Good video! I have a question, I installed the same carbon BB and the Ridea Penuma Ti crankset. After installing them, I needed a 1mm spacer on the right to align with my 3 speed cog to make it neutral . Then I found that the crank shaft is too long by 4mm! On the left side, so I have to use the included plastic white spacers to put in between the arm and the BB. Is this the right thing to do?
I want to ask you, sir. If I want to install Rotor Crankarms with 2-speed chainring on Brompton S2E. How to choose Crank Axle? Standard axle or offset axle? How to choose Bottom Bracket? BSA or BB1? Are there other things that should be noted? Or if you have time, would you like to record a video of Rotor crankset? Thank you.
Hi Petrelli, thanks for the vlog, I watched it many times. Could you chare which Hawk Racing BB model you are using and would recommend for Brompton please?
Nice vlog. I am learning the hard way now installing a Rotor 3D30 crank and got a deep scratch on my rear triangle. I am wondering if you have any comment regards to the chainline after adding spacer to install the road crank?
Hi petrelli, i bought a used brompton a while back. It came with a sram red carbon crank. Was working fine until recently. The crank was not smooth like what u video mentioned. Went to 2 "brompton" specialist shop. Was told it was not suitable, and need to remove and put to a stock brompton crank. Anyway u can guide me? I tried to watsapp u. Duno whether r u still located at the same area as me as bike48 😅
Most of my own bikes are on 110BCD. In fact I had done with with the MTB’s 76BCD before. Never afraid to go small if it is what it takes to get the job done.
@@Petrellionwheels in looking at installing a 110bcd crank with a 34/50t dual chainring, but it has a 45.5mm chain centre line, Brompton is 43.x mm and I'm not sure if that's ok not a complete no no. I haven't got much experience with how to properly calculate the clearances so I don't mess up the bike completely, hence my questions. Any experience with such modification? Any advise?
Can you comment on how things feel with these kinda of upgrades. Ie compare to stock bb and stock crank. What improvements to the drive train do you see?
weight is one thing. I think the road bikes cranks along with the hollowtech BB gives a much smoother and stiffer ride. There are a lot of riders who likes to keep the look of the Brompton original crank, my advise to them is to get some nice square taper BB to replace the original one. The original BB last for years, but it isn't the smoothest in the world. I hope I had answered you and thank for spending a few minutes on my videos anyway. Cheers
Thank you for your question. If you are asking about what BB that you should be using on that road bike crank on the Brompton, I would try to find the thinnest one. However, most of the BB are with the same thickness. If you need to run on BB30, I know the token version is 1mm thinner on each side.
Oh yes you can, but it will take some attention. Do you have any bikeshop to work with you on this one? I am actually working on a video in regarding installing Road bikes crank on the Brompton.
Would love for you to make a detailed video about installing hollow tech setup.
Thank you for this video. I had the crankset replaced and I have exactly this problem and thanks to you now I know how to solve it myself.
Nice video. Looking around if u posted the hollow tech BB video
base on my understanding the brompton seatpost stem is not exactly at the centre of the bb, spacing is usually needed

Great video , i am planning for using praxis crankset with garbaruk chainring , i dont see much of this combo , have you had any encounter before?
Do you have a video on installation of Ti workshop Enduro Ceramic BB?

Hi Petrelli, is the titanium bb from TI parts any good?
Hi Petrelli i plan to put Dura Ace Crankset (9100) on my Brompton. What is your suggestion? Thanks.

I don't think there is an option here, as I had mentioned during the video, use as little washer as it needs to get the work done.
What sizing of BB & type do I need when I upgrade the BB & crank? Thank you for your time
Depends on your crank
But typically BSA

I have 2018 brompton I'm getting down to 20 pounds
Witch cranks work best sram red, dura ace, or fsa slk.
Or is it even lighter?

I am actually making a video about this as we speak.
Are you ever considering chainline ?
Is sram omnium crank a good one for Brompton?
I bought a used brompton manufactured in year 2012. it is possible to upgrade the crankset to shimano ultegra crank chaining 52,36T ?
