He didn't just composed songs for Tarzan. He wrote songs for Brother Bear as well. And as a result I love both films because of the contribution that Phil Collins did for them.
Yes! Same! And when I was a baby baby (like 1st-2nd grade) I didn’t know Phil Collins did anything outside of Disney. Our music teacher was very much in his Greaser era and when he said Phil Collins I’m like “Oh I know him! He’s a singer for Disney!”. He politely corrected a little girl who didn’t know better who came back home fuming at her dad about how he didn’t tell her that Phil Collins was in Genesis 😂
Phil Collins writing the songs for Disney was the best decision they could’ve made. I played “You’ll Be In My Heart” on large headphones and placed them on my stomach so my son would know the song while I was pregnant. I played that song all the time because I’ve always loved it, even as a kid. Now I get to sing it to him and he knows this song as his song 🥹🥰
I love his music for Tarzan. As I got older I listened to more of his music, and have loved his music ever since. I like that you made a video about him. 🥺🖤🖤🖤
amazing! i was also in love how the songs translated in Spanish are also sung by Phil :) Since I grew up watching Tarzan in Spanish :) Also with Brother Bear :)
This is a cool behind the scenes, that you used to only see on dvds. I really like this, and it's cool that you are covering it. It brings back some good memories of watching the extras on the DVD after you already finished the movie, and how they talk about how it was animated and how they composed the music.
"Used to see on DVDs" Man, that hurts. Granted, they still technically do, but it hurts because they don't put them on the DVDs themselves, bit the blue rays and 4K discs only
@@autumbreeze1129 that's the reason why I made the comment. They used to have the behind the scenes on the dvd, and then moved it to Blu-ray or 4K for money reasons. After watching the film, it was sometimes nice just to see how they made the movie, composed the music, and performed those amazing scenes.
The "Genesis" was my father's fav artistic group so I grew up with their music and the incredible artistry of Phil Collins. Him having done one of the best Disney soundtracks ever was just the cherry on top of his brilliant career.
The Fact you mentioned on Learning different languages in his own song and arrangements of that then singing it. ✊Respect. That man is brilliant. Thank You for this video learnt a lot more about Tarzan then I did before. 🍹
Tarzan's two worlds one family song reflects much of Disney movies too since in many there is idea of fitting in or standing out but still being one big family
Tarzan was one of the films in Disney Renaissance that wasn’t a musical. Could you imagine this guy in loincloth breaking into song in the middle of the jungle?
💙This was such a fascinating story of how Phil got involved with Tarzan and how he did a BRILLIANT job as usual! One of, if not THE BEST soundtrack ever!!" Especially "You'll Be in My Heart" is always in my head and heart!🥰👏🥰👏🥰👏 Disney was very smart and lucky to have Phil, as are we!!🥰🥰🥰🙏 Phil's legend lives on!!💙💙💙
You'll Be In My Heart was the first song I learned to sing as a kid, and my singing it as a seven year old wowed even my music teacher, who was a singer unto herself. Today, I can sing almost any Phil Collins song, and I look to him as inspiration. I love the Tarzan soundtrack and have every song on my playlist
What I don’t think most people know, is that Phill also did Brother Bear. In fact, I now find it interesting that I connected with Phill Collins through Brother Bear FIRST.
You'll Be In My Heart is such a soul wrenching song. Tarzan is pretty underrated and, along with Land Before Time, one of the more gentle and nurturing of the animated movies. Just mom's and sons in general reminiscent of Bambi and Dumbo really strike a (wait for it) chord!
I've always respected Phil Collins as an artist. Grew up with him. When it comes to old school animation AND great soundtracks, I feel that Brother Bear and Tarzan are severely underrated. Thanks for the dive back into this OST, it was a little hard to get through the video as my recently passed mother was a HUGE fan of Phil Collins, Genesis and all of the stuff he does on the side. 🌈
I have both Tarzan 1st and 2nd movies real tear jerker picture this your mom just gave birth to you and look at her thanking the you'll be my heart when Phil Collins sings for I'm so small you seem so strong any mother would cry
I remember when watching some reviews of the movie, they really hated the soundtrack which I don't know why as I did enjoy it. That was when I got a vinyl single of Take Me Home and then the album "No Jacket Required" which got me hooked into Collins more.
Huh, I've watched Hook hundreds of times, it's my favorite movie of all time, and I would have never guessed the police detective we see for two minutes is Phil Collins.
I love the Tarzan soundtrack. The film needs more attention. I get why Mulan, released the year prior, has experienced a boom in popularity but Tarzan should as well. It was a pretty big hit when it came out but Disney seems to ignore it.
He didn't just composed songs for Tarzan. He wrote songs for Brother Bear as well. And as a result I love both films because of the contribution that Phil Collins did for them.
And he even voiced the Polar Bears in the Balto movies
Same here!!

I was too young to see or grasp Tarzan when it first came out so my introduction to Collins was Brother Bear

That's so cute. Hope your baby is happy, healthy and enjoying the Tarzan soundtrack.
I honestly don't care why Phil Collins did Tarzan, i'm just glad that he did his performances of the songs in that movie are absolutely legendary!!!

