America's best living songwriter. After the first two songs, "Don't go anywhere". Classic Earle banter and the guys in the audience are really into it. Props to the judge too for making this part of his sentence.
Amazing person musician and one of the best song writers. Sounds the same live or on record. Been a Steve Earl fan since the beginning and have a lot of respect for Steve. As he says been to hell and came out whole and better on the other side.
I been there too, yu probably saw me back at the first shows, the tall skinny kid in the corner ? :) I had been a mindless rock-n-roller ONLY . . . until 'Guitar Town' . . . now i just can't listen to anything without good fiddle and pedal-steel guitar. Earl's music just keeps getting better, never stale. He wrote the first music I ever identified with . . . heart and soul . . . always. . . and I'm on my FIFTH wife, which has lasted longer that total of prrevious four.
I know the associate warden, Tommy Mills. He’s a substitute teacher at my school nowadays. But man he talks about this with everyone and tells everyone students to stay away from drugs and anything incriminating or else he’ll have to use his warden attitude on us.
Facebook asked that I keep comments respectful . I do believe I have followed proper Facebook protocol. This is indeed one of the finest musical videos of the 20th centuries. AMEN
Garrett Hale Which is easily the worst of all his great tunes, sure it has a cool and compelling story but it's so emotionally hollow compared to his other awesome stuff. It will always piss me off that in many places that's his only song folks ever heard on the radio. Steve is so much more than that one song!
@Steve Jones It's subjective and all his stuff is great but I Feel Alright, I'll Never Get Out of this World Alive, and Guitar Town are my favorite records of his.

This is a Powerful Doc and captures the genius and soul of one of America's most important song writers and Activists. Thank you for being you, Steve
one of the best gifts Steve gave to us and thank God he made it through his vacaton in the ghetto...have loved his music for years and years.

Kinda heart warming to see those hard ass gangstas rockin' out to Steve Earle. They weren't fakin'.

Was fortunate enough to be at Steve's first show out of prison. An intimate evening at TPac. I'll never forget it.

Nice acoustics in prison, not good enough to make the rest prison ok, but good
