    I put my crawlmaster mini esc in my ecto powering a 2200kv revolver. What a setup! So much nicer than the micro x 1. I want a few cm minis and a few micro x 2s too.

      @@edsadventures3575 I have a Sendero HD too. Great truck out of the box and easy to make even more capable. Watching rc-tnt's videos about it, and his comparisons to other rigs sealed it for me. Install the optional 11% OD gears and don't look back. Combine that with the good steering angle on the Element axles, and you'll be a happy camper on tighter gated courses

    I've never built a truck that ran completely silent as far as motor sound. I like the castle sound more than the brushed motor sounds. Once you get a "tuned ear" for the castle I think the audible noise does help driving performance. You see and hear what is happening as the truck crests over an obstacle. With zero noise it would be hard to determine throttle control, and at the point it peeks the rock, and is no longer bound up it could shoot over it. Or in a competitive arena, nail a gate. With zero loss of torque, and power, when under the maximum amount of resistance, I would like silent. Until that day comes, the sweet hum of a castle system is music to my ears.

    • @Truckmonkey81
      @Truckmonkey81 2 года назад

      I like the whine for the same reason, I like the audible sound to determine the amount of throttle I'm giving it. Instead of reacting to the truck moving in a silent system, I can hear it spool up before it takes off, it also helps to minimize wheel bind if your paying attention.

    I ran a Revolver with a Copperhead 10 for a while. I actually think the Revolver sounds cool, but the volume and frequency gets obnoxious after a while. I couldn't run it long in my garage without my ears ringing, and trailing it lets everyone know you're coming 😂. I'm using a local outfit's silent ESC and have a Crawmaster V2 on the way from y'all as I type this 👍. I'll have an extra esc pretty soon and I think that means I need to build a new rig for it haha

    I was wondering if you ever considered a more varied rock surface for your rock setup. Like have smoother surfaces and dusty surfaces along with hydrophobic and severely porous rocks. To force additional differential function and importance on tire composition and tread types?
    In my experience it seems most rock trails are setup with the same rock types and it just never seemed natural or even intriguing.

I'm looking to use a 1/10 ESC as a servo controller for a giant scale servo I plan to build with a drill motor. Is there some way to splice in a potentiometer to a regular ESC to make it work like a servo controller?

    Or would brushless be the best way to go? Which is what I'm thinking as I do want to rock race with my bomber.

  • @blindj

    Question - would a pwm / frequency slider option be able to cancel that noise or would that be a bad idea because it would just create too much heat for that ESC allowing people to adjust the frequency?
    I ask because I had a hobbywing ESC sensored that at certain numbers like 1K it would make a very similar wine to a castle but 2K through 10K it was completely silent.
    I was using it for a drag racing so 1K allowed it to give me the blast of power/rapid response I was asking for
