Hi Hans, I really like the fact that you take pride in your photography! Pictures of the stream and flowers, even the broken clay piece.... reminds me to appreciate nature while I hunt. The nice part is that the reason you went there is the same reason people have been going there for centuries!! GL & HH. Bill
Billy Bob hello bill :) thank you for watching and for your kind words! i'm very happy to hear that you appreciate my little nature and scenery shots. . .they are very importand for me as nature is a very importand facet of the hobby in my opinion :) all the best to you and good luck and HH on your next tour! hans
Once again a wonderful video. Such beautiful countryside, the stream is so peaceful and lovely. Thank you for sharing your metal detecting adventures. Tschuss!!
The hot day drove you to go to a cool place where you found a "hot" spot! Wonderful finds. Looks like a cuff link to me. Congrats on a wonderful and comfortable hunt on a hot summer day!
Clad Queen hello clad queen :) nicely said! it's strange sometimes. .if the weather had not been that hot i would probably never come up with the idea to detect the stream. . .it's a cufflink as many confirmed. . i've never seen one like that before! good idea but the water is far to shallow for a swimming hole. . . thank you for watching and commenting :) all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hi Hans. What a Great video and such a lot of awesome finds there mate.! Superb again. Thanks for your time and trouble to show us all. All the best. GL & HH. Neil.