Goat
Phil is a legend as is Tarzan…love both the movie and the man behind the music!
I'm glad Phil Collins wrote the songs for Tarzan! Their so moving and beautiful!
Phil Collins is an amazing singer Tarzan was my childhood and I don't think it would as good without Phil Collins
I love his music for Tarzan. As I got older I listened to more of his music, and have loved his music ever since. I like that you made a video about him. 🥺🖤🖤🖤
I still listen to the Tarzan album to this day ,Phil Collins is a legend!💚

Thanks to Tarzan, I discovered Phil Collins, and it was the best discovery I ever made!

I love phill Collins and the Tarzan soundtrack. He also did brother bear and those songs are good too.
You'll be in my heart was my favorite song by him 🙂
Tarzan's two worlds one family song reflects much of Disney movies too since in many there is idea of fitting in or standing out but still being one big family
Love the Tarzan soundtrack, one of the best.
You'll be in my heart just reminds me of my dad. My dad passed on so yea, love it
Phil Collins made the last film of the DIsney Reniassance memorable! And he especially did a good job with the songs from Brother Bear as well.
He also sang for Brother Bear.
I know that ☝️
Though I been saying this time and time again, Tarzan is my number 1 favorite film of the Disney Renaissance and number 1 favorite of all time.
Tarzan was one of the films in Disney Renaissance that wasn’t a musical. Could you imagine this guy in loincloth breaking into song in the middle of the jungle?
Loved his music for Brother Bear as well. Wish he had done a third Disney Animated film for a Phil Collins trilogy!
I remember watching the making of shorts and him making Trashing the camp with Nsnync

Loved his songs that her performed in Tarzan. Along with his other performances in other works.
Son of man is my jam !
I had no idea he had an acting career - one that started so young.
Well thanks to his great music, the South Park crew would poke fun at him for all eternity for beating them out at the Oscars!
Lalapaloolooza!😂
A true legend!!!!
one of my all time favorite singer, and his work was amazing in Tarzan 🥲
Aw, it's cute that you're brother loves the Tarzan movie.
so glad he did Tarzan
What I don’t think most people know, is that Phill also did Brother Bear. In fact, I now find it interesting that I connected with Phill Collins through Brother Bear FIRST.
Now do "why did Phil Collins do Brother Bear" 😀
The former Tarzan Rocks show at Animal Kingdom was so cool. Love hearing the current floatilla drummers play Trashin the Camp

Love that you highlighted behind the music

So glad you made this video !!!
THIS IS WHY WE LOVE YOU PHIL COLLINS!!!!!!
And he is why I love Tarzan and brother bear so much
The guy is a legend
I love the music is Tarzan!
Because Tarzan is set in a jungle, and he's music has an extremely tropical tribal vibe to it? Case closed!
Coincidentally, _Toy Story 2_ and _Tarzan_ both came out in 1999.
I love this movie, it came out the year I was born!!!
Answer to the question/title: Because he felt like it. 😁
Love this!!
Tarzan was my very first exposure to Phil collins’ music. ❤ 🎶
You'll be in My Heart by Phil Collins is my favourite.
You could do another Kung Fu Panda video about what would happen if Tigress turned evil.🐯
Huh, I've watched Hook hundreds of times, it's my favorite movie of all time, and I would have never guessed the police detective we see for two minutes is Phil Collins.

Do this for httyd how all dragon species and populations returned to the hidden world and lived under toothlesses rule
Awesome history for me to enjoy.
This is so interesting. I had no idea.
I'm glad I could make it!
@@IsaacCarlson Thank you so much for making this. I love your videos. I am a Disney kid myself (even though I'm an adult)
Phil Collins is one of my mom's favorite aspects of Tarzan.
He also sing for brother Bear
I know ☝️
I love this movie
Good video. After seeing all the jokes about him and his songs, It's a change to see someone who enjoys his animated film work.
I read this as Phil Coulson for a second
Great video
Isaac Carlson can you do a video on Odalia Blight from The Owl House.
7:07 - oh how the guys at South Park didn't like Phil Collins getting the Oscar...
I didn't know that Phil Collins was in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!
1:23 You got a brother.
Hi Isaac I wanna know if Tai Lung fought Shen in the spirit realm. And how the 5 got along with Po so fast!
What if Marcy NEVER Discovered the Miracle Box?
Still the best Disney songs ever written.
In the film Tarzan the reason why Tarzan was raised by gorillas is because his parents were killed by Sabor a female leopard
I love balto
Take a look through my eyes !
I like trazan I watching trazan right now
me too 😊 l like it
Because the Gods of Music demanded to bathed in absolute Fire
Can I see the backstory of Clayton?
Because the people at Disney didn’t want Tarzan to sing a song. Which would be extra ridiculous.
🤩💞
Phil collins is the truth ✔️🎓
I WANNA KNOW CAN U SHOWWW ME
Hmm I always thought they just wanted to capitalize on Elton Johns success with lion king but I guess not
Hi
Hello
You have a bother 😮I did not know that
Wow idk this information thx
Goat
Phil Collins is too underrated as both a singer and a music artist.
Blame Canada should have won
Ssssss
I won't lie; I wasn't a fan of Tarzan, despite being a musical. It's likely because the characters themselves didn't sing.
He's also among the many people who've been to Epstein Island.
They offered him something he couldn't refuse...money.
Because he wanted to win an Oscar. LOL.
The Lion King is a terrible ripoff though.
