I dunno if I can explain this but you really make Skyrim seem large.Like a different world.Like the way you do it and how the mods come together.Honestly incredible work my friend.Keep it up please! :)
I normally watch ASMR videos for relaxation and it's not often that I actually experience ASMR (which is perfectly fine, it still feels really nice to watch them), but your voice in this pace and volume is a rare instance that I actually feel ASMR through pure audio without visual
Man I love the readings. I'm a BIG Skyrim player (console) but I rarely read the the books n lore of the world. So it's nice that I get back round story's of the things I already am familiar with plus a lil asmr to boot. Thank you!
My pleasure! I've read some of the in-game books, but there are just so many. There are lots I haven't read yet, so this is a great way for me to fill in my lore knowledge as well :)
A lot of people are saying they don't like the music but I love it! It makes me feel like I'm actually in the world of Skyrim and relaxes me even more. Don't cut it out! :c
I agree with you, I love the music, and I plan to keep including it. I might use it just a bit more sparingly in future though, and try to make the music choice more appropriate.
I love this series so much. Crazy to think Skyrim is almost 3 years old. I'm psyched to see what Bethesda will do with TES VI. Almost 3 years old and still possibly the most beautiful game to date.
I love the sound of the waterfall at the end of the previous and the start of this video. It's a very powerful sound to find relaxing, but I do regardless.
I've been playing this game for like a year now and always hated the Forsworn the most. I knew they were native american composites, but this video actually shed them in a more relatable light.
I'm a big fan of yours and I actually get excited when I get a alert on my phone that says theasmrnerd uploaded a video. You really make the best videos. This video is great but I personally prefer the commentary instead of the reading. I don't know why, maybe because there's a good blend of you talking, the nature sounds and the game music in comparison to you reading throughout the video. Anyway, still it's an awesome video and really appreciate that you take the time to make them.
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate that you've been watching this series for so long, and I value your opinion :). This was just an experiment, and I will likely return to the regular commentary style of wander for subsequent episodes. I may still include a book reading from time to time for the sake of variety, but I think I agree with you that the slower, more sparing commentary makes for better videos :)
Hey man I was wondering if you could do an asmr video that gives advice on how to get through tough times.. It's a weird request ik and ik your busy with work and stuff but your channel is quickly becoming my favorite channel for asmr. Anyway, thanks for everything man I really appreciate it!
Hey man, not a weird request at all, I think it's a really great one. Sometimes, words of guidance and encouragement can make all the difference when things are tough. You're right that I've been busy lately, this month is just kinda nuts, but I really appreciate your request and I'm going to make a special point of doing such a video as soon as I'm able.
Love it! Thanks for your amazing work in this channel. I was wondering if you had ever played Animal Crossing, because I think it will be a very well suited game for an ASMR video. My very best wishes for you and your loved ones.
Thanks for the kind words, as always :). I got Animal Crossing: New Leaf for 3DS as a gift a while ago, but I haven't actually tried it yet :P. I think you're probably right though, it'd make a good video. I'll include it as an option in this month's viewer's choice poll.
Hey Nick ive just finished a full watch through all of the skyrim wanders :D Any chance we could have one thats in a tomb or cave? Perhaps Red Eagled crypt *wink wink*!
Hmm, what an excellent idea! We're overdue for an interior wander, aren't we? I've got a few ideas for the next wander, and Red Eagle Redoubt is definitely among them :)
Thanks man! I have fun modding the game, making it pretty. I'm pretty much at the limits of what my GPU can manage right now. I'll be getting a new card later this year, probably when the GeForce 800 series comes out. I'll likely overhaul my Skyrim installation at that time, and try to make it even prettier :)
I really like these videos, but I was wondering if you could lower the volume of the background sound? Like the music and noises. You don't have to turn in down a lot, just a little bit so it isn't so in your face (or ear) all the time.
I found with the last few skyrim videos that I had the same issue. Sleeping wasn't easy when a bird was screeching at me and water sounded like raging feedback
Ah The Reach, my favourite hold in Skyrim and the atmospheric theme of The Reach is so wonderfully composed it sounds as though the music is reverberating off the craggy slopes around you and the fog in The Reach makes it all that more beautiful.
mods: (if your scrolling through the description and too lazy to open up the description) Project ENB by Bronze316 - Version 0.221 - Realistic Preset - Performance Option A - Blursharp Filter - Dynamic Bokeh DOF
Glad you enjoy them, and thanks for your suggestion! People seem to either love or hate mouth sounds; I get some people asking me for more, others asking for less. I try to keep my whispers kinda "neutral", not too many mouth sounds or too few.
Haha I feel ya. Every time I seriously mod my game, I feel like I'm haphazardly tacking things onto a rickety structure that just gets more and more unstable as I go. After 100+ mods, it seems amazing that it's running at all :P. I expect it to all come tumbling down any second. Sometimes it does, and then I start the whole process over again, trying to be more careful, but I inevitably end up in the same situation. Ah, PC gaming :P
228 mods >.> I recently discovered Skyrim on PC... same thing happened with Minecraft, dat none existent fps near any town or city. Screw playability! MOAR MODS!
Using the unofficial patches available on Skyrim Nexus can help stability, and I STRONGLY recommend using BOSS to automatically set your mod load order (or its offshoot, LOOT). Both are available on Nexus. SafetyLoad can also help if your game is hanging/crashing while loading. Lastly, check out ENBoost; even if you don't use an ENB, its memory manager can help improve stability. Good luck, and happy modding!
I'm definitely open to the idea. It doesn't lend itself to relaxation in the same way Skyrim does, and I'm not sure if people would be as interested now that the game is out. But I'll include it in this month's viewer's choice poll, and we'll see :)
That's been commonly requested, and I definitely will do a Blackreach wander eventually. However, I like to begin each episode where I ended the previous one, and I'm taking my time heading over in that direction. One day, though!
Thanks! I don't play LoL unfortunately; in fact, I'm not really into any mobas. The learning curve is pretty steep and the community is kinda prickly, so they take a lot of time to get into, and I've got so many games and so little time these days XD
Interesting suggestion! I'm not sure it'd be as relaxing, but I'll keep it in mind for future :). Maybe if Bethesda ever gets around to announcing Fallout 4....
fallout 4 isnt for awhile but there are many areas in fallout 3 and NV that are enemy free and relaxing:) unless the fact of everything being destroyed and ugly is not appealing haha
I like to start each wander where I ended the last one, so it's gonna take me a while to get over to Windhelm. But rest assured that we will go to Solstheim eventually :)
I figured some people would dislike the makeup video, and that's fine. It was a goofy one-off for April Fools. I had fun filming it, and it seems many people had fun watching it, and that's what counts. Glad you enjoyed this one though!
I'm afraid I don't. MOBAs in general are a genre I avoid, mostly because of the steep learning curve and hostile community. Mostly, I feel like the time investment required to become even remotely competitive is so far beyond what I can afford right now, that's it's not even worth trying. I understand the appeal of the genre, but for the time being it's not for me. Maybe that'll change when Blizzard puts out HotS, I hear that's gonna be more streamlined, accessible, and noob-friendly. We'll see!
Thanks for the feedback! It's always a tradeoff with the music. On one hand, it's absolutely beautiful, and can really heighten the atmosphere if used right. On the other hand, it can sometimes be distracting. I think some of my music choice was a bit off in this wander. I will continue to use it, but I'll try to make it more appropriate and subtle in future.
I think you should turn off the game Music, It's hard to listen to your voice on a high volume without it BLASTING MY EARS OUT LIKE A GOD DAMN FUS RO DAH
Thanks for the suggestion. As I mentioned to a previous commenter, the music is a double-edged blade. On one hand, it's absolutely beautiful, and I think appropriate use of it can really help enhance the atmosphere of the wander and heighten the emotional impact. On the other hand, if used inappropriately, it can be distracting and overbearing. I try to keep my music use subtle and quiet, but there are a couple of points in this wander where the music swells and it gets a bit too loud. I'm going to keep using music in my wanders, but I'll try to use it a bit more sparingly and appropriately in future.
Are you saying Skyrim's main story rips of ASOIAF? Insofar as they both have dragons, I suppose you're right? But I don't see many other significant similarities.
I dunno if I can explain this but you really make Skyrim seem large.Like a different world.Like the way you do it and how the mods come together.Honestly incredible work my friend.Keep it up please! :)
Thank you! Really glad you enjoy it. I strive to make the world feel as real and deep as I can :)
i love the atmosphere of this game its so damn nostalgic and the music is the best, makes me wanna play it again
I totally agree, the atmosphere and music are just so rich. Skyrim isn't just a game you like to play, it's a place you long to be.
***** soo true i always finding myself wanting to travel the beautiful landscapes again. i feel a reinstall coming up soon
Great video! Good idea to mix the book readings with the wanders. Really enjoyed it!
Such Lore!
Much Wow!
Many Books!
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it! I'll probably do a mixture of regular commentary and book readings in future wanders.
I normally watch ASMR videos for relaxation and it's not often that I actually experience ASMR (which is perfectly fine, it still feels really nice to watch them), but your voice in this pace and volume is a rare instance that I actually feel ASMR through pure audio without visual
I love the wanders when you go through caves or dungeons :)
Yeah, it's been a while since I've done one of those eh? I'll try to do one in the near future.
Awesome! Feeling very relaxed! I want to play skyrim now.... XD
Dooo it! Tamriel calls your :P
A lot of people are saying they don't like the music but I love it! It makes me feel like I'm actually in the world of Skyrim and relaxes me even more. Don't cut it out! :c