Skvělé video, velmi se mi líbí videa z podobného typu prostředí, hledání u starých potoků a mělkých brodů, má to své kouzlo, půvab i tajemství.
I'm happy to hear that my friend. I want to go back there some day but it only makes sense if the water level is as low as it was on that extreme summer day. thank you for staying tuned on my channel :)
Wow! What a great hunt! The stream has never been hunted and you found a wide selection of treasures. The small wire figure with a base looks like a game piece, the gold plated cuff link was a great find. The 1800s coin spill was a thrill and the dagger piece and musket stock very interesting- what history the stream holds- look forward to future hunts there. Thanks, Fred
***** hello fred :) thank you! i'm happy to hear you liked the hunt! the stream is virgin land indeed! no one ever detected it and there is still so much left to examine :) the small figure is a fob matrix as many viewers told me. . i didn't recognize it to be a seal! very interesting find! thank you for watching and for your kind comment! i will go back to the stream. . .definitely :) all the best, hans
david hopper hello dave :) thank you for watching, liking and for your kind words!!! you bet i'm still buzzing :D wasn't expecting this amazing outcome! GL&HH my friend! all the best, hans
Hi Hans, Super Video again and lovely finds.. at 15:39 i believe is also a part of a cuff ling were at the small end the bar is broken off .. at 6:16 looks like a handle of a decorative pot or from a drawer .. Well HH & GL Best Regards Gerd
Gerd Miesbauer hello gerd :) thank you! i'm happy to hear that you like the video and finds! you are right about 15:39 it's also a cuff link. . .also your guess about the ring could be true. . .it's definitely not old though. . . thank you for watching and commenting gerd :) all the best, GL&HH! hans
I lived in Germany with the British Army for nearly 20 years left in 1990.The last two years my friends and I detected battle field sites Kleeve area.German Machine guns and other military items were found. Hans What a great video! How exciting finding all those old coins. My favorite was I believe yours as well-the gilded cuff link. Loved the shape and decorative markings on it. As I watch your new video's, I am getting caught up on your older ones too. Thanks for the adventurous videos!! ~Dolly
Jack Sellers hello jack, we surly have great places to detect here in germany but the laws are very strict and it's a bit of work to get permission. thank you for watching and commenting!! all the best, hans
I actually have think this many times when I seen metal detecting from the US. but never typed about it before. In the US. It's a stone house from the pre- civil war period. I'm from Denmark, and we and eksample Germany find very old stuff 2000 years old stuff eksample?.
Hi, Hans,I like your on-going enthusiasm regarding the stuff you dig - its refreshing that you get pleasure from them. Your fine attitude encourages others to become involved in our wonderful pastime. Well done and good luck! Bob.
+Bob hello bob! thank you for your kind words about me an my videos! metal detecting is my passion and I'm happy to hear that I'm able to convey this through my videos! thank you for watching and all the best, hans
Hello Hans, I've been watching this video and really enjoying it. I was sent to your videos by Pondguru. I just bought my first detector and am excited about starting to search. Pondguru sent me your way because I mentioned to him I will be moving to Germany in about a year or so. My wife is German and we will be moving to the Heidelberg area where she is from. Thanks for sharing these great videos. I know Germany will have laws and regulations I will need to learn before I start detecting there when I move there. For now I hope to learn my way with my new machine. I'll be watching your videos because I am really enjoying this one where you are finding all these great things in this creek. Its so great that you and Pondguru live in a part of the world with such rich history and such great relics hiding there waitiing to be found.
Greg Franklin hello greg :) welcome on my channel and thank you for the sub! it makes me very happy to hear that you like my video! i'm pretty sure that you will like the heidelberg area. . it's a beautiful place and very, very rich in history! as you already mentioned the metal detecting laws in germany are quite strict. . actually it's prohibited unless you have a permission of the archaeolgical department and of course the land owner. . i know it sounds hard but it is not impossible :) thank you for watching and for your kind words! i appreciate it! all the best and good luck with your new machine! HH! hans
One question. Does a person need permission from the archaeolgical department to metal detect on property that they own? Is the first step getting permission from the archaeological department, then get land owners permission? Do they give you a card or a paper showing you have permission to metal detect? Have you ever been to Heidelberg, and have you done metal detecting in that area?Ok enough questions. It will be at least another year before I will be moving there. I lived in Heidelberg for 4 years but that was a long long time ago. I didn't even think of doing such a thing then I was so young. Thanks for getting back with me. You do a great job on your videos.
Greg Franklin strictly spepeaking yes! the reason for that is that the state has the right to confiscate substancial finds even though they were found on private property. it's the countrys history we are finding and history can never be the property of a single person. it has to be protected for future generations. that doesn' mean that you're not getting rewarded. . only if you find something illegally you will loose the claim of a reward. another reason for these strict laws is that the archaeologist want to be sure that you know what you're doing. very often the find itself isn't the most valuable part of the discovery. . it's the information in the ground and the context of the find. . but this info can be easily destroyed by ripping the find out of the ground willy-nilly. . .so the correct way would be: first meet the archaeologists and then ask the land owner for permission! you will get a licence that will proove your legality :) i've never detected the heidelberg area as my permission is only valid for a region in the frankfurt area. . . thank you for your kind words again :) all the best. hans
Fantastic video, I'm so pleased you found such a hotspot as you sometimes spend hours for not much return. I hope you hit it again soon and dont forget water carrys things quite far, look up and downstream of that area. GL and HH, justin from Staffordshire.
Justin Brown hello justin :) thank you very much for your nice comment and your kind words!!! it makes me happy to hear that you like the video and the finds! thank you also for your helpful tip. . i will check if the coins are downstream too! all the best, GL&HH and greetings to staffordshire, hans
What a super hunt Hans!!!! I think you have found a fob seal, two cuff links and I believe a bull nose ring. Hope you can return to the stream soon. Can't wait to see what you find next time. GL & HH Christy
chrick53 hello christy :) thank you :) glad to hear you like the hunt! yes it is a fob seal and the other find is also a cuff link as you commented . . i want to return to the stream before winter. . .it's an amazing place and it's lots of fun detecting it! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Just subscribed after watching your presentation, awesome Hans, I believe your area has alot of centennial history. Definetly worth keeping a log and marking where specific timeline items are found. That water looks pretty clean as did your finds.I look forward to watching. Thank you…Bill…usa.
Sco/ire America hello bill :) thank you for watching, subscribing and commenting! the area i'm detecting is settlement ground for the past thousands of years. . .even though i wasn't prepared for the finds density in the stream! it was a total surprise! all the best to you! hans

Another great hunt Hans. The ring looks to me like it could of been a buckle, it looks like there is a spot for the needle or pin to rest on. The water can be a productive place to hunt. People have always gone to the streams and rivers. GL & HH
michael glimpse hello michael :) thank you my friend! good guess. . i will check again. . could be a buckle!! i wasn't expecting this amazing outcome when i started detecting the stream. . .if i had known how interesting this stream is i would have given it an earlier go! thank you for watching and for you kind words!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
What a beautiful gold plated cuff link, and many other lovely finds. This video just popped up on my You Tube and it was very enjoyable indeed. Hope to see you out detecting again soon.

