Coming from a U.S citizen. I sincerely hope you UK folks enjoy Clash At The Castle. I know it’s not Wrestlemania or Summerslam. But I hope you guys have a ball and it’s a great show
When I was a kid I got to go to rebellion during the invasion angle and got to see rock Vs stone cold live I still have the t shirt as an adult I see how lucky I was to go as they more or less stopped ppvs after that
I really hope this marks the start of the UK getting PPV's like Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Survivor Series and WrestleMania, I want it to get to a point where UK PPV's seem normal and WWE actively want to have them here aswell.
Well that's never going to happen is it. Why would WWE put their biggest PPV on in another country?? Let alone a much smaller country that Americans wouldnt even be able to watch live because of time difference.
@@midnightwolfee2128 WrestleMania UK isn't going to happen. The other 4 that he listed though? I'd be surprised, but not shocked, if one of them gets announced some day. A Saturday afternoon/evening SummerSlam might actually be a good idea. Have a BBQ viewing party with your friends. MitB could probably fill a stadium in the UK when the US is limited to arenas. Similar with Survivor Series. RR UK has little going for it besides having a 'Royal' event in a country with a monarch.
That's entirely up to Americans. If the US viewership for Wales is comparable to US events, they'll do more shows there. But you can't expect them to leave money on the table if fans won't tune in earlier in the day.
For WWE in UK all I really hope to see is a classic "Benny Hill" chase scene for the 24/7 title and Drew and Sheamus do walk on cameos on Coronation Street and get in a bar room brawl in The Rover's Return...
A huge nod of respect to my British brothers and Sisters of the UK 🇬🇧 Much love to y'all! ❤ and Adam I was wondering would you do an Every Rock/Austin PPV/PLE match ranked?
I haven't even watched the full video yet but I know that SummerSlam 1992 and One Night Only are going to be #1 and #2 respectively. Edit: What did I tell ya?
I used to have No Mercy 1999 (uk) on video, I loved it as a kid! The run in at the end where everyone the ministry had wronged throughout the night came out to get their own back was awesome as a kid!
I was at most of these. WOW I’m old 😂🤦🏻♂️ ONE NIGHT ONLY 97 was my favourite broke out into a mini/mild riot people were furious. Worse was Mayhem in Manchester 98 (which made it to VHS) Undertaker wrestled in what I can only describe as over washed, black to grey, baggy primark pyjamas.
Missed a few things regarding few shows....No Mercy 99 was week before Over the Edge/Owen Hart's death #1, #2..Insurrection 02 was last WWF branded PPV/Televised show with the WWE name being used from the following Monday's Raw, #3...Ric Flair was the special guest referee for the Austin/Show match and it ended in controversy with Flair not seeing Show's foot on the rope when Austin pinned him (the match being for a WWF Title Shot if Austin won) and #4, Rebellion 99 began the Stephanie heel turn angle when Bulldog accidentally hit her in the head with a garbage can in a fit of rage over not getting a WWF Title shot backstage, causing her to lose her memory for a time, leading up to Triple H marrying her in secret from under nose of Test about a month later.
#3 is way off. You're confusing it with Austin and Undertaker's match at Backlash a few weeks prior. At Insurrextion Austin beat Big Show clean, with Nick Patrick making the count. Flair was a back-up referee for that match.
The UK crowds can be very vocal. Even though I kinda love watching rare odd jobber matches as a sort of morbid curiosity factor. But why put such lousy cards in UK? Did we not deserve it or were the stars exhausted from touring so they put on weaker cards.
You blokes didn't have to pay to watch PPV's on television, so yeah you kinda deserved it. Supporting WCW's product by late 2000, after everything Vince had done for you people was also ungrateful and really, and act of betrayal.
I had a Rebellion 2001 DVD as a kid and really enjoyed it. I still think the end to the Edge and Christian match is one of my favorite finishes to a cage match.
Oooh this brings back annoying memories! I was maybe 13 and a UK wrestling magazine (not wcw or wwf) had a competition for ringside tickets to one of these ppvs. I was so motivated I sent in no less than 50 postcards, all decorated with wrestling related stuff I either drew or cut out and used for a collage. Next issue comes out and I'm mad as hell. Not because I didn't win (absolutely didn't help...) But specifically that the one who won was a 4 year old kid who went with his mom.. Absolutely no way that kid would have remembered a second of that show by the age of 5. It felt like the prize was squandered on the least deserving person who could never possibly comprehend it's value. Ooohh I hated that day!
I laughed hard when you said the UK version of No Mercy had Tiger Ali Singh vs. Gillberg. That just summed up the interest of WWE at handing out greatness at these UK PPVs.....and for the record, they should have been great shows and many werent.
They were really just glorified house shows on exhausting European tours. And the weekly tapings were must-see for us fans back then. So why should these shows have been so great?
Rebellion 2001 is a really good show, check out Brian Zane’s review of it, if you feel so inclined. I’m so glad you guys did this video, Cultaholic is the best! Love you guys.
Insurrection 2003 was an amazing PPV I Have it on DVD and Stacy Keibler Looked Smoking Hot at that PPV she's a legend and a WWE Hall Of Famer in my book Torrie Wilson is in the WWE Hall Of Fame so why can't Stacy.
WWE No Mercy from Manchester VHS and the Backlash VHS (the one with the giant swinging hooks) were my first two WWE products, so I have a soft spot for them, especially the No Mercy one. It may be garbage, but its my garbage.
Hopefully they come to drews real home Scotland because wwe NEVER HAD PPV IN SCOTLAND so when they say uk might asweell rename it mostly England until Saturday night it's Wales but never in Scotland hell nxt uk takeover went to England, Wales, Northern Ireland but not Scotland maybe covid spoiled that

If they play the Benny Hill theme music during that 24/7 chase, I'm down with that. R.I.P. Benny Hill, gone but not forgotten.
Rest in Pieces 24/7 title, gone and soon forgotten.
I went to the UK No Mercy in 1999 with my dad who sadly passed this year. Happy memories.
Summerslam 1992 is still legenday ppv as always for UK
I feel a bit sad that Takeover : London, UK Takeover : Blackpool, Blackpool II and Cardiff are not included :(

Clash at the Castle should be awesome bc UK crowds are always awesome for wrestling!
So cool go see them go to Cardiff. Wwe being Pg they should getThe Doctor to make an appearance lol
Quite a few of those matches at Rebellion 02 were never released on the DVD which sucks.

The Shawn Michaels / Rick Martel match was a pretty this at summerslam 92
You should do one of these for Canadian ppvs
Did I just hear Ultimate Warrior going for 30 minutes?? WTF!!

Insurrextion 2002 still has a warm place in my heart for some reason. Objectively it's a horrible show, but I just like it for some reason.
