Such a great movie.. never read the novel . But i can still say the novel was conceived beatifuly in to a film . Vanisri steals the show with her epic acting .ANR 's subtle acting was perfect for this movie.. movie could have been spoiled if he choose to overact like his conteporary actors used to do. Kudos to the makers of the movie .

The climax did not establish the characters personalities, but rather was shown abruptly reconciled, as thoug there was no time.
One of the best movie and a great novel. I saw this film after I finished my novel and it completely justifies the story. The way ANR Garu and Vanisri Garu perform their characters is just awesome. Excellent story and excellent characters.

It seems that the novel was first published during 1965. Within a short time, there were several reprints for it. The movie might have been produced during 1966. In such case, Haranath garu was the most suited person to play the hero's role in this movie.
With all due respect to Sobhan babu sir, I think he would have been apt for the role just because of his age.. But i doubt whether he would have to captured all the nuances of rajasekharam character so well played/underplayed by ANR..
