This short warm-up routine might only be 9 minutes but it is one of the best (and easiest!) things you can do to improve your art. You can follow along using your favorite drawing tool (pencil & paper, iPad, computer, etc.)
These exercises are a great way to start a drawing session but they can also be done by themselves as a way to train your brain, your eyes and your arm on days where you might not have the time/energy to create a full piece.

What is truly astonishing is that this artist has such skill that she can draw with the pencil or pen far back in her hand in the crook of her thumb so that her thunb and knuckles obscure what is being drawn. This means she is so confident that what she does with hand and arm movement she could create these shapes blindfold. It's like any brain to hand and muscle-control skill, it becomes automatic when a tremendous amount of it has been done. Drawing has to become an extension of one's mind. Most concert pianists have put in at least 10 thousand hours of practice and development before they can confidently perform at top level. Art is just the same there are no shortcuts. But this video is extremely useful. Fascinating stuff.

I forgot to check what date I started doing this on but I've been doing it every day for about 3 weeks now and just wanted to say thank you :) I'm still not very good at most of it but it gets me started on drawing every day and I've been saving all of my warmups so I can look back and hopefully see an improvement in the future. And I could probably recite the whole video off by heart by now XD

I would also suggest openning Blender and drawing the cube from different perspectives.
Practice day 1 - i decided i wanna go to a uni for graphic design (and i have 19 days to make 10 drawings for my portfolio). Ive been drawing since i was a child, but i never went to art school or anything so I'm going over the basics. Hopefully i can get there on the first try. :) if not I'll try next year

Practice day 10: I can see some improvement in my circles and c- and s-curves. Connecting the dots became easier when I started to look at the dot I was going towards instead of following the tip of the pen with my eyes. The last two exercises still look pretty bad, but I am excited for the progress I have made already.
