John lennon was my favorite and I was crushed when he was killed. He has another son named Julian who is also a musician. He is John's first child. RIP John Lennon❤
As they say, "Hurt people hurt people," and John was hurt a lot growing up, and when grown up he hurt others. Not an excuse, of course; just a reality. One has to unlearn those things, and John worked in that direction.
Sorry Martin but he's actually correct. I love John Lennon music, but he was awful to Cynthia Lennon and not a father to Julian Lennon. These are facts...hey jude was written by Paul McCartney about julian when John was off with oh no yoko ono
I don't think he's correct. While his facts are correct, his use of those facts as a basis for his interpretation requires that one is forever never better than the worst acts they commit. I don't accept that view of the world. People can learn, can grow, can strive to be better. It's certain John attempted that. I'm not making a concrete declaration of how successful he was, but my belief is that he made significant progress over the course of his life. Definitely not a saint, but i think he had high ideals that he tried (very imperfectly) to pursue. To me, that suggests some measure of goodness.
The lyric in the song “I can hardly wait to see you come of age…” always hits hard because the actions of a madman took away John’s chance to see his son grow up.
What a poet Lennon was,"life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans" In most of his songs he had a knack of writing something that we can all relate to.
As big of a Lennon fan as I am, he did not actually come up with those lyrics. Many believe he did, but actually several sources that have looked into the origin have attributed them to journalist and cartoonist Allen Saunders. However, it does nothing to diminish the beauty of this song. Btw, my favorite Lennon lyrics are: “Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see”
The Beatles were in their early 20's when they started and late 20's when they broke up, recording their last songs in 1969 and at that time John was 29. No Beatle was 30 years old when they broke up which is crazy knowing they are the greatest band of all time with a catalog of music that is unmatched. BEATLES FOREVER!
“Out on the ocean, sailing away I can hardly wait To see you come of age But I guess we'll both just have to be patient” These are the most haunting and sorrowful lyrics ever IMO as Lennon was murdered when Sean was only 5 years old and never got to see him grow up 😢
Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney for young Julian Lennon when his parents were getting divorced. I think you would enjoy the live TV version of Hey Jude.
John raised his son for 5 years. Then John was shot and died. Sean Lennon is now a lead guitarist and has worked on many projects. He was recently with Les Claypool. "The Claypool Lennon Delirium - Amethyst Realm" is pretty cool.
One of John's most precious beautiful songs. The back story is so involved. However....his comeback album "Double Fantasy" was a wonderful record. John was shot by a fan just weeks after this album came out.
Please do a deep dive into the Beatles. In chronological order, you will see that they led every change and spoke to the times so perfectly. John didn't leave to be a dad, but his relationship with his wife Yoko Ono was a big part of the bands break up.
Yoko the gold digger was a pain in the rear end, John was on heroin, but the bigger pain was business differences, so new "manager" con artist Allen Klein was a big part of the problem, plus the lads had grown out of each other personally and music wise. Just very complex reasons and egos finally broke up the band. YEH, she's got to go chronologically, the only way to understand the Beatles evolution fully. Usually reactors walk away afterwards with an incredible understanding of their influence and history instead of judging everything from their own lifespan point of view and some stupid unfounded gossip that started over 50 years ago [i.e. apparently Paul is still dead 😂. But so is Keith Richards...]. I would say the same thing for Duke Ellington and all the history of music.
@@thomastimlin1724 Yoko was famous before she met John, as an avant-garde NYC gallery artist. She was his soulmate. The Beatles simply grew apart from each other. Yoko causing the breakup was a myth.
The Beatles were in their early 20's when they became famous. John broke up the Beatles, did some other albums then Sean was born later. John was assassinated by a lunatic in Dec. 1980. I remember where I was when it happened.