By far my favorite series from you. Thank you so much
Glad you enjoy the series, I have fun making these ones :)
I love this series so much. Crazy to think Skyrim is almost 3 years old. I'm psyched to see what Bethesda will do with TES VI. Almost 3 years old and still possibly the most beautiful game to date.
PringlesFTW no elder scrolls six yet ;(
I love the sound of the waterfall at the end of the previous and the start of this video. It's a very powerful sound to find relaxing, but I do regardless.
I love the sound of waterfalls too ^^
really love the effects all the mods you added gives, great vid
It took a while to find the right mix of mods, but I'm pretty happy with how it looks :) Now if only it ran a little better :P
Gotta love those graphics, miss playing skyrim so much but thanks to you it makes up for it! Thanks buddy
Mods can do some amazing things for Skyrim's graphics. Glad you can get your Skyrim fix from these vids, even if you can't play yourself :)
FINALLY :D I've literally been craving this video:P thanks so much! You did a great job on it! Keep it up PLEASE!!!!
This is fantastic! I love the books in Skyrim.
I've been playing this game for like a year now and always hated the Forsworn the most. I knew they were native american composites, but this video actually shed them in a more relatable light.
FINALLY! I have been waiting so long for this:D great job keep up the amazing work please! And thank you for the RUclips advice!
My pleasure! I hope some of it is useful :)