Roman Tor hello roman :) thank you my friend! glad to hear you liked the vid! i've never seen a cufflink like that. . thank you for the info! the badge is in a very good condition. . i kept finding them made out of aluminium and they were in a horrible state most of the times. thank you for watching and commenting comrade! all the best,Все самое лучшее GL&HH! hans
Johan de vlieger hello johan :) my camera is waterproof down to 10m but i don't trust this feature. . haha. . i'm worried that it will be kaputt after that :D thank you for watching and commenting :) all the best, GL&HH! hans
Visby87 hello visby87 :) thank you! I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed my vid! detecting the stream was a compromise because of very hot weather. . .now i'm very happy about the heat because it led to the the decision to detect the stream :) thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
YFZMoto hello my friend! thank you for watching and commenting! it's a lovely cufflink. . so filigree and nice worked!. . i've never found a better conditioned wound badge as the one from the stream. . like it has been dropped one week ago! all the best, GL&HH! hans
great video Hans and some great finds think you have a fob seal there try cleaning the bottom of it look forward to your next hunt there HH and best wishes...pat
magicwands1 hello pat :) you are right, it is a fob matrix. . .i gave it another clean and that confirmed it! unfortunately the crest is unrecognizable. . . thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
***** hello barcafana :) thank you! it's great to heat that you like the stream hunt! i will definitely return to the stream and give it another go! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Great video Hans! Looks like you found yourself a hot spot. Thanks for showing the c.scope too. I was always curious as to how the control box looked. Seems to be a good machine. Congrats on all the coins! GL & HH. Look forward to the next video!
Mitch Barron hello mitch :) yes it does :) it's amazing. . never thought this day would be so successful :) the c scope is a good machine. . 17KH and easy to understand! the price of it is amazing too. . thank you for watching, commenting and for your kind words! all the best, GL&HH! hans
I really like the way you show the final "cleaned up" item after you make the find. Your video quit half way through for some reason. What I saw I really liked your presentation.
tiredlawdog hello tiredlawdog :) thank you for your kind words about my video! i'm happy to hear that :) i checkt the video and it stopped too. . all you have to do is to restart the video and to skip to the spot where it stopped. . it should work then! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, hans
Diver Below hello my friend! thank you! i'm very happy about the outcome of the hunt as it was totally unexpected :) i will definitely return there soon!! thank you for watching, commenting and for your kind words!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
very cool finds hans and so many! the cuff link is to die for, the game token is weird but that is what it looks like, and a drawer pull the ring looks like, and omg 24 coins! all 1800's fantastic hunt! :) so funny to see you in wellies!
penguin chick hello penguin chick :) thank you! i love the cuff link too. . it so filigree!! the game token is a fob seal as many viewers confirmed already. . i didn't recognize it too but now it is obvious to me :D 24 coins is amazing. . and there are still signals!!! thank you for watching and commenting!!! you will see me in wellies soon again :D all the best, GL&HH! hans
So pleasant and relaxing to go detecting with you via youTube. Living on the West Coast of Canada it is pretty rare to find any coins older than 100 years. A bit envious!
loved this video :) the filigree gold ball and little sculpture that almost looks like a seal matrix are very very interesting and look very old keep us posted if you find out about them please :) so many beautiful finds best of luck on your next hunt there :)
MichaelSwan66 hello michael :) thank you, happy to hear that!! you might be right with the seal or fob matrix! i just read a comment from "detecting hampshire" and he made me look up "fob matrix" and i was astonished about the similarity!!! im cleaning it again at the moment . . haha! will let you know about the result! thank you for watching and for your kind words!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Steve Bush hello steve, thank you! yes it has to be something like that. . .it's not old, thats for sure! thank you for watching and commenting :) all the best, hans
Nice change to see you doing a water hunt.be it land or water you can do no wrong lol..top finds and over such a small distance too. looks like a fob seal matrix to me as other's have stated. Sublime stuff hans welldone :)
Chris Finds hello chris :) it was great fun to detect the stream for a change :) the outcome still amazes me! you are right, it is a fob matrix. . .didn't recognize it straight away :) thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Another wonderful video, Hans! It always makes my day when I log onto RUclips and see that there is a new video from TerraGermania. As others have mentioned, the object with the blue enamel on it is also a cufflink. I'm sure you will be going back to this stream to find more coins and maybe some silver. Congratulations and best of luck on your future hunts!
Tony Two-Cent hello tony :) thank you for your kind words my friend! so happy you like my videos :) thank you for your definition of the cufflink! i didn't recognize it as one. . .never seen one like that before! i will definitely go back there. . .the only problem is that the stream is overgrown by thorny bushes. . .i have to wait until my wounds healed ;) thank you for watching tony!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
LG, hans
Great finds! I've watched a few of your videos and have subscribed to your channel. I have lived in Germany and wish that I was metal detecting back then! Thanks for sharing. Happy Hunting and good luck. Be well.

