A genuinely valuable video. So many of the videos labeled like this on youtube are bot junk that offer no actual solution to the problems they claim to solve. This one is great! I have an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.1 that was damaged. Apple sent a replacement, but it was of course on iOS 17. I could not get the new phone updated in order to do the transfer until watching this video. One quick addendum if you're running a beta OS. You will need to at least sign in to your Apple ID initially so the beta is available to you in the software update screen. Everything else is the same and worked perfectly for me.

Man, thank u❤ u saved birthday today. We waited all day iPhone to get updated, but it was stucked for over 9 hours. Apple support had same idea, but they didn’t explain that we should update phone first. In this way it’s took me 90 min. Thank u very much again!❤
Thank you for this video - I ran into this issue when setting up my new iphone. Did exactly as the video suggested and was able to complete my setup. They should have a link to this video in the iPhone setup guide 🙂
My sister threw my phone in the water by accident and i got to use my moms phone. and i was stuck on the software update for 2 days and this really helped!❤
What do I do if after doing the update on the new iPhone but it says there is data on the new iphone ? I checked the old iphone and it looks like all my content is still there . On the new iphone when I hit “erase all content and settings” I see - Apps and data 15.5 gb and then below that I see eSIM. When I hit continue it asks if I want to “keep eSIM and erase data” or “delete eSIM and erase data “ not sure what do to ! Any help would be much appreciated!!
