Love your videos! And I can relate, I've spent hours on one or two scriptures and sometimes feels like I didnt get far. I like what you said "no time in Gods word is wasted." One thing I'm learning is sometimes I love digging deeper on my own and exploring and figuring it out for myself rather than following the videos where the answer is given to me. It's a rewarding feeling to connect the pieces and be led by God on whatever it is I find and learn. And sometimes i just want to see another persons point of view. Either way, your content is perfect and I'm always learning something new and have grown closer to God because i do feel more interested now and i do feel excited to do it. Thank you ❤️

The way you decorate your bible actually reminds me of the illuminated bibles of the medeival era. Churches were beautiful and so were the bibles, missals and sacramentarys. Nothing wrong with making the pages of your bible look beautiful. Thank you for your work. Ot has helped me greatly.

I resisted doing bible journalling, colouring & dye cuts etc because my perfectionism would get in the way. Since I have found you. I have been praying about it, got a journal bible & started to do the notes. For me I wanted a bible that is a bible that is a reference book for God & me. A bible that I can read the notes & learn more about God & grow our relationship. I am thankful I found your RUclips because I am really being able to get into the word more, take notes that benefit me to grow with God. I am going to have this bible for a long time I think & look forward to seeing how it grows with me & I am excited.
Spent so much time on Genesis 6:6. That one just hit me like a brick wall when I read it and just kept journaling on it for a while that day. Definitely a verse that means a lot to me

6 hrs on 1 verse -- when I was a young believer, a member of a church whose pastor was a true scholar-- we did a Sunday night series on Judges. We lovingly called it " trudges through judges". FOUR YEARS on the book of Judges! I should go back and reread it. 😁♥️

For anyone jumping into this study of John with this video, John the Apostle "whom Jesus loved" is the writer. He is also the writer of 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and Revelation (which he wrote during the last stage of his life while he was exiled on the island of Patmos). He was also a cousin of Jesus. This passage (John 1:19-28) is about John the Baptist, who is also Jesus's cousin because his mother was Elizabeth, Jesus's mother Mary's cousin, and they were pregnant at the same time (Luke 1).
I have had the set for about 20 years....and I still go back to it. I have several commentaries, and his the most conversational....warm and easy but inspiring read.
Love J Verrnon McGee. My husband has all of his commentary books. An ol' soul for the faith, McGee tells it like it is. Sin is still sin in the 21st century, and McGee nails it; I'm glad he is not here to see our society today. But God is still Sovereign, still our eternal Hope and King of Kings.

Got a new journaling bible.I got some supplies.I've probably spent a total of a hundred and fifty dollars on everything and I have yet to journal.All i've done is take notes. I want to do is read it.. I haven't even written in the bible.I don't think i'm ready yet... Not that I think it's wrong or I don't want to I do want it to be beautiful because i'm artsy and crafty Anyway, I can't do things half hazardly... I want it to be the best that it can be... But right now, I just want to read it, and I want to know it... Baby steps.... I'll get to the creative part when it's time. And then when it's ready and I know he'll be with me in directing me on something, not only i'm proud of but he's proud of. just wanna read it. I can't wait to get started crafting, but I know I'll do it when it's ready.And when he tells me, i'm ready
I'm studying Romans. Each chapter is taking much longer than I expected. About two hours a day about 3-5 daysish a chapter. I would recommend Martin Luther and Martin Lloyd -Jones for commentary resources for Romans. Although warning Lloyd -Jones is a series of sermons but they are powerful and easy to read and understand.

Why you read commentary when you have the Holy spirit the main source. You open your self up to man opinions is dangerous and risky and can cost you alot
I'd we can't run from man's opinions! Because we have our own! Using commentaries from scholars that know the original languages much better than I (while not holding them as inerrant) is part of being a student of the Word and not thinking that I have all the answers. I am humble enough to know I can fall into heresy on my own, just like they could!