The Beatles had struggled in sleazy clubs in leather jackets and blue jeans. in 1961 their new manager cleaned them up and put them in suits, had them bow on Tv and important concerts...no more swearing . drinking, and smoking on stage during the act or press interviews. They first became famous in England and somewhat in Germany. After their first official record, Love Me Do, went to #17 in England in Oct 1962, they built a large following over the next year plus while the USA kept rejecting their records. Finally in January 1964, Capital records released "I Want to Hold Your Hand" in the USA, it went to #1, and the rest is history. I strongly suggest you deep dive into the Beatles chronologically, read about it, do the music in order. They rescued pop and rock music, along with Motown whom they adored, from adult control and turned music world upside down, long hair was considered a communist plot to corrupt youth by parents and authorities lol, , boys all had short hair crew cuts lol. They also have a history of supporting civil rights...for your own sake, watch their movie A Hard days Night...it's a comedy with music but shows how it generally was back in 1964...crazy Beatlemania.
Every time I hear this song I think of how it must have been for his first son, Julien Lennon, who John would barely try to see. It was so painful for Julien that he wrote a song to his father in the 80’s called “Too Late For Goodbyes” Kind of spicy, you should check it out.
They got very famous in their early twenties and the band was not a thing after the early seventies. They were all so talented that they had great careers without each other. A song you should do because it sort of sums up what the Beatles did, could do, and shows their inventiveness musically is”A Day in the Life.”
Richard Dreyfus did a version of this song in the movie Mr. Hollands Opus. You might have heard of John and Cynthia's son, Julian Lennon. Cynthia was John's first wife and they had Julian. Sean was from John's second wife, Yoko Ono.
Watching you stumble through the curiosity and questions about the Beatles is quite similar to a baby taking her first steps. Your world is about to a take remarkable new journey.
If you don't know the Beatles you miss the most important time in rock, pop history because they were the biggest and most influential ever and changed a whole culture. .Ask any musician in the Music Hall of Fame .In the first 3 years they had 6 ,number 1 Albums . Had 12 songs in the top 100 at the same time including the top 5 spots. A week later they had 14 songs in the top 100 . Also did 2 movies as the Beatles, a Saturday morning Cartoon of them with their songs, and toured the world constantly ,all while writing hit songs. They stoped touring after 3 years ,as they couldn't even hear themselves playing because of the screaming teens .. In about the next four and a halve years they had 6 more # 1 albums , and several more hits singles ,without them touring . In all 12 # 1 albums , 21 # 1single , 27 if you count U.K.. This at a time when you had to but a physical record . No down loading for pennies. They change the course of Music , over and over and over again . When they broke up all four individually were very successful with all have # 1 hits and Albums .That's a Short Resume . Paul McCartney and Ringo Star are still alive and touring to sell out crowds . It's the biggest Rabbit Hole ever..
This particular song was literally playing on my turntable in my bedroom as a senior in high school when my mom knocked on my door and leaned in and said I didn't mean to bother you, but I thought you should know that John Lennon has been assassinated. I felt crushed. The news shocked and saddened the world, in a more intense way than it was 10 years before when the Beatles announced their breakup in 1970 when they were in their late twenties and getting to be around 30. Lennon & McCartney met each other in middle school so yeah they knew each other since 15 or so, and then George Harrison shortly after, and he's an interesting story too because he was the poorest of them all, and you have to keep in mind it's Liverpool this kind of blue collar port town, but George of all things although he was the baby of the bunch, was actually known as a pretty tough Street Fighter at least in his younger years, and he wanted to play guitar like Carl Perkins so badly, but they couldn't afford an actual guitar, so is Dad made him a small version of a guitar out of a cigar box as the resonator for the body and then part of a broomstick or something for the other part.
His song Imagine, and the video, is one of the most amazing ever. It brings me to tears every time. Imagine all the people living life in peace………….if only.
John Lennon is a lyrical genius and he just touches something different in me. My favorite one of his is "Mother". It just hits me. You should hear it.
Now this one will get me every time. Sit down and watch Mr.Holland’s Opus (Movie) This song is played in here by this teacher to his beautiful deaf son. ❤❤❤❤❤
The Beatles are literally the most famous rock band that has ever lived! To say they were extremely popular is an understatement! They changed the world of music! The most selling act in the history of music! John Lennon was the lead singer songwriter for the band.
Sadly this was not long before he was killed. But it was an excellent video of a better time. Lennon picked up the guitar at about 17, when Elvis was taking off. Pretty much they worked a lot. He did a small time in art school also. But starting about 1961, they worked endlessly.
