Hey Kurt , awesome video as always. There seems to be an issue with your Ebay link to access the Hoover boys merch. Is there still merch available or is there just a problem on my end
My 8 year old got a children's metal detector for Christmas. I go out and plant a few coins in the backyard for him to find. He has been watching all your videos. I watched a few with him and this looks like so much fun. I ended up ordering a proper metal detector for myself so we can start digging up history together.
My grandsons got them for Chrismas too. They have a lack of patience. Ishoweed the how to slow down and was along the sidewalk and found a quarter in about 5 feet. Under ground.
Haha Holly! I did the same for my seven yr old Grand-son 2 Christmas's ago. I'd rather have a mtd in his hands than a darn video or cell phone...I'm sure you can relate! Take care and be safe, Mary
I haven’t metal detected in years but I’ve been watching a lot of these videos and it has revived my excitement to start back. So I’m going to blow the dust off my old White’s DXF Spectrum E and hopefully it will still work. The Battle of Stones River was fought here in Murfreesboro and I know Union troops camped less than a quarter mile from my house (in a subdivision) after the battle. So I’m certain they walked on my property at some time when this was a farm. I think I’ll start with my yard. I might even walk down the street and see if neighbors will let me hunt their lots. I’ve seen a lot of videos where you and others are in the middle of huge bare fields and finding lots of relics. How did you research to go to fields? Thanks gentlemen. Really enjoyed this.
I watch several metal detecting stations. I just found yours. This is the stuff dreams are made of! This is the best day I have seen yet! Inspiration. I love old things! What an incredible day of finds!
What an awesome day guys! I couldn't stop smiling, and I wasn't even there, well I was in spirit... Thanks for recording it for us, what a historical rejuvenation of all of those old items, coins and buttons, if only they could talk!
Congrats to all you’re treasure finds. It was so interesting to watch, and love the fact that you add quick little updates between finds that kept me watching to the end.I must say, the dynamics between you guys are hysterical!! One new follower for sure.
I’ve been binge watching ur videos. It’s amazing how in tune you are with your machine. Being able to tell what’s in the ground before you dig it. I can’t believe how much good stuff you guys find. All I find is trash haha. Thanks for the great content!
@Carol Harris These coins were all lost 200+ years ago. Bob 'seeding' the field was just a joke. We don't know what used to be there, but money obviously changed hands. What's odd is there was no silver, at all, but we did get quite a few buttons and other period items. One of the most adrenaline pumping hunts I can remember... Thanks for commenting!
You guys should hit up my area. Played a huge role in the American revolution. 30 miles south of Philly. I have access to William Penns properties and Bassett Ice Cream property. Hancock property all of which are old farms from the 1700's. Xmas eve windstorm took my cousins barn down. It was dated late 1700's.
The Hoover Boys Hopefully they won't go to the local park and start digging it up with a shovel. We lost most are spots do to that. It sucks for us Guys who have true passion and not Johnny come latelys.
I agree! Unbelievable. A coin collectors dream. My first video with you guys. You helped me get schooled on the coins. Way to go. I’m so shocked I don’t even know what to say. Keep it up. God Bless.
A really great day discovering so many historical pieces, perfection personified, onward & upwards to even greater digs. I gotta admit I wish I was part of this particular dig. So cool!
I would say somebody had their money buried in the field back in day then they got killed or they had to abandon the camp real fast like and never came back for the money and over the years the plow busted and spread the money all over the area over the years!
A drawback to that theory is, if you were burying a stash, it would not have been all copper, and the other artifacts that was there is more indicative of a public place.
People used to toss copper coins in gardens to add minerals to the soil. Those coins were probably out of circulation, and worthless at the time they put it in the field.
That was awesome. I grew up with my daddy using a metal detector. He found all sorts of things. This brought back such memories. He’s gone now but he would have loved this video.