Chris Phillips hello chris :) thank you for watching, commenting and for your guess about the ring. . could very well be what you've said!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hi Hans, just watched your very interesting video,I live in Malta where metal detecting is Verboten,it bring tears to my eyes watching you dig coins in fields, where I'm surrounded by fields full of history, but can't dig because it's illegal. Its illegal to shoot protected birds, park on pedestrian crossing, drive a bus smoking a cigarette whilst talking on your mobile phone but they all do it,you just wonder where all the logic is,in the Law.at least I can detect on the beach.and you are right, the C scope is underrated I have owned three over the years,I have just ordered a minelab go find for myself,so I may be posting a video of my own soon.H H Tony
+Tony Treasure hey tony, sorry to hear that the laws are so strict in malta! isn't there any way you can volunteer for the archaeologists?? i would ask them. . the finds in the fields are in danger of getting destroyed by the plow, fertilizers and the normal corrosion . . .that should be an argument! speak to an archaeologist personally, maybe it works! tell me when you uploaded your first vid :) thank you for watching and commenting! all the best, GL&HH! hans
I just started watching your wonderful videos! Your hard work pays off! I am facinated by your detecting and the information you provide on the coins and relics. The filming and music is enchanting. I get tickled when you get excited about a find. Keep them coming!😊 Port St Lucie, Florida, USA
Hi again my friend loved the video you should have got paid by that detector company it was a great advertisement for them love the videos as always hans HH. kind regards James.
I'm happy to hear that you like the video my friend :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment. I'm not a good business man .. haha.. so I did it for free. all the best and good hunting, hans
Super Verwundetenabzeichen!! :-) Material ist Messing. Die schwarzen Vwa´s gab es auch noch aus Eisen. Aluminium wurde in der Herstellung von Verwundetenabzeichen nicht verwendet. Nur noch Zink. Glückwunsch zum Top Fund!
Hans here the last few weeks have been very hot outside of Seattle. We got up to 97 degrees farenheit a few days ago. Enjoy the sunshine and try to stay cool.
RP Detector hello carl :) thank you, happy to hear you liked it! yes it was hard work. . .the stream was also overgrown by thorny bushes i had to fight throu. . .i will definitely return there :) thank you for watching and commenting carl :) all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hot day ??? A very hot day..Hot finds !!What a beautiful hunt Hans.Nice place to have a cooling down.Im sure you will return.maby a pinpointer will help (waterproof)of course.GL&HH Ben.
benwiwi67 hello ben :) i'm glad it was a hot day. . otherwise i wouldn't have given it a go :) i will definitely return there as i have to clear the area from the rest of the coins. . .looking forward :) i agree!!! a pinpointer would really help in this case. . but i won't pay the price for this occasion only. . .thank you for watching and for your kind words my friend! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hello Hans, The nice dark green patina is usually created when there are chages of wet and dry conditions all over again. If the coins are all year in the water, it mostly doesn't happen. If the copper is or is not visible also depends on acidity of the water.
LGM hello LGM! thank you for watching and subscribing :) i'm happy to hear that you liked my video! i hope you will like my other videos too! thank you for your kind words! all the best,GL&HH! hans
Wow Hans! Great hunt mate, interesting artifacts and loads of coins! The best thing is you're able to return and dig the other signals there for more coins. Look forward to your next hunt, all the best mate and HH Charlie
crabstick333 hello charlie :) thank you :) i'm happy to hear that you like the finds! yes, that's cool. . .i know that i will find even more coins when i return there :) thank you for watching and for your kind words!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
travelinalaskan hello friend! thank you for watching and for your kind words! i agree with you. . especially when you don't expect a site to be productive :) happy christmas! hans
I appreciate the proficiency at which you swing your detector. The beautiful flowers in the cameras eye. The sounds of nature. You do the best presentation out of all the you tuber metal detectorists. Ive seen them all and thats my opinion. Aber ich erwarte nicht Wenger von einem Deutsche kollegen
What can I say that hasn't already been said, Hans? What a fun and interesting day! Like the others I cannot wait to see your follow-up visits to the stream. May I suggest you obtain some sort of submersible "looking glass" type thing to make your underwater searches easier? The stream doesn't look deep enough to use a mask and snorkel (you should see Nuggetnoggin's videos for some great river & stream hunting), but some sort of handheld device might be better... or clumsy and in the way, what do I know? *G* Nice new toothbrush, by the way *L* Best of luck! Al
***** hello al :) thank you my friend! it's great to hear that you enjoyed my vid and the finds! i will go back there soon! i didn't expect that you all would like this video that much. . .good idea!! a pipe with a glass at one end would do the job!! thank you . .maybe i can improvise something like that! haha. . yes it's my back up brush. . i have to use it as my main one now as my old one snapped yesterday. . . thank you for watching and for your kind words al!!! best wishes, GL&HH! hans
+Worldwide Metal Detecting thank you for watching and for your kind comment. unfortunately one can't detect here in germany without necessary permissions. . otherwise it's illegal. all the best, hans
Yo Donald ... I took your advice about getting a C-scope ....They don't seem to be used a lot here in the states . I found a CS4pi.... its awesome ..... The only thing I'm lacking are the awesome historic places that you have to search.....No Roman goodies in the Chicago area . Keep up the fine work and continued good luck !
Very nice video and finds Hans! Lots of coins in that place. Please go back and get more! I'm surprised all the coins are copper. I wonder why no silver coins? Perhaps the people tossed coins in the creek for good fortune but did not want to use a silver coin just a small pfennig. Best wishes and HH my friend, Dave.