John started the Quarrymen band in 1956. The Beatles started recording for EMI in 1961. They had been playing for years. They started calling themselves the Beatles in 1960.
When the album with this song was released, yes, it had been 5 years since John Lennon was even seen on the musical scene!! To me, that is what makes his death even more tragic!!! He was OUT of the public eye for 5 years, raising his child, THEN when he decides to come back and put out a GREAT record, his life gets taken by a complete MANIAC😢😢😢
Britt - The Beatles finished recording their last album in August of 1969. John Lennon told the others that he was quitting the group on September 20th of 1969. John put out one solo album in each of the next 6 years (1970, 71, 72, 73, 74 & 75). His son, Sean, was born on October 9th, 1975... and John chose to be a stay at home father for the next four and a half years. He began writing new songs in June of 1980 and he released a new album on November 17th, 1980. Three weeks later (on December 8th, 1980) John was shot and killed outside the building that his family lived at in New York City. John had turned 40 on October 9th, 1980 - and his son had turned 5 on the same day. Paul McCartney (who co-wrote Beatles songs with John Lennon) picked "Beautiful Boy" as one of his desert island discs - when he was asked to pick the top few songs he would choose to have with him if he was stuck on a deserted island. It was clearly one of McCartney's favorite songs that John wrote.
This song was used in the movie "Mr. Holland's Opus," which was a fantastic movie about the life of one man. It's what I always think of when I hear this song.
This song brings tears to my eyes because John Lennon said in the lyrics he's going to have to be patient about him growing up and he didn't get to see that his son was only maybe about 8 years old when this happened and John his father was gone in an instant and then he never did grow up with his father for the 10-year and now he's an adult and he's also a musician and he's really good at it his mother Yoko is quite old now but she and one of the Beatles Paul McCartney commemorated an area of New York's huge part that they have across the water and it's called strawberry fields from that famous song and he did try to reconcile with Yoko Ono about his friend John and this was done I think in the 1990s but my father is gone he was quite old and I think that this is similar to me because this is how I felt when my father would help out with problems I had if you go to the actual official video of the song it actually is different than this one it has Sean having a picnic with his mom and dad and I think it was Ringo Starr and they were out in the back of one of the houses that John owned at the time
The Beatles were HUGE very young. They were worldwide superstars. Their music went through several stages, from bubblegum pop rock, then deeper/more meaningful songs, then trippy/esoteric stuff with instruments and rhythms from all over the world. Along that journey, each of them changed. John Lennon married Yoko Ono, who was a musician and artist, and she was accused of breaking up the Beatles, but yes, it was more that he wanted to spend time with his family than anything else. Then, horribly, he was murdered by a fan, shot outside his home in New York City by Mark David Chapman.
Congrats on the baby boy... I know exactly how you feel I had a baby boy 31 years ago lol . Every mommy knows that feeling. My baby boy now has a girl and boy himself . The feeling of pride for your children only gets better. Enjoy your children they are such a blessing.
There were multiple reasons for the Beatles breaking up but his son wasn’t one of them. He did retire from music for a while and just finished an album when he was murdered. I’m glad that you reacted to this song as my eyes were drying out and I needed to wet them.
You need to watch Now & Then. This is The Beatles last song ever! Paul and Ringo finished it with the original voice of John and also had some of George in it too. You would love it. You will need to watch the making of this video so that you understand how it was done.
John & Sean Birthday is October 9. My son was born October 10. I was hoping for the 9th. John was my favorite Beatle!!! I was devastated when he was murdered at age 40 in 1980 in NYC. He loved living there. Yoko is 91 now and lives in NY. Sean still lives in NYC and is a musician. I met him & saw him in concert. He is so sweet. What day was your son born. The 9th? Keep loving John I have for over 60 years! Paul McCartney (Another Beatle) is my husbands favorite & our grandson was born on his b-day June 16! We are so happy!
