Isnt it recommended that a hand screwdriver be used instead of a power one because of the softness of the wood?

Yes and no. Let me explain. Yes the wood is actually compressed not real wood. So you should be careful. Use a hand screw driver if your electrical screwdriver has no low level. In my case mine has from 1 to 19 levels which means i can screw as soft as a hand screwdriver