if Skyrim was this peaceful I would play it during stressful days
Once again a joy to experience thanks a lot Nick :D
Wasn't sure if people would dig the reading vs. the commentary I normally do, but I'm glad you liked it :)
Please please PLEASE play more! This is the only thing getting me to sleep lately!
I should have a new Skyrim wander up next week :)
Yay thank you!
Gold every time. In my opinion I wouldn't change a thing.
Thanks for the vote of confidence mate! Working on a new Skyrim wander this weekend :)
Hey man I was wondering if you could do an asmr video that gives advice on how to get through tough times.. It's a weird request ik and ik your busy with work and stuff but your channel is quickly becoming my favorite channel for asmr. Anyway, thanks for everything man I really appreciate it!

Another great video :) Btw the graphics for your skyrim are insane.

letmehealyou I couldn't stop laughing when you said the bird was "screeching" at you! Oh, god, that was hilarious! XD
Great as always. Unfortunate to say...I was awake for half of it :P
That sounds just about right, relaxation is the goal after all :)
Ah The Reach, my favourite hold in Skyrim and the atmospheric theme of The Reach is so wonderfully composed it sounds as though the music is reverberating off the craggy slopes around you and the fog in The Reach makes it all that more beautiful.
Wow man! This is wonderful!

i love these videos so much :) just next time you record one try turning up the sensitivity of you mic, so it picks up more of the subtle mouth sounds
Glad you enjoy them, and thanks for your suggestion! People seem to either love or hate mouth sounds; I get some people asking me for more, others asking for less. I try to keep my whispers kinda "neutral", not too many mouth sounds or too few.
What visual mods are you using?
Love your videos as always man but how do you get your Skyrim scenery so beautiful is it a mod or.....what?
Many mods, actually! Check the video description for a list with links :)
***** Thanks and as always keep up the good work
Dr. Jonathan Osterman Thanks mate!
Oh this makes me want to play Skyrim again. Overloaded my game with mods so it crashes every 5 minutes :c
Haha I feel ya. Every time I seriously mod my game, I feel like I'm haphazardly tacking things onto a rickety structure that just gets more and more unstable as I go. After 100+ mods, it seems amazing that it's running at all :P. I expect it to all come tumbling down any second. Any chance of a second visit to ESO? Another quality vid by the way, thanks so much for your content.

Thank goodness an actual video from you again. No more make up crap. That was lame.
That video was an April Fools joke and it was actually pretty hilarious.
I figured some people would dislike the makeup video, and that's fine. It was a goofy one-off for April Fools. I had fun filming it, and it seems many people had fun watching it, and that's what counts. Glad you enjoyed this one though!
Glad you thought so, it was very silly and I had fun filming it :)
+theASMRnerd Remember me when you hit 40,000!
I will carry your name in my heart always, Mr. Whopopotis.
***** Thanks soo much. (a lot of people can't actually pronounce my name lol :) )
Not sure I could either, TBH :P
lol :)
Do you play LoL/Dota 2? Nice video btw!
I'm afraid I don't. MOBAs in general are a genre I avoid, mostly because of the steep learning curve and hostile community.