I cried for a week when he was assassinated. he was the most loved Beatle and the most talented. All he wanted was peace on earth and the powers that be the same ones that are doing there evil can not make money with peace only with war and violence 😢 check out him and his wife "Yoko Ono" week long 👉LOVE IN👈 where him and her stayed in bed for a week making love while a heard of reporters interviewed them.. the government was very scared of John Lennon because so many millions of people listened to him. ❤
Congratulations on you the new addition to your family. Your reaction was warm and sincerely heartfelt, particularly the part about how proud your husband is to have a son. I'd like to suggest another song about a father's love for his son. It's quirky but one of my favorites: David Bowie's Kooks. On an unrelated note, you remind me of Reese Witherspoon for some reason. Thanks.
The Beatles came to America in the 1960's. I believe their first appearance was on the Ed Sullivan Show. I remember when they became well-known in America, all the young girls would be screaming for them. Then their hair was considered long. It got longer in the 1970's. John Lennon was murdered (shot) in front of his apartment in NY. His wife Yoko Ono was with him at the time. I believe it was December 1980. It was so sad to learn of his death, I was at work (pm shift) when I heard the news. John was my favorite Beatle. I believe the girls had crushes on Paul McCartney. Of the four Beatles, only two are still alive. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. They must be late 70's=80's of age. The other Beatle was George Harrison and he passed away of an illness (cancer?). I believe Yoko Ono is older than John, somewhat abandoned her daughter from her previous marriage. I heard reports, John and Yoko tried to find her former husband and daughter. I believe she was living in Japan, (Yoko is from Japan) with her Caucasian father. By the 1970's and after the Beatles broke up, maybe Yoko's ex-husband did not like the lifestyle Yoko was living in with John and not want his daughter to be mixed up in it. I believe, eventually Yoko and her daughter reunited, she was an adult then. Yoko is an artist (strange art, in the movie version on how John and Yoko met, in the art gallery and he was interacting with her art). I believe she is a singer (like cats crying, but maybe it was Japanese words and style). I think back in the 1970's, Yoko was too progressive for me. John's later songs, one I remember called Woman. I have not heard it in decades, but what I remember, you can put it on your husband's playlist and then he can transfer it to yours. The news was John's wife Yoko broke up the Beatles group. I do not know the whole story about that, but all the Beatles had good solo careers and it is sad they were not all able to be living a longer life and maybe they could have done a reunion show together. It is sweet and touching how John put aside to raise his son, alongside with Yoko. John had a previous marriage and son before Yoko. His first son is Julian Lennon. John, younger and with the starting of the Beatles, its popularity, traveling, was not there for his first son. Both boys went into the music industry. I believe I saw a story/video of an Art Exhibit of Julian's and his mother (John's first wife), Yoko and Sean Lennon all attended and together. After John's death, there was a problem with Julian and what John left or did not leave in his Will for him and that went onto a long legal battle. I believe everyone settled, I do not know if everyone was pleased with the outcome, but it is good to see the wives and sons of John Lennon together at the art exhibit after 40 years after John's death. Before John Lennon's death, he was working on an album, or it was already out. I believe it was the first one after he spent the first 5 years raising his son Sean. Beautiful songs and very meaningful. I preferred John's music later in life than during the Beatles. His later songs had so much thought and personal meaning he put into it. The early Beatles was... I wanna hold your hand, yah, yah, yah and it keeps repeating itself. I realize you are very busy being a new mom and sharing the time with your daughter, but maybe one day you can read or watch a video of John's life and people still gather in front of John's apt on either his date of death or his brithday in memory of him and singing his song, Imagine.
Beautiful job.Plenty of reactors do the beatles and never say it's an issue. The beatles are at the top of the pyramid when it comes to music. They all had great solo careers also.John was amazing and it wasn't very nice how it ended for him.The world lost a great artist before his time, who could make making music look easy...Cheers
John Lennon was murdered (shot outside his own home by a deranged ‘fan’) just weeks after his comeback album with this song on it was released. After the Beatles broke up in 1970, John had a few wild years and released several albums before having his son Sean in 1975. As the video says, he gave up music and basically retired in ‘75 for five years to bring up his son, but was assassinated in 1980 just as he was re-emerging into public life. Such a massive loss, still felt to this day.
