- Testing the Kent Bathroom auto softener and measuring water hardness. We have used this for 1+ year now. In this video I will test the water quality before and after using this softener using a water testing kit.
Thanks for the explanation how do i know adapter is working fine... if power is off water flow will stop? Or regenration will not work
For 2000 TDS water , how frequently salt will have to be replaced? And, what is the frequency to change resin (which is costly )for this softener?
Do we have to set regeneration like the time etc pls tell as the executive who came didn’t explained this part
I would not use edible salt or rock salt (contains a lot of calcium sulphate). Both these salts will clog up the resin over time and reduce the effectiveness of the softener. Stick to pellets that are rated at ninety nine point five pure. The price will be more but then the resin will last longer. As you've noticed there isn't a difference when testing initially but over a period of time the purer the salt the longer the life of the resin
Thank you for this.
If the water has a little sand in it from time to time, will it damage this softener? Or will it be able to handle it
Would you like to give suggestion to me, which one I should buy Kent water softner 5.5 ltr manual or 8 ltr automatic water softner ? cost difference is in both around 14k
Fantastic video
Quick question - does it make any noise during regular operation and/or regeneration?
No
Hi. Did u do any comparison with Eureka water softener before planning to buy Kent ? Or any other brand.
Kent sales people say it wastes only 5l of water during Regeneration. But is is definitely over 5 buckets of 20 l each after consuming 20 bucket of softened water.
So it's min 25% wastage of water
Hi quick question..
If 2 ppl are using 1 bathroom, what should the approxx regeneration cycle be? Cause right now all 12 are pulled in..and the water is extremely soft n seems soapy at times..please help deciding
Great. One tip when using the TH5 solution is to invert the bottle and let a few drops fall into the sink and then hold it in that inverted state to add drops into the test tube. More manageable this way otherwise as you know invariably two or three more drops slip in. TH5 just seems more slippery than TH2 and dribbles out more easily. A drop to 50 ppm from 750 is significant. Is there a way to target a specific output hardness or is it fixed at 700 ppm reduction like your previous softener was for 500 ppm? Also wanted to know if you notice any variation in your water hardness throughout the year. Any pattern or is it more or less constant. My water supply gets softer during the monsoons and harder in the dry season. That is for river water.
Thanks for the tip! I didn't understand what you mean by target specific output hardness.
Our apartment has a water softener. So once a week the water does get better. But it barely lasts and that's why I went with a softener coz as you can see the hardness is off the charts.
@@PaiTech I mean you measured output hardness at around 50 or below. That is a drop of 700 ppm from 750.
By target, I mean can you program the softener to give you a specific hardness. Say you want 200 ppm. I was thinking you could extend your use period before having to regenerate. Presently it reduces from 750 to around 50 ppm. If it could be made to soften to 200 ppm instead of 50 maybe you would get five days before having to regenerate instead of the present 3 days it is set for.
I bathe and do laundry just fine in my current 175 ppm water
@@johndoe-vc1we No way to program the softener to give a specific hardness.
What floor is this water softener installed ??? And where is the main water tank
Please help me I am planning for one at my apartment
I have got this installed in 3rd floor.
It gives soft water for only one day when it undergoes the regeneration.
The next day it again gives hard water until another regeneration happens
My house has a TDS of 450.
And also one more thing to consider is it needs lot of salt as it wastes more than it uses for the regeneration.
I am using 20 kg salt for one and half month.
We are a family of 3.
Which type of salt we should use, some said that we should not use powder salt??
How much time will take to fill 1000 L tank with 8L kent softener?
I don't know that sir. It is based on your water pressure. I see no change in water pressure post installation of this device.
My home raw water hardness is 1000 after using this softener water hardness is 425😢I am very upset what should I do
aare bhai you are very vague. Please be clear in whatever you are saying.
is salt added with water? or just plain salt will work
And please teach me the process as i am still new to this i have recently purchased
kitna salt dalna hai bhai??? please tell me
Does it's parts gets damaged in 3 to 5 months,
And it is costing 10k-15k in every 3 to 5 months for replacement of parts and maintenance
What about after sale service??
If any one using it plz reply
Hello, How much does it cost to install this and can this be installed close to roof like Geyser in the bathrooms ?
Around 25k plus plumbing charges. Yes it can be installed close to the roof as it comes with a stand that can be drilled into the wall/tiles
How much litres of soft water in 1 regeneration
In my area I can observe hardenss is around 500 PPM which one will be better automatic 8 litre to 5.5 ltr manual and why did you switch to automatic version? Any specific reason?
pls reply
Same question
Sir what is the dimensions of this machine
How much put in salt?
You can fill upto about 10kgs. Refill needed based on the consumption.
1:10 your drain pipe has a kink where it bends at a right angle !! You need to straighten that out as a constricted or blocked drain line will lead to salty-tasting water. Also, the drain line goes higher than the point it is connected to as you have draped it over your shower head. Incidentally, how is the taste of the softened water? Any salty taste or hardly any.
The water tastes fine. No hint of saltiness
👍
while checking soft water we need 25 ml of soft water n not 10 ml as shown in video…
Wipro money goes into break India activities. Opt for other brands...
Do not buy this product, it needs huge water for regeneration.
Good point. It wastes a huge quantity of water and the sales people are full of lies.
They say it wastes only 5l water whereas I see unlimited amount of water being thrown down the drain by this stupid product.
This gentleman says it takes 3-4 hours for Regeneration whereas all the Kent staff says only 15-20 mins between 2-3am.
It wastes at least 30-40% of the water it softens.
Definitely avoidable product with water shortage all around.
I manually switch off water supply to this thing so it stops wasting water.
All kent and hul products are lame. Who needs a hardness of only 25-30...?
Water with hardness below 100 dissolves even plastic. So what is the point of reducing hardness so much that you end up with plastic in your water from the store tank
@@gavin0811 Great Points. Any suggestion on a waster softmer which reduces less water and gives decent softness. Thanks