Will you guys come over to one of our Uk big 3/4 day detecting events in the future. We would appreciate seeing you here. Great finds
Well u guys have a new friend in SW Florida... Y'all are very entertaining, great mix of personality, skill, history and fun. Its amazing how much you find and U have to assume the ground collected those coins over a vast amount of time. However, I wonder just how and why people would so often drop coins... I understand coins were the main type of currency back then but something as small as a dime was worth fighting for. You would think they wouldn't be so apt to drop money..... U guys are awesome though
Bad tailors. Having coins in your pockets wore out the material faster, and the quality of the cloth isnt as strong as it is today, so lots of holey pockets. This also explains all the thimbles that are found, constantly fixing holes in pockets
Ian Anderson u know I thought about that but honestly that is a bunch of dropped change, over long periods. Im sure there was sacks and purses... Incredible... Thanks for your input

I found an old horseshoe under 18 inches of clay in West Virginia in 2001 using a 12 ton metal detector. It was actually the guy grading my property for my new house who uncovered it. 😄
23:50 ish, when he pops the coin out, in the screen it looked like a 2nd coin with irs copper edge out towards the camera but buried in the plug left of the other coin.
Found two pennies in the community playground. This is my first detector! ALSO: So VERY happy that I could also clear out ANY items that would be harmful to our kids! So you see, it’s not what you FIND but what you don’t find that is the biggest treasure! My 6 year old son and neighborhood kids can play in the sand and we don’t need to worry about something bad.
WOW 🤩 what a fun hobby. I’m curious as to what the landowners get when folks find such relics? Do y’all pay an upfront fee to metal detect someone’s property or do they require viewing one’s find and maybe take several items for themselves? Do you check land records so as to help determine the usage of the property way back in time? I wonder if there’s a senior citizen treasure hunting group as this would be such an interesting adventure to join in on. 🕵️♀️ I’m concerned when y’all start rubbing off the caked on clay or dirt though. I find myself cringing thinking how many unnecessary scratches are being made. Shouldn’t you carry a water squirt bottle or small container with whatever solution might properly clean such? 🤷🏻♀️
I've been watching you boys now for a bit and I'm very impressed with you all . I've been metal detecting for sometime now I use a whites metal detector but I've been looking at your Garretts and I'm very impressed with them I'm considering getting me one because they go under water. God Bless you all .im going to watch you from now on keep digging up that history. Good luck on you nexts find hope it hit you buck list .
I just found my 1st spectacle buckle at a colonial site. I only knew what it was from watching your videos. Thanks for putting these shows out there, I have learned so much from them.
Incredible!! Amazing video. Although I love living on the West Coast, sometimes I wish I could live on the East Coast where stuff like this is found. Great job guys !!
They were put there to add minerals to the soil of a planted field. Very common to find copper coins in old gardens. Chances are they were out of circulation at the time, and considered of very little value, apart from tossing it in your soil.
Just watched this video thank you for sharing . I had so much fun with your treasures . But I was overjoyed with your laughter and fun. God Bless You guys .
Brilliant video guy's. 2 questions. Have you ever thought of using a drone to map an overview at the end of the day of your dig holes to map your finds?. This can give you a great insight into the layout of the settlement you are digging and give you an idea on where to dig next?. Also, if you find a new settlement site, are you obliged to report it to a historical society or government department so it can be added to a central historical record?. Being from the UK, metal detectorists are obliged to log in any significant historical finds with the local museum or historical records dept. I look forward to following your other escapades, best wishes , cal ;-)
Thanks Cal. Great Idea with the drone. I need to get one. I wish we similar laws here. This was on private property. We told the land owner. It’s in his hands
Wow, so excited for you guys!!! Just found ya all and subbed. So I was waiting for someone to say “This coin was from the such and such mint, in the rear office on a Thursday right before a shift change. It was raining at the time. The mint guy was left-handed and had a cold.
Your locations are amazing! The south lacks colonial anything and in alabama all the civil war sites are few and far between! Im super jealous! Congrats on all the finds and without a doubt you guys have the best metal detecting channel on yt currently. Ill be featuring you on my channel.
The Hoover Boys war was fought there, or an encampment. I would look for walls or possibly foxhole patterns. I feel it was the place of battle, and fallen troops left their mark with the coins fallen from their pockets
I've been watching your videos for the past day or so and very much enjoying watching them I like how you guys have a friendship and how you get together to do metal detecting.
That was amazing I couldn't wait to see what y'all dug up next keep up the hunt Merry Christmas
That is an awesome video. I’ve found 1 copper and it was toasted. Def on my bucket list. Keep up the great videos.GL and HH.
Thanks! This was a crazy day. Best of luck!
Subscribed instantly, this dude knows what hes talking about.