I really like the John, John became in the late 70s. With Double Fantasy and the most Recent Beatles song Now and Then it shows he had really changed into a husband and father. Got back with Yoko, beginning to make amends with Julian and Paul and then it was suddenly over, ripped away by a madman Listen (watch the videos) to Watching the Wheels and (Just Like) Starting Over, really gives an insight into his life from 1975 to 1980. Yes, The Beatles were young when they became absurdly famous, in their early 20s (John and Ringo were probably 22, George and Paul 20ish)
Lennon had been making music on his own without The Beatles for quite a few years by this point. He stopped releasing his own solo music to raise his son. The album which this song is from was his "comeback" album after a 5-year hiatus.
This is a hard one, with John being killed in 1980, it's been that long. The song will never be dated because it was about pure parental love and the way it was done. I was about 25 when John was shot. "Double Fantasy" 2 album set with his wife Yoko, they had recorded another 2 album set 'Milk and Honey". Thinking it was released well after John's assassination.
There’s a video here on the Tube called A Short History of The Beatles. Not very long and not exhaustive but it will get you up to speed on the basics their story, which is a remarkable story tbh.
Would love it if you reacted to The Beatles funny interviews and outtakes , They were so funny , Also there's brief history of The Beatles videos on here that would make for a good reaction i've seen a few people do them, Also their copywrite is getting better these days. :)
This song makes me sad. John devoted himself to Sean (his son with Yoko) but he only saw his first born son Julien on rare occasions. The fact that Paul was there more for Julien than John, endeared him to me. When the song Paul wrote for Julien (Hey Jude) came out it broke my heart.
Britt, could you react to "Watching the Wheels", another song from John Lennon's "Double Fantasy" album. There are 3 songs that Lennon wrote during his "break" from music that would later be released as Beatles songs. "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love" were released in the mid 1990s, and "Now and Then", which was released in 2023.
I’m actually begging you to listen these songs: Always on my mind- Chris Stapleton, That’s how love is made- The War and Treaty (an amazingly soulful husband and wife), and hey driver (featuring the war and treaty)- Zach Bryan. Love your videos❤ and I NEED these reactions! Also for something a bit different, you should try tummy hurts by Renee rap and coco Jones!
I believe this is a clip from the movie "Imagine: John Lennon" that was released in the late 1980's. His wife, Yoko Ono, used home movies and news clips to tell his story (from her point of view). It's a good movie. Worth checking out.
Hi Britt. You can safely react to the new Beatles song. Now and Then. Yes, it's new. Only a month or so since it's release. Interesting back story to it...
John Lennon and I were both born on October 9, Yoko was 2 years older than John, my wife is also Japanese and 2 years older than me. My favourite Beatle was George. Go figure, I also think that John was the most talented of the Beatles.
Do yourself a favour and go listen to the album version, it's tropical feeling, its calm, sincere and warm. It's like grandma's knitted blanket you want to wrap around you. That footage of them on the beach, was an Island Lennon bought, and was filmed weeks before he was murdered.
I was a huge Beatle Fan, I had all their albums. When John Lennon was died, I wept for hours. I saved the Newspaper article for years. He and the Beatles musical message was LOVE. The Last Song on the Beatles Abby Road Album is "The End" It was their final message. ruclips.net/video/12R4FzIhdoQ/видео.html
John Lennon was murdered just weeks after this song (and the album Double Fantasy) was released in 1980. The Beatles broke up in 1970 because they wanted to go different directions professionally. Each member had a solo career after the breakup. John stopped recording solo around 1974 and became a 'house husband'. He learned to cook and took care of his and Yoko's child, named Sean. After 5 years, John and Yoko decided to make another album called Double Fantasy, which contains the song, Beautiful Boy.
The Beatles broke up before Sean was born. But John did enjoy a hiatus from the music industry when Sean was born in 1975: His final album, released months before his death, was a comeback of sorts - a fact that I think was salt in the wounds at the time: He had found new inspiration and had plenty of plans. The Beatles met when they were teenagers and in their early 20s when they blew up, and then around 30 when they broke up. But all of them had prolific solo careers after.
