Informative video, however i have some questions. 1. Does it affect the pressure of water coming from the taps? 2. Does it reduce the soap scum that is usually there on the floor after taking bath in hard water? 3. Do you notice a difference in the quality of hair and skin after using the soft water from this product?
1. It did not affect water pressure for us. 2. Yes. White spots on the floor has significantly reduced/eliminated 3. Definite improvement. Difference in Texture of hair after a shower is very noticeable
Thanks for the video. In my home TDS is 1300. Planning to buy one softener and connect it to RO and Dishwasher. Will the water output pressure be sufficient ?
You calculated the hardness of water as 250 after the softening process, Isn't the ppm too high to call it soft? Google tells me that water above 100-150 ppm is considered hard.
It is lesser than 250.. The water needs to be let out during regeneration for 2 to 3 minutes. I did not do so diligently whilst shooting this video. My recent test gave me a value of less than 100. Its been 1.5 years since we've bought this and I've noticed that the frequency of regeneration has increased. I now have to do this process twice a week. But note that the water in my apartment is atrociously hard at 1200ppm.
Thank you so much for making this video. You mentioned we need to regenerate the water in 10-15 days depending on usage of water. Could you please explain it a bit? Is there any limit for water softening? I was told by kent representative that we need to put salt every 18 days and there is no limitation in usage of water.
There is no limit for water softening. You can do it as frequently as needed. The Kent representative advised us that once in 2 weeks regeneration is sufficient, but my practical experience doesn't stand true to that. I have 2 if these at home and I regenerate weekly and I'm happy with the water quality. When I used to do the same one in 2 weeks, the water quality used to go back to being hard after 8 to 9 days. Again, it does depend on the actual quantity of water that is used.
Apart from salt, I saw you adding a specific liquid in the water softener. Please mention and inform what was it, its application and where can it be found. Please do answer this.
@@PaiTech Apart from salt and water, I am asking about the solution from little light pink bottle that you are adding on 5:04 minute of time in the video.
What do you do for laundry? I notice you have a dishwasher but no washing machine. How well would this unit work with a top loader? about 120 litres are needed in two hours.
@@PaiTech i'm interested to know how you managed laundry before you got the automatic softener. It means you were washing in hard water. Did your laundry turn out stiff? Clothes don't look good when washed in 700 ppm water.
We recently moved to Chennai and water here very very salty. Does this water softener work in reducing salt in bathroom water? I'm very much worried about my kids skin and hair now
I have installed this softnet recently, its good but onnly 1tging next day of regeneration water gives same texture like preveious . Aftr that i guess it comes soft but next day of regenerate it comes same hard
250 is still hard water and not good. The video was a little rushed and hence that result. After regeneration the water should be let out for 2 to 3 minutes. The device is capable of delivering a ppm of less than 25 which is very good
Can either use normal crystal salt or water softener salt. I have used both and don’t see much difference in water quality. So you can use normal crystal salt as it is significantly cheaper and available in local stores.
The limit of the test kit in this video is 500 ppm (max). 3:15 You went beyond that. I don't know how reliable these results are. For those interested, there is a kit that goes up to 1000 ppm in steps of 50 which will be more accurate if your ppm is over 500 pm. We can see the error in the results. The max this softener can reduce ppm by is 500. So if the result was 250 ppm then real hardness most likely was 750 not 700
The results won't differ. The number of drops needed to measure the hardness beyond 500 will be more with this kit. Post regeneration the hardness reduces and hence I purchased this kit as it can give me required testing results. Hope that clarifies
@@PaiTech then they could have increased the limit and not made a seperate kit that goes to 1000. Also, 1000 ppm one uses steps of 50 and there is no 5-100 like yours has. I'm wondering whether the 450 is because the resin might have degenerated a bit. That will happen with time. How old was the softener when you did the test? If it was only a few months old then the test is inaccurate. Much older than it's not.
@@johndoe-vc1we Precisely. That’s why I went for this kit as I wanted to test in steps of 5. The softener was about 6 to 7 months old if I remember correctly. It’s been a while since I uploaded this video 😅 But yeah, the resin does degrade and I had to replace the same after 1 year. I’ve upgraded the model since then to an automatic and the company claims this one doesn’t need the resin to be changed at all. So fingers crossed!
@@PaiTech could you share which model you are using currently. If it has iron and manganese filters then you could see life reaching many years and beyond. If they say does not need to be changed then check the warranty. I bet it's exactly as long as the warranty is.
Have you only connected your geyser to this? Or entire bathroom? My bathroom inlet pipe also supplies to the flush tank. Considering that, how frequently do u think this needs to be done for 2 folks using the bathroom!
I've connected to the entire bathroom. 2 of us use it. The water seems to get hard after about 7 days. I recommend regeneration every week for sustained soft water
We have a separate wtp line too. So it's not connected to the flush. You might have to regenerate once in 5 days or so. I won't be able to replicate the scenario to give you an accurate answer
There is no change in the water pressure post installation. If you're referring to the water pressure in this video, I ran it slow to collect just 10 ml of water to perform the test and did not want to waste water
At 7:58 you are wrong. After regeneration you should be taking 25 ml water and use TH 3 instead you used TH5 again. My cout: Before regeneration 20 drops of TH5 * 25 = 500 ppm After regeneration 12 drops of TH3 * 2 = 24 ppm
@@parveshvu1736 the test can be performed using TH3 or TH5 based on water hardness level. So it's not really wrong. The end value may differ by a small margin. But the gist of the video is pretty clear, which is reduction of water hardness
Yes. If the same waterline is connected to your geyser and washing machine. Please keep in mind that you may have to frequently perform regeneration and washing machine consumes lot of water.
TDS is measured for drinking water. For normal water the medium of measure is not TDS. You have to measure the total hardness, which can be measured using the Aquasol test kit as shown in the video. For drinking water KENT or other RO filter needs to be used
