The Shade is here for the artifacts such as the wand and the black diamond. I believe he's just a collector and isn't really up to anything sinister in Blue Valley. Eclipso is the bigger evil and Shade will either try to contain Eclipso himself or warn the JSA about the danger he opposes. Thunderbolt attacked first. The Shade just defended himself, because they were all ready to charge at him :)
I think he views them as dangerous wildcards, and wants them. For example, nobody can release Eclipso and surprise him if Shade is keeping the diamond secure.
i think shade didn't kill dr midnite . Maybe he rescue him and escape. During the season 1 episode 1 opening fight, the shadow just pull dr midnite and shade probably ask him to escape from the area where they fight. I think shade really betray ISA for a reason.
I think they may have gotten the right actor for the role (although in the comics he's portrayed as quite a bit younger, but that's virtual immortality for you). Obviously playing from Robinson's version of the character, terrific voice, got the (non-supervillain) costume down pat. This is going to be VERY interesting.
I love how Stargirl and Doom Patrol both gave shine to underrated powerful villains. Hoping for a Justice League Dark series or Outsiders. Seeing live action versions of Eclipso, ISA, The Brain and Monsieur Mallah, Madame Rouge, Mr Nobody.

Tbh Shade’s powers are like a mix between tokoyami’s and kurogiri’s he can give physical form to shadows which he can shape and control as constructs but also teleport through them to other shadows

Probably over their tactics and ambition - he is simply a thief and not a child killer (end scene he is very worried and from what he said). I am actually thinking he is a potential ally.

What’s wrong? Superheroes are supposed to where colorful silly costumes that’s the whole point, btw all the suits here are comic accurate so I don’t see a problem but I’ll respect it...
For me the fun is there, they wear these classic costumes and the series goes down a pretty dark path with horror and comedy elements at the same time.

The Starman comic from the nineties had the Shade as a supporting character. It was wonderful, he was great. Probably, my favorite comic of all time.
