The performance: *Total Balalaika Show* consisted of total 160 performers on the same stage and more than 70,000 people came to watch Leningrad Cowboys featuring Red Army Ensemble performing mostly British and American rock-classics respectively. Sounds like pure absurdity doesn't it?
That's part of the joke. They have called themselves "the worst rock and roll band" on several occasions. Heck, it's the setup for the movie, they don't know anything about rock music in the movie and have to learn as they tour the nation...