It’s hard to imagine that you are so into music and don’t know anything about the Beatles. You probably know Michael Jackson or Beyoncé or stars like that. So take their star and magnify it by 1000 and then you have the Beatles they literally were the most famous people on earth everywhere in every country in every society in every little nook and cranny of the earth, these were the four most famous celebrities in the world. No one even came close And they were together for 10 years. By far away, the best music that Rock has ever produced. Also, no one comes close. They changed everything about music. They were groundbreaking in their inventiveness and in their musicianship and their creativity And they were inseparable for 10 years because they were the only people that could commiserate with one another. They literally could not walk outside without 20,000 people surrounding them. Hotels cafés airports Every single day for 10 years And just got to jon and he met Yoko Ono. And he decided that he wanted to have another kind of life rather than being one of the Beatles And that’s how they disbanded
This is a John Lennon song, not a Beatles song so there’s that. This is a song about his son with his second wife Yoko Ono. He left his first wife and son for her. Paul McCartney wrote “Hey Jude” for Julian Lennon, his first son, when his dad left.
I have another bit of information for you this was his second son he was married to somebody else in the 1960s and his son Julian was born and he looks identical almost to his father he had a number one hit in the 1980s and I think it's called it's much too late for goodbyes and he really does look like his father in that one he's only in his 20s when he sang that song and I couldn't believe how he also sounds like his father when he sings that song he was multitasking because he plays the harmonica and then his guitar right after that so he has musical Talent like his father did. You should actually watch that video as well and I would recommend it
Sadly, John Lennon was assassinated, gunned down outside of his apartment building by a deranged fan. It shocked, stunned, and stopped the world for that terrible day. All the radio stations played Lennon and Beatles music 24/7 for several days. Double Fantasy was his "comeback " album after spending 5 years away from music, raising Sean and Julian, which made it even more tragic, because it was obvious that he was very happy, and looking forward to a long life with his family and making music, until that fateful awful day in December of 1980.
After the Beatles split (1970), John and Yoko released a few albums and were relatively active in human rights movements until the couple separated. John released two more albums and after he and Yoko got back together, their son Sean was born (1975). That was when John retired from show business and began living at home taking care of his baby. Finally, in 1980, he returned to the studio and the couple released the album “Double Fantasy” (“Beautiful Boy” is on the playlist). Unfortunately, at the end of the same year (December 8th), when he was recording a new album, he was shot dead in front of the building where he lived. He was only 40 years old. A crazy loser who is still in prison today put an end to what seemed to be a prolific new stage in John's career. And, of course, it destroyed a family.
The Beatles became a group in 1960, A few of the band members had been playing the Liverpool scene for about 4 years before that, as the Quarrymen, with Paul and George. (Ringo came later.) They were only 16 then. In 1960, when they became the Beatles they started having big hits. By 1962-63 they were World known! They played and wrote many, many hits. A large part due to John and Paul. You liked this song, that he wrote for Sean. He wrote the Song Hey Jude, for his Older son (by his 1st marriage) Julian. As with all groups time and touring will get to you. The pressure of fame. So by 1970 it was obvious that the group was going to break up it was just a matter of when. A lot of People Blame John's 2nd wife Yoko Ono for the break up of the band, but that is far from the truth. The band was having all sorts of difficulties, from choosing a Manager, to who would take care of the finances. It just so happened that John and Yoko had just got married around that time and then had Sean. So people found it easy to make her the scapegoat. Unfortunately John was murdered in front of his home, The Dakota, in NY City, on December 8th 1980 as him and Yoko were returning home. The mad man that killed John did so for "religious reasons"! I will not say his name here for I will not give a killer any glory in any way. He got 20 to life and has been denied parole several times.
John lennon was my favorite and I was crushed when he was killed. He has another son named Julian who is also a musician. He is John's first child. RIP John Lennon❤
He pretty much ignored Julian and physically abused his first wife, not a good man by any means.
@@MCGguitar698 dont talk crap man go take your bs somewhere else .
What a poet Lennon was,"life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans"
In most of his songs he had a knack of writing something that we can all relate to.
As big of a Lennon fan as I am, he did not actually come up with those lyrics. Many believe he did, but actually several sources that have looked into the origin have attributed them to journalist and cartoonist Allen Saunders. However, it does nothing to diminish the beauty of this song. Btw, my favorite Lennon lyrics are: “Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see”
@@willblood7082 Henry Cooke, huh.
