@jc-iz8lp the 16 has a more powerful M4 Pro processor and the speakers are a lot more powerful, bigger fans make it run faster and quieter than even the 14 inch version with the same processor and the bigger screen could all be reasons potentially
@@jc-iz8lp yeah it’s pretty much due to everything the other comment was saying. There’s simply more power and better hardware with the 16 inch. I caught it at a great price for Best Buy’s door buster
You're going to extremes. You're saying if you're stacking 4K footage on very complex long and heavy duty video editing then maybe this isn't enough but if you're doing a quick TikTok is fine. There's a lot between there that this laptop is capable of doing. In fact is capable of doing most work anyone can throw at it.
Honestly the only way I see value of the base M4 is in the Mac Mini and that 600$ price tag... for few hundred dollars more you get much more value out of a Macbook Pro M4 PRO
@ The first, from a premium reseller, had paint flaking off type-C ports. The second, from Apple’s official store, had paint flaking from a screen corner. Both were space black. I returned both and gave up buying.
@@google_doodles-games the standard screen already gets bright enough for any form of indoor light, nano texture better of you use your laptop outdoors
@google_doodles-games if you mostly use it in a room without windows or bright lights then it isn't worth the extra money + colors are slightly duller on nano texture but not a lot
@@google_doodles-games In my opinion, I like the glossy look; I also like the colours that glossy has; it's more dark, which I like. I also use my MacBook inside most of the time, so there's no need for me or people like me to get a Nano. It also looks weird to me, looks cheap, and I have been hearing a lot of people returning their Macs because the nano wasn't what they expected.
What do you need these days to create Excel files? The same Excel that exists for 30 years + which I could operate with laptop harvesting a 1000 less power… this is just madness
Do you recommend the 12-core pro chip or the 14-core pro chip? Having a hard time deciding between them both. A little longer battery vs extra performance
@Wunderkinddd the m4 pro is quiet a bit more powerful than the base m4 in terms of graphics power so unless what you do needs a lot of graphics processing, the base m4 is good enough
@@jimtipton8888this would be my first MacBook Pro coming from a intel iMac I got for highschool. Is this M4pro the best bang for buck purchase and reasonable to spend on for future proofing my film career in video editing and those kind of stuff ?
For the amount of money you’re paying having a good camera is literally the most bare minimum thing which they only started like a few years ago pretty sure
I really need to update from my 2017 mac air - but idk if it's worth getting a m4 pro just to do basic work like emails, writing, multiple tabs open, etc would the m4 just be overkill? Should I just go with like an m2 or something?
@americanprincess851 not sure, I personally went for the M4 Pro as I could use the extra ram and speed as I want to do some video editing and graphic design.
@@SimplyPops I agree with you about the lit up Apple logo! I miss it too. This video helped me decide to get the base M4 > M4 Pro. That extra $ I would have used for the M4 Pro will go towards AppleCare. Having said that, do you still recommend any cases (or skins) for the MacBook? Or just rock no case if I’m investing in AppleCare?
Please Don’t buy base model if you are a professional 💀 video files, specially RAW are large. Clients sometimes need footage from previous projects so you have keep juggling between external ssds very inefficient workflow. Get a PC with lots of storage, cheaper & way more faster than MAC.
I need to look up a size comparison for my MacBook i7 15in 2016. To the m4 14 and 16 inch. I want a smaller screen than my 15in just because when I use it when in bed watching tv it blocks my tv unless I’m sitting up which idk. But the cooling is my biggest concern for a compact 14in compared to the 16 where it has a larger chasity. Nano texture I’ve been on the fence with. Less eye strain would be nice but the deep blacks and color richness I like with the gloss
I've picked the one without nano-texture because I want more rich and punchy colors. :) Mine is the base 14" with M4 Pro -> 24GB RAM/512GB SSD.
Im considering buying the one you got! Any issues?
I got the exact same lol and its coming today in space black.
@@vinilreddy3044 none! Everything is perfect. :)
@@thedevilsTV How is it?
@vhateg it's rapid, and also love the new apple intelligence built in. So very satisfied with the purchase.
I have never seen a Matt screen that I preferred. I agree with you, the color and contrast of glossy are more important for my use.
I’m literally returning mine for an M4 Pro 16 in. I bought the base model with 1tb
Can you tell me why you returned it for a 16 inch? is it that much better?

I think i will buy the base M4, with 24 RAM and 512 SSD (i hesitate with 1To but i use external SSD)

I tried to buy a MacBook Pro M4 Pro twice, but both had cosmetic flaws. I ended up returning them and decided to give up on owning a MacBook.

Me too I've just sent back my MBP space black coz it was scratched on the case side bottom
I don’t know why they took the logo in the back of the Mac that lights up..shit was dope..
I think the 16 inch is probably a really good offer, with 48gb of ram and 1 tb with no nano texture . I’m picking one up tomorrow! 😊
why without nano texture? (agree with everything else)
Probably because Bestbuy has the non nano texture models on sale for $300 off
