A few fun facts about Queen:
    * Guitarist Brian May has a Ph.D. in Astrophysics and built his electric guitar (Red Special) when he was 17 (with his dad).
    * Bassist John Deacon has a degree in electronics. He designed and built the amp that Brian sometimes uses to create unique sounds on Red Special. John was also involved in the band’s financial management.
    * Drummer Roger Taylor has a degree in biology (pre-med). His vocal range is better than most lead singers of other groups.
    * Lead singer Freddie Mercury has a degree in graphic design. It goes without saying that his vocal range was amazing and he was the best front man of any band.
    * All four have written #1 hits, and all are members of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

It was an effort to raise money for the famine in Ethiopia and had a concert in London and Philadelphia, and was broadcast worldwide to an audience of between 1-2 billion. Almost all of the major bands of the day performed, each getting 20 minutes, and Queen absolutely stole the show. Still considered the greatest live performance of all time.

In “modern-day” context, this song has a whole different meaning:
When guitarist Brian May tours nowadays with Queen + Adam Lambert, Brian always performs THIS song himself as a tribute to Freddie.
Brian plays/sings the first part of the song himself (w the help of the audience of course)…
THEN, a larger-than-life Freddie “walks out onstage” (on a GIANT video screen) and sings the last chorus, leading the audience to sing w him. There’s NEVER a dry eye in the audience, and Brian keeps a kerchief in-hand to wipe his eyes.
The most touching rendition I’ve seen on YT is one where Freddie’s mum, Jer Bulsara, was in the audience… and Brian says “Mum, this is for you!”🙏
(The other BEST version to see on YT is from New York City, performed c. 2014-15.)
It’s the most BEAUTIFUL tribute to friendship.💕

The guitarist is Sir Doctor Brian Harold May, the Rockstar-Astrophysicist .
Besides being a legendary guitarist, he is also a renowned expert in Stereoscopic 3-D Photography and owner of the London Stereoscopic Company, a published author, and combines his 3-D expertise with his abiding interest in astrophysics to collaborate with NASA and The European Space Agency (and other space scientists) to compile 3-D images from data obtained from various space missions.
On top of all this, he is a much sought-after public speaker on these subjects, with a special talent for translating highly technical information in a way that we non-scientists find fascinating and engaging.
AND he also uses his respected stature across all these “fanbases” to promote animal rights and environmental causes. His charitable trust called Save Me doesn’t just pay lip service to these causes either - Save Me Trust leads the way in programs and initiatives to save England’s hedgehog, badger and fox populations.
Brian’s countryside estate also houses the Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue, which takes in injured or otherwise distressed wild animals to be nursed back to health and released back to the wild when possible.
Oh, and let’s not forget he sells his own line of guitars (BMG - Brian May Guitars), which are based on the design of his own original Red Special that he built as a teenager with his father’s loving help.
Don’t ask me when or if this man ever actually sleeps…lol

The guitar player is Brian May and he's excellent and still plays with Queen to this day. Freddie's vocals, Brian's guitar work, and the crowd just make this performance epic! This song was to Freddie Mercury's girlfriend, Mary Austin, when Freddie told her he was bisexual. She left and this was his ballad to her on not leaving him and they remained very close till Freddie's death in 1991. She's the only one who knows where his ashes are and has never told anyone out of respect to Freddie's wishes. He referred to her as his common law wife even though they never married and he said she could never be replaced. She inherited the majority of Freddie's estate once he died including his music royalties and most of his money too. I love your reactions here! You should react to this same song live from Rock In Rio from 1985 because the crowd sings even more which is impressive since English is not the native language there. This is probably Queen's best live performance song because there's three main versions; this one from Wembley, Rock In Rio 85, and Motreal in 81. All three are great and different from one another. Can't wait to see more Queen reactions from you!

I don't think most could be a showman like Freddie and the Guy's.
I'm betting it emotional high like no other to sing have crowd in tears singing back to you and still having them eating out of the palm of your hand and asking for more.

He still sings it - at every Queen+Adam Lambert concert - Brian May - is his name - enters the stage alone with his 12-strings guitar and talks to the audience - and they agree to sing -- - and after the solo Freddie still arrives - now as a hologram and sings the last part - - exactly from this concert - and Brian may drop a tear.

You really must explore more Queen and the live performances are unreal. Freddie even sang duets with an opera singer.

In case you’re wondering, when Freddie shows his bum to the audience it’s a reference to a fallout Queen had in the early ‘70’s with their management company. They were selling records and headlining in Europe & Japan but were broke whist their manager was living quite extravagantly. Freddie wrote a scathing tribute to him (“Death on Two Legs”) which includes the lyric “you can kiss my ass goodbye”. RIP, Freddie.

Brian put his doctorate on hold to be in the band, & so he only more recently completed it, he's also appeard as a guest on scientific shows over in the UK (including the sky at night).
Freddie is/was the ultimate showman ,his passion for his craft is why he is still loved as a singer/performer, literally recording until his last few days of his life.

The guitarist is Brian May and not only is extremely talented he is a really kind and generous man. I suggest you react to Bohemian rhapsody which in my opinion is the best song ever written and was written by Freddie. It is long but the intensity and emotion is second to none. Not a Queen fan but when I first heard this on the 10th November 1975 I was transfixed and astonished. The DJ Kenny Everett was told not to play it on Capital Radio as it was too long, he ignored this and thanks to him we have a classic that everyone knows about.

Queen famous for their phenomenal live performances, Freddie Mercury considered one of if not the best frontman of a band and his flamboyant performances, he always played to the crowds and had them in the palm of his hand, I actually attended this 1886 concert and the year before in 1985 the famous Wembley live aid concert which was a charity concert for the Famine in Africa, Live Aid twinned with a concert in Philadelphia USA 🇺🇸, 92,000 at Philadelphia and 72,000 at Wembley, both concerts were televised and watched by 1.9 billion people worldwide, out of all the bands and artists that performed on the day Queen with their Legendary flamboyant performance stole the show and the performance is considered to be one of the best performance ever by a band,Queen all the guys in the band have written no1 hits and they have sold over 300 million records worldwide, also Queen as a band were all talented musicians, and Queens greatest hits is still the best selling album of all time in the Uk 🇬🇧, Welcome to Queen, great reaction thanks 🙏

This concert was one of two at that venue in front of approx 70,000, in later interviews lead guitarist Brian May had said they could have easily sold out a week of shows there, such was the demand and has also said that these shows that were part of their Magic Tour that year and it was the first tour they’d ever done where they’d made a profit!! They were flying high in ‘86, sadly it was the last tour they did, Freddie had contracted HIV and died from AIDS 5 years later 😢