Daddydigger1 hello dave :) thank you. . makes me happy to hear you like the video and finds :) i will go back ther soon. . .haha. . i can't wait to go back there too! it's just a bit overgrown by thorny plants at the moment. . .i don't know why these coins are there. . no traces of a bridge or anything. . it's a mystery! and no silver as you said. . .until now ;) thank you for watching and for your kind words!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Very nice hunt, Hans. Love watching this and you found some great stuff in a style of hunting which is unfamiliar to 99% of detectorists. Groovy. GL&HH
Pondguru hello richard :) thank you! i'm happy to hear you like the hunt! it was quite exhausting to dig in the water as i'm not used to it and because of a missing pinpointer . .but it definitely paid off :) i will return there first to clear the area :) thank you for watching, commenting and supporting!!!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Nice river hunt! Tried my first one this summer too in Japan - didnt find anything near as nice as what you have - esp those cufflinks and WW2 badge! Good job! Enjoy your videos and it really shows through that you really do have the "detecting bug"! Looking forward to your next video. Best regards from Japan.
TalshiarJapan hello :) thank you!! makes me happy to hear you liked the hunt and finds :) i'm absolutely surprised about the outcome of the hunt! didn't expect something like that! from now on streams are on my list :) haha. . i definitely have the detecting bug :) thank you for watching and for your kind words!!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Very nice vids sir i'm so happy i found your channel. You're a very patient person with eye for detail. beautiful surroundings and really good camera work as well. please keep this up. I only find rubbish all the time, but still it's so exciting. (: greetings from Holland.
frank ter voort hello frank :) welcome on my channel! i'm happy you found me too! i'm happy to hear that you like my videos and the way i make them! i keep my fingers crossed for you to find treasure :) thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Great Hunt, love those old coins. I think I can explain the lack of oxidation on your copper coins. When buried in soil copper oxidizes faster because of oxygen in the soil, minerals and chemicals that speed the oxidation process. In fresh water, and especially if buried in a stream bed, oxygen is prevented from interacting with the copper which either retards the oxidation process or prevents it altogether.
Dem0D1ck hello :) thank you, i'm happy to hear that you like my hunt and the coins! also thank you for watching and for explaining the lack of oxidation. . very interesting and i can imagine that it is exactly the reason why they look so different compared to the ones i keep finding in the earth! all the best, hans
Very nice video Hans, I love detecting in streams. But just done it 2 times, and that's how the copper comes up, that was a really nice coin spill All the best /Per
The Swede hello per :) thank you my friend, glad to hear that :). . i tried streams before but never with an outcome like this. . .otherwise i would have done more often!! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Very nice hunt!!! Great scenery and lots of interesting finds. Congrats on the cufflink, I wonder what the age for it would be. This was a great video, cant wait to see you detect the rest of the stream. Hope all is well and as always...GL/HH
Sir Digs-A-Lot hello james :) thank you! happy to hear that! i think the cuff link is not very old. . maybe 1800s. . but it is so beautiful and filigree! i will definitely return to the stream soon! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Detecting Hampshire. wow! thank you for opening my eyes friend!!! it really resembles a fob matrix. . i'm cleaning it again at the moment :D i will let you know about the result! thank you for watching and for your helpful comment!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Thrills In The Dig thank you :) the coins are really beautiful and there are even more still in this stream. . i'm waiting for lower water levels to pull them out! thank you for watching!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hans when copper is in rivers such as copper rocks, they tend to turn a green patina over time what we call oxidation. Some people like to use copper for the gutters on the house so after many years they turn a green patina. We have a lot of copper in the river on Mount Rainier where miners used to mine copper.
I enjoyed watching this video, I have 1970's furniture that has drawer rings very like the rings you found Hans, so I wonder if the rings was used for something like that. The ages of the finds certainly takes you through the centuries and there are some lovely items there. Take care Hans, good luck and happy hunting 🙋👍
hello mary- ellen, thank you, I'm happy to hear that! your furniture ring theory Is most likely the explanation of the ring! thank you for sharing your thoughts about this find :) thank you for watching and for your kind comment! all the best, hans
Hi it's ant again nice finds at the stream as for small coins people are stupid they see a pond or stream and there compelled to chuck money in and make a wish ha ! Were so dumb glad you took my advice and got a longer shovel ha ha I saw it in another vid of yours . Hey I'm gonna get an garret at pro and get down to our local river bank try that then get in the water but it will have to be spring as it's snowing and freezing here today , when we can't get out we watch other detectorists finds thru year , just gona put another log on the fire ! Ant from Wales UK
anthony preston hello again :) hahah. . .at least they made me lucky and happy with their coins ;) the new spade is wonderful . . but i need to improve my pinpointing abilities as i nicked 2 finds already because of the narrow blade. yes that's great about youtube. . no matter how the weather is you can still get some virtual metal detecting excitement :) thank you for watching ant! GL&HH! hans
Hello Hans, again a nice video of you, I am always happy when I see you have a new place here. Also beautiful finds again, especially that WW2 batch I find it beautiful. Today I am also look for a couple of hours and have a beautiful Belgian coin found, the date I do not know I need to get him clean. How do you clean coins? Hope you quickly insert a new movie.
Harrie D hey harrie :) i can reply directly to you!!! what did you do? thank you for your kind words! happy to hear you liked my vid!!! congrats on your coin find!! i think lieven from "Belguy Detecting" would be a good person of contact to define your coin! about cleaning the coins: it depends on the material of the coin. . . thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&H! hans
Donald G Banhart hello donald, thank you, I'm glad you like my video! thank you for watching and commenting! you are right. . detecting this stream begs for a pin pointer. . lol all the best, GL&HH! hans

