a 'hair-trigger'. In that, I mean that it seems to have a quite limited / narrow range in its optimum angles at which it operates comfortably. It certainly looks 'the mutt's nuts' but I'm not one to engage in a test of nerves with a razor these days - I'm getting lazy I guess LOL. Oddly enough, I find I can moderate angles quite readily with the R41 to get a jolly nice shave.
Hi Mark. That's a good way of describing it. It's unusual for me to take quite this long to work out the best way to use the razor and I wouldn't say that I completely there, yet. It's so subjective, isn't it? Perhaps it's a Marmite razor. I think, and I'm not wholly sure yet, that I seem to prefer razors with a smaller blade gap and a little more blade exposure, than the other way around. It's something that I'm just starting to really think about.
@@FriendshipShaving LOL...a Marmite razor, I assume that's as polarising a spread there as Vegemite can be here (though it's completely un-Australian to dislike Vegemite) LOL. I still might pull the (hair)trigger on one of these razors later for the hell of it (provided I can get a hold of one). Take care, China!
I think you would get used to it's idiosyncrasies but it may just take a while, as it has with me. If you don't like an aggressive razor you'd might struggle. That's kind of obvious, isn't it? 🙂
Hi Andres. Quite by chance, I saw this video and thought it would be useful. It is very well explained and demonstrated. I hope it helps. All the best.
That could be interesting but, for me I have a few razors that I find are a perfect shave, namely my Gillette Slim and my Fine Marvel and my R106. All very different but they are my current favourites.

Thank you mate. I'll keep this short, today. I hope you're having a decent week. Take care.
Oh, thanks on the haircut. It's a good job you can't see the back. I cocked it up!
Hello Mark. I Lather in a 0.25p plastic bowl. It's great and no fear of breakage!
Mate, that is the best way. I've already broken one sink with a shaving bowl 😕 I'm trying to move away from plastic but it's hard to find something else, lightweight and sturdy that won't break when dropped. Cheers.
How would you compare the 3one6 to a Rockwell 6s. Which plate number?. I have the DE89 and most people say that it compares to a plate 3 to 4.
I don't have a 6s, Andrew but my 2c has a number three plate. Assuming they shave the same I would say a 3-4 is s good comparison. This is from memory, mind you. It's been a long time since I shaved with it.
@@FriendshipShaving So about the same as a DE89.
Just got a 3one6 I find using a voskhod blade gives me a smooth and nic free shave 👍
Nice one. I'm going to have get another one and give it another try. All the best.
The Taiga does look a very nice razor too. You have two good ones there Vladimir.
@@FriendshipShaving Thank you very much, Sir.
It sounds like you had a really great shave.
Yes great ☝️
Nice review Mark!
Friendship Shaving well there is an idea for a future video ;)
It is! 😃

Thank you very much, Sir.
I know what you mean, Claude. I help my Mam a bit, now she's in her eighties and there is always far too much housework. Oh yes, please do tell 👍
Is it like the feather AS-D2 that needs a steeper angle? I just wanted to ask is it worth getting?
The angle is slightly nearer the cap than usual. Is that steeper? It always confuses me. Is it worth getting? Chris, that's the million dollar question. Some love the 3ONE6, some don't and the Game Changer has very good reviews - quite a few seem to prefer it. For me, while I have really enjoyed using this there are other razors I much prefer. The Marvel being one.
@@FriendshipShaving yea shaving nearer to the cap is steeper. Anyway I appreciate the review. Thanks
Hi Mark. I hope you are well. Thanks for posting. I think I will have to try the Citrus Burst. You cost me a fortune, mate! Just don't tell my wife ;)
Your secrets safe with me, mate. 😉 My lips are sealed.
First, thanks Mark
Just ordered the brush
Well done 😃🎉 I'm sure you'll like the brush. All the best to you 👍
Nice review. I suppose if the 3ONE6 was a daily driver you would get used to how it likes to be used.
I think you would get used to it's idiosyncrasies but it may just take a while, as it has with me. If you don't like an aggressive razor you'd might struggle. That's kind of obvious, isn't it? 🙂
so how do you find the optimal angle??
Hi Andres. Quite by chance, I saw this video and thought it would be useful. It is very well explained and demonstrated. I hope it helps. All the best.
Sorry, I forgot the link. 😕

@@FriendshipShaving Thank you, Sir! I'm not sure I follow though, which video are you referring to? This one? Thanks!!
It's the Geo Fat Boys video from shaving nation. Once it gets started, it addresses the issue of finding the correct angle.
Don’t you wish you could take different pieces from different razors and create a perfect razor
That could be interesting but, for me I have a few razors that I find are a perfect shave, namely my Gillette Slim and my Fine Marvel and my R106. All very different but they are my current favourites.