Awesome finds! Ordered my first detector and this vid is getting me stoked to get out there. And, let's go O's !
Good luck Tim!
I grew up in MD. Hadn't heard ' good googa mooga' since I was a kid!
Lolol! Nice haul y'all
Amazing to say the least, Bill pulled out some nice coins today!
I’m concerned when y’all start rubbing off the caked on clay or dirt though. I find myself cringing thinking how many unnecessary scratches are being made. Shouldn’t you carry a water squirt bottle or small container with whatever solution might properly clean such? 🤷🏻♀️
I enjoyed your video, really liked that you show examples of coins not dug for reference.
Thank you for the support Denise
very exciting, thanks for letting me enjoy your finds..ken

Looks like a fun time.
The enthusiasm is great! Total guy’s day! Great job!
Someone probably burried a jar of coins in that field and over the years of plowing and discing the field they got spread out over that larger area.
Certainly a possibility. Thanks Todd
Exactly my comment. Gotta be something like that or someone running ffrom the law dropped it thete
This is the most insane detectorist video I have ever seen. So much good stuff!
Thanks Joseph!
@@thehooverboys I'm still watching it! It keeps getting better!
Out Freaking standing! That field wasn't hot, it was molten! Congrats boys!

I just found my 1st spectacle buckle at a colonial site. I only knew what it was from watching your videos. Thanks for putting these shows out there, I have learned so much from them.
@@tiffanywelch-e6v Awesome! Congratulations! Thank you for the support
Liberty Caps are something quite different in the UK, but if they are found people are equally as overjoyed
Incredible!! Amazing video. Although I love living on the West Coast, sometimes I wish I could live on the East Coast where stuff like this is found. Great job guys !!
Thank you for the support
I bet someone buried some coins ,never dug them up and the farm plows spread them out over the years.
Certainly not out of the question
That makes the most sense.
They were put there to add minerals to the soil of a planted field. Very common to find copper coins in old gardens. Chances are they were out of circulation at the time, and considered of very little value, apart from tossing it in your soil.
If there was fair size town nearby the streets may have been swept of horse manure and then dumped on the field to fertilize it.
What's with the holes in the coins?
Just watched this video thank you for sharing . I had so much fun with your treasures . But I was overjoyed with your laughter and fun. God Bless You guys .
Thank you for the kind words and support. This is our happy place. All the best
Congrats guys...good weather, moving a lot and finding a lot of coins..
Maybe next time you will find more precios coins ore jewelry...👍👍👍👍♥️🍀
Speechless!
Is it safe to say where is this field located lol.
Where y'all from cause it looks like my home town
Wow, so excited for you guys!!! Just found ya all and subbed. There's nothing more fun than finding treasures and when you have a day like you guys are having this day is extra exciting...It's not even about the worth (although that helps :), it's all about the find!!!!!! Take care and be safe, Mary
I hope you guys kept going back to see what else would unfold.
What a great day. It's was Incredible and fun to watch it all. I love surprises.
"You never know what your going to get"
I wish I could find such a place.
You guys are Very Fortunate !!!
Well done guys that’s the kind of dig you want 👍🏻 and the good thing is after the plough has been over it you have more fun to look forward too
GL&HH
Alex 👍🏻
Thanks Alex! Unfortunately they don’t plow
That’s a pity
GL&HH guys
Alex👍🏻
So I was waiting for someone to say “This coin was from the such and such mint, in the rear office on a Thursday right before a shift change. It was raining at the time. The mint guy was left-handed and had a cold.
Hahaha! Too funny
Is that idea from the commercial..."picked by a man with one leg?"
It was a wine or Pepsi commercial.
Your locations are amazing! The south lacks colonial anything and in alabama all the civil war sites are few and far between! Im super jealous! Congrats on all the finds and without a doubt you guys have the best metal detecting channel on yt currently. Ill be featuring you on my channel.
Thank you for the kind words and support! All the best
The Hoover Boys war was fought there, or an encampment. I would look for walls or possibly foxhole patterns. I feel it was the place of battle, and fallen troops left their mark with the coins fallen from their pockets
The South is full of colonial sites
Unbelievable ...Best Video on RUclips!!

I've been watching your videos for the past day or so and very much enjoying watching them I like how you guys have a friendship and how you get together to do metal detecting. I don't have one yet it's something that I've been thinking about for the past couple years but I'm getting very much encouraged I'm liking the Garrett AT keep them videos coming thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the support Anthony. Location is everything. It’s hard finding good places these days. Persistence is key. Good luck