The hot day drove you to go to a cool place where you found a "hot" spot! Wonderful finds. Looks like a cuff link to me. Congrats on a wonderful and comfortable hunt on a hot summer day!
Clad Queen hello clad queen :)
nicely said! it's strange sometimes. .if the weather had not been that hot i would probably never come up with the idea to detect the stream. . .it's a cufflink as many confirmed. . i've never seen one like that before!
good idea but the water is far to shallow for a swimming hole. . .
thank you for watching and commenting :)

Skvělé video, velmi se mi líbí videa z podobného typu prostředí, hledání u starých potoků a mělkých brodů, má to své kouzlo, půvab i tajemství.
merci beaucoup :)
I really love this site. The sound of the flowing water and the shade from the trees are relaxing. You found some interesting things too.
I'm happy to hear that my friend. I want to go back there some day but it only makes sense if the water level is as low as it was on that extreme summer day. thank you for staying tuned on my channel :)
@@TerraGermaniaTG It's not difficult to stay tuned to your channel. :)
***** hello fred :)
thank you! i'm happy to hear you liked the hunt! the stream is virgin land indeed! no one ever detected it and there is still so much left to examine :) the small figure is a fob matrix as many viewers told me. . i didn't recognize it to be a seal! very interesting find!
thank you for watching and for your kind comment! i will go back to the stream. . .definitely :)

Except for the English ring rubbish. Lol. German joke. Or the wound badge from the Thousand year Reich that lasted from 1933-1945. Lol. English joke.
Hans What a great video! How exciting finding all those old coins. My favorite was I believe yours as well-the gilded cuff link. Loved the shape and decorative markings on it. As I watch your new video's, I am getting caught up on your older ones too. Thanks for the adventurous videos!! ~Dolly

I wish I lived in a place like Germany to detect. America has some good things to find but nothing like the old world.
Jack Sellers hello jack,
we surly have great places to detect here in germany but the laws are very strict and it's a bit of work to get permission. thank you for watching and commenting!!
all the best,
hans
They call it the old world for a reason!... because they left it behind ...permanently!
You should try Australia. No wars and the oldest coin you can be sure is a 1797 Cartwheel penny!
@@michaelthompson342 yes, no real history yet.
Bob.