They were in their teens when they started but early twenties when they became famous.
@@JamesLachowsky true. When they played Hamburg (before great fame) their lead guitarist, George Harrison was too young to be in a drinking bar.
“Out on the ocean, sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But I guess we'll both just have to be patient”
These are the most haunting and sorrowful lyrics ever IMO as Lennon was murdered when Sean was only 5 years old and never got to see him grow up 😢
Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney for young Julian Lennon when his parents were getting divorced. I think you would enjoy the live TV version of Hey Jude.
I think you got a shortened version of the song, but definitely add it to your playlist. It's one of his most pure and beautiful songs.
Definitely added 😎
It's a cut from the movie "Imagine" (1988). Some verses are missing.
And now that little baby (Sean) in his late 40s surpassed dad John ever lived.
That's so wild and sad to think about :(
John raised his son for 5 years.
It was so painful for Julien that he wrote a song to his father in the 80’s called “Too Late For Goodbyes”
Kind of spicy, you should check it out.
I love that song!
Julian was John’s son by his FIRST wife Cynthia - his kid with Yoko is Sean Lennon.
@@imweakfordeakyRe-read the comment.
@@chrispavlich9656 Yeh...really...hahaha
Hey Jude was written for Julian by Paul.
@@theresaschmidt1183 But Paul isn’t Julian’s father.
Watching you stumble through the curiosity and questions about the Beatles is quite similar to a baby taking her first steps. Your world is about to a take remarkable new journey.
That was a short Demo version of the song with interviews mixed in. You should still check out the album version of the song.
All of his songs on Double Fantasy were written within two weeks. God what talent.
Oh boy this one breaks my heart. So sweet and they had so little time together
John was shot in Dec 1980 outside their apartment building in NYC less than a couple of months after this song, as part of an album, was released.
Best to you, your family and all your boys.
I sang that song to my children many nights..Also "Good Night" from the White Album.
Mr Holland's Opus is the first I ever heard this song. He sings it his son, in that! Tender, tender song!
"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" -- my favorite quote of all time cuz it applies SO MANY TIMES!!
John Lennon is a lyrical genius and he just touches something different in me. My favorite one of his is "Mother". It just hits me. You should hear it.
There is a beautiful movie Mr. Holland's Opus with Richard Dreyfuss. This song is so beautiful in this film.
Now this one will get me every time. Sit down and watch Mr.Holland’s Opus (Movie) This song is played in here by this teacher to his beautiful deaf son. ❤❤❤❤❤
Just a couple weeks ago I saw Sean Ono Lennon playing guitar at some crazy avant- garde music performance
Britt, please check full version of this song, you will get goosebumps.
This track slays me. It’s SO gorgeous, about joy and love. They’re small only briefly.
Raised my son mostly myself and this is spot. on.
My silly brain sees "Lennon picked up the guitar" and it goes "Why? did the guitar need a ride?" or "Why? did he drop the guitar?"
@@thomastimlin1724It is an old expression.
John started the Quarrymen band in 1956. The Beatles started recording for EMI in 1961. They had been playing for years. They started calling themselves the Beatles in 1960.
Julian, his other son, sang some of his fathers songs, which became hits. So simular to dad. ❤
That is one of my Favorite. So very beautiful
It really is!
A WOMAN WHO'S HEART IS JUST AS HUGE AS HER BEAUTY COWBOYS❤
The official version/release of this song is from the Double Fantasy album, you need to hear that one.
This song brings tears to my eyes because John Lennon said in the lyrics he's going to have to be patient about him growing up and he didn't get to see that his son was only maybe about 8 years old when this happened and John his father was gone in an instant and then he never did grow up with his father for the 10-year and now he's an adult and he's also a musician and he's really good at it his mother Yoko is quite old now but she and one of the Beatles Paul McCartney commemorated an area of New York's huge part that they have across the water and it's called strawberry fields from that famous song and he did try to reconcile with Yoko Ono about his friend John and this was done I think in the 1990s but my father is gone he was quite old and I think that this is similar to me because this is how I felt when my father would help out with problems I had if you go to the actual official video of the song it actually is different than this one it has Sean having a picnic with his mom and dad and I think it was Ringo Starr and they were out in the back of one of the houses that John owned at the time
I still remember the day he was murdered, forever etched in my mind. They all(the Beatles) were a gift.
