Steve H was THE Placebo drummer. He had those Jimmy Chamberlin-esque jazzy inflections (best heard in their full band acoustic gigs, eg. MCM Cafe 2001) that added an air of sophistication to the drums, in what is not really a drum-centric band. I see comments elsewhere that people don't like the way Steve "changes the drums" live...well I do, he's improvising and as a live drummer I can tell you that being able to play what you feel in the moment, and have it still fit within the context of the song, is THE best way to get through playing the same songs every night.
The drums are amazing in that version of an AMAZING song