Greg Franklin hello greg :)
welcome on my channel and thank you for the sub! it makes me very happy to hear that you like my video!
i'm pretty sure that you will like the heidelberg area. . it's a beautiful place and very, very rich in history! as you already mentioned the metal detecting laws in germany are quite strict. . actually it's prohibited unless you have a permission of the archaeolgical department and of course the land owner. . i know it sounds hard but it is not impossible :)
thank you for watching and for your kind words! i appreciate it!
all the best and good luck with your new machine!
HH!
Greg Franklin strictly spepeaking yes! the reason for that is that the state has the right to confiscate substancial finds even though they were found on private property. it's the countrys history we are finding and history can never be the property of a single person. it has to be protected for future generations. that doesn' mean that you're not getting rewarded. . only if you find something illegally you will loose the claim of a reward. another reason for these strict laws is that the archaeologist want to be sure that you know what you're doing. very often the find itself isn't the most valuable part of the discovery. . it's the information in the ground and the context of the find. . but this info can be easily destroyed by ripping the find out of the ground willy-nilly. . .so the correct way would be: first meet the archaeologists and then ask the land owner for permission! you will get a licence that will proove your legality :)
i've never detected the heidelberg area as my permission is only valid for a region in the frankfurt area. . .
thank you for your kind words again :)
all the best.
hans
lovely little stream area you've found to detect with many nice little finds.

Another great hunt Hans. The ring looks to me like it could of been a buckle, it looks like there is a spot for the needle or pin to rest on. The water can be a productive place to hunt. People have always gone to the streams and rivers. GL & HH

+Tony Treasure hey tony,
sorry to hear that the laws are so strict in malta! isn't there any way you can volunteer for the archaeologists?? i would ask them. . the finds in the fields are in danger of getting destroyed by the plow, fertilizers and the normal corrosion . . .that should be an argument! speak to an archaeologist personally, maybe it works!
tell me when you uploaded your first vid :)
thank you for watching and commenting!
all the best, GL&HH!

Hans here the last few weeks have been very hot outside of Seattle. We got up to 97 degrees farenheit a few days ago. Enjoy the sunshine and try to stay cool.
That was a great hunt Hans. That looked like hard work, but very worthwhile. I think you will be back there soon!
Best Wishes Carl

benwiwi67 hello ben :)
i'm glad it was a hot day. . otherwise i wouldn't have given it a go :) i will definitely return there as i have to clear the area from the rest of the coins. . .looking forward :)
i agree!!! a pinpointer would really help in this case. . but i won't pay the price for this occasion only. . .thank you for watching and for your kind words my friend!
all the best, GL&HH! hans
Hello Hans,
The nice dark green patina is usually created when there are chages of wet and dry conditions all over again. If the coins are all year in the water, it mostly doesn't happen. If the copper is or is not visible also depends on acidity of the water.
Jan Buchar hello jan!
thank you for watching and for your interesting comment! very helpful information :)
all the best,
hans

I will subscribe.
travelinalaskan hello friend!
thank you for watching and for your kind words! i agree with you. . especially when you don't expect a site to be productive :)
happy christmas!
hans
I appreciate the proficiency at which you swing your detector. The beautiful flowers in the cameras eye. The sounds of nature. You do the best presentation out of all the you tuber metal detectorists. Ive seen them all and thats my opinion.
Aber ich erwarte nicht Wenger von einem Deutsche kollegen
thank you for watching and for your kind words about my channel! I'm happy to hear that :) all the best and greetings,
hans
What can I say that hasn't already been said, Hans? What a fun and interesting day! Like the others I cannot wait to see your follow-up visits to the stream. May I suggest you obtain some sort of submersible "looking glass" type thing to make your underwater searches easier? The stream doesn't look deep enough to use a mask and snorkel (you should see Nuggetnoggin's videos for some great river & stream hunting), but some sort of handheld device might be better... or clumsy and in the way, what do I know? *G* Nice new toothbrush, by the way *L* Best of luck! Al
***** hello al :)
thank you my friend! it's great to hear that you enjoyed my vid and the finds! i will go back there soon! i didn't expect that you all would like this video that much. . .good idea!! a pipe with a glass at one end would do the job!! thank you . .maybe i can improvise something like that! haha. . yes it's my back up brush. . i have to use it as my main one now as my old one snapped yesterday. . .
thank you for watching and for your kind words al!!!
best wishes, GL&HH! hans
I love the wound badge! I have always wanted to find one!! One day I dream of going to Germany in the search for some. Great video!
+Worldwide Metal Detecting thank you for watching and for your kind comment. unfortunately one can't detect here in germany without necessary permissions. . otherwise it's illegal.
all the best,
hans
Thank you for the information and reply. Keep up the great videos!
my pleasure :)
Good job good luck in your next search. 👍🏻👏🏻✌🏻
Daddydigger1 hello dave :)
thank you. . makes me happy to hear you like the video and finds :) i will go back ther soon. . .haha. . i can't wait to go back there too! it's just a bit overgrown by thorny plants at the moment. . .i don't know why these coins are there. . no traces of a bridge or anything. . it's a mystery! and no silver as you said. . .until now ;)
thank you for watching and for your kind words!!!