Another sweet father song is Ben Folds’ Still Fighting It. The line ”You’re so much like me, I’m sorry” always gets me.
You need to hear his song "Love is real".
You need to watch Now & Then. This is The Beatles last song ever! Paul and Ringo finished it with the original voice of John and also had some of George in it too. You would love it. You will need to watch the making of this video so that you understand how it was done.
What a fitting song for your family situation! God works in mysterious ways!
We are so happy!
every time i listen to this song i use a box of tissue , the short version cuts the heart of this song to pieces , listen to the original
I cried for a week when he was assassinated. he was the most loved Beatle and the most talented. All he wanted was peace on earth and the powers that be the same ones that are doing there evil can not make money with peace only with war and violence 😢 check out him and his wife "Yoko Ono" week long
👉LOVE IN👈 where him and her stayed in bed for a week making love while a heard of reporters interviewed them.. the government was very scared of John Lennon because so many millions of people listened to him. ❤
John’s “little boy” Sean is 48 years old. The Beatles were 18-21 when they hit it big.
19-22 years old when first album came out.
Thanks.

John Lennon's 2 Children. Had to bring Julians spirits up when his dad wrote this for Sean.
Awesome reaction.
I used to sing this song to my grandson when I would babysit him.
Got back with Yoko, beginning to make amends with Julian and Paul and then it was suddenly over, ripped away by a madman
Listen (watch the videos) to Watching the Wheels and (Just Like) Starting Over, really gives an insight into his life from 1975 to 1980.
Hey Britt, I missed you.❤ and I miss John too. RIP.
This was a short version. Not the entire song. You can download the entire version. It is a beautiful song. 🙂
John Lennon was shot and killed in 1980 when his son Sean was 5. The Beatles were together as a band from essentially 1960 to 1970 when they broke up.
Would love it if you reacted to The Beatles funny interviews and outtakes , They were so funny , Also there's brief history of The Beatles videos on here that would make for a good reaction i've seen a few people do them, Also their copywrite is getting better these days. :)
this beautiful song has become very sad given what happened shortly after it was written... the monster was closer than he knew
You’ve got a new lullaby for your baby boy! 🩵
This sounds like a demo version it's short. Listen to the album.version. this song always makes me cry
Before the Beatles were formed, John created a band called The Quarrymen back in 1956 when he was a teenager.
This is a great fun fact!

In less than a month after the album with this song came out John was murdered by a crazed fan.
Thank you. ❤❤❤
No one even came close
And they were together for 10 years. By far away, the best music that Rock has ever produced. Also, no one comes close.
They changed everything about music. They were groundbreaking in their inventiveness and in their musicianship and their creativity
And they were inseparable for 10 years because they were the only people that could commiserate with one another.
They literally could not walk outside without 20,000 people surrounding them. Hotels cafés airports
Every single day for 10 years
And just got to jon and he met Yoko Ono.
And he decided that he wanted to have another kind of life rather than being one of the Beatles
And that’s how they disbanded
recommend the movie "The USA vs John Lennon" and also "Imagine".
John first wife Cynthia is the mother of his son Julian, his widow Yoko Ono is Sean’s mom.
This is a John Lennon song, not a Beatles song so there’s that. This is a song about his son with his second wife Yoko Ono. He left his first wife and son for her. Paul McCartney wrote “Hey Jude” for Julian Lennon, his first son, when his dad left.
Explore and listen to The Beatles in your private time.. well worth it
I have another bit of information for you this was his second son he was married to somebody else in the 1960s and his son Julian was born and he looks identical almost to his father he had a number one hit in the 1980s and I think it's called it's much too late for goodbyes and he really does look like his father in that one he's only in his 20s when he sang that song and I couldn't believe how he also sounds like his father when he sings that song he was multitasking because he plays the harmonica and then his guitar right after that so he has musical Talent like his father did.
When the Beatles broke up all of them were still in their 20's
John Lennon was gunned down back a crazed fan in front of his and Yoko’s apartment building in New York on December 8, 1980