Very nice hunt, Hans.
Love watching this and you found some great stuff in a style of hunting which is unfamiliar to 99% of detectorists.
Groovy.
GL&HH
Pondguru hello richard :)
thank you! i'm happy to hear you like the hunt! it was quite exhausting to dig in the water as i'm not used to it and because of a missing pinpointer . .but it definitely paid off :) i will return there first to clear the area :)

Enjoy your videos and it really shows through that you really do have the "detecting bug"! Looking forward to your next video. Best regards from Japan.

Dem0D1ck hello :)
thank you, i'm happy to hear that you like my hunt and the coins!
also thank you for watching and for explaining the lack of oxidation. . very interesting and i can imagine that it is exactly the reason why they look so different compared to the ones i keep finding in the earth!
all the best, hans
Very nice video Hans, I love detecting in streams. But just done it 2 times, and that's how the copper comes up, that was a really nice coin spill
All the best

The Swede hello per :)
thank you my friend, glad to hear that :). . i tried streams before but never with an outcome like this. . .otherwise i would have done more often!!

Very nice hunt!!! Great scenery and lots of interesting finds. Congrats on the cufflink, I wonder what the age for it would be. This was a great video, cant wait to see you detect the rest of the stream. Hope all is well and as always...GL/HH
Sir Digs-A-Lot hello james :)
thank you! happy to hear that! i think the cuff link is not very old. . maybe 1800s. . but it is so beautiful and filigree! i will definitely return to the stream soon! thank you for watching and commenting!!! all the best, GL&HH! hans
Looks like a fob seal you had there mate, some great finds from the stream.
Detecting Hampshire. wow! thank you for opening my eyes friend!!! it really resembles a fob matrix. . i'm cleaning it again at the moment :D i will let you know about the result!
thank you for watching and for your helpful comment!!!

Thrills In The Dig thank you :)

Hans when copper is in rivers such as copper rocks, they tend to turn a green patina over time what we call oxidation. Some people like to use copper for the gutters on the house so after many years they turn a green patina. We have a lot of copper in the river on Mount Rainier where miners used to mine copper.
Enjoyed watching this old video from you. I have a Cscope3mxi and have just got the 4mxi great machines.🙂🐻
My guess for the item at 21:19 is a musket buttplate. Great hunt and super finds.
Kim Jameson hello kim!
that's exactly what it is :) thank you for watching, commenting and for your kind words!
all the best,
hans
Just see your old vdeos hans, some coins.. and i think Copper plate ( its a some old Part from AUSTRIA MUSKET POSTZDAMN 1700's, ) ..great finds..
thank you my friend :)
Hans,
Nice mixture of finds....the musket butt plate is a great find....it's to bad about the wax seal fob doesn't have any details left.
Regards
Bill
william mcduff thank you. . i wasn't expecting the stream to contain so many goodies :)
thank you for watching!
I enjoyed watching this video, I have 1970's furniture that has drawer rings very like the rings you found Hans, so I wonder if the rings was used for something like that. The ages of the finds certainly takes you through the centuries and there are some lovely items there. Take care Hans, good luck and happy hunting 🙋👍
hello mary- ellen,
thank you, I'm happy to hear that! your furniture ring theory Is most likely the explanation of the ring! thank you for sharing your thoughts about this find :)
thank you for watching and for your kind comment!
all the best,
hans
Hi it's ant again nice finds at the stream as for small coins people are stupid they see a pond or stream and there compelled to chuck money in and make a wish ha ! Were so dumb glad you took my advice and got a longer shovel ha ha I saw it in another vid of yours . Hey I'm gonna get an garret at pro and get down to our local river bank try that then get in the water but it will have to be spring as it's snowing and freezing here today , when we can't get out we watch other detectorists finds thru year , just gona put another log on the fire ! Ant from Wales UK
anthony preston hello again :) hahah. . .at least they made me lucky and happy with their coins ;)
the new spade is wonderful . . but i need to improve my pinpointing abilities as i nicked 2 finds already because of the narrow blade.
yes that's great about youtube. . no matter how the weather is you can still get some virtual metal detecting excitement :)
thank you for watching ant!
GL&HH!
Harrie D hey harrie :) i can reply directly to you!!! what did you do?
thank you for your kind words! happy to hear you liked my vid!!! congrats on your coin find!! i think lieven from "Belguy Detecting" would be a good person of contact to define your coin! about cleaning the coins: it depends on the material of the coin. . .
thank you for watching and commenting!!!
all the best, GL&H! hans
Very good video . Hope you can find a water proof pin pointer . Wonderful thing you found .
Donald G Banhart hello donald,
