"I will defend my family until the day I die". yes, definitely agree. but its also okay to admit that your family was disrespectful and out of line on national television. just because people are your family doesnt give them the right to disrespect you or someone you "love". peter seems like someone who will never call people out for shit and will just make up excuses to defend them
Madison was also disrespectful making his family that traveled across the world to meet her wait for 3hrs with no apology. And at after the final rose she STILL wouldn’t take responsibility for being rude (while giving snarky facials and remarks). If I was a mom why would I want someone to marry my son if they tell me themselves they don’t love him. Barbs approach was awful but she was right. People need to chill out. No one was murdered.
@@braydentheslayer It wasn't Madison's fault that they waited for 3 hours, it was all production. And even if it wasn't, madison AND peter were having a serious discussion so wouldn't it be on him as well? I feel Barb wanted to protect her son and she did in a completely wrong way. She is too involved in his love life and it shows.
Stephanie lol Peter admitted it himself twice in the past 48hrs. He was trying to convince her to come inside because SHE felt she was in a bad head space. That is why it took so long. He was trying to convince his potential fiancé to meet his family. She should’ve been eliminated at that moment. Madison is not a saint.

Lots of adults are close to their parents, but if Peter wants a successful relationship with a wife he will need to be willing to have some boundaries with his Mother.
That is a very ignorant and rude statement to make.
Ignorant because:
1- if u note the past, with Hannah B, with Madi at the vow renewal, or with Peter's brothers girlfriend, Barbara is actually really supportive & warm.
2- Not every culture & family structure in the world needs to follow the American way of life. There are Asian cultures, Latino cultures where it's not about choosing between ur mom n girlfriend/wife. It's about having both these women.
Your statement is rude because :
1- you r forming an opinion about this mother-son duo after watching 10-20minutes in a show.
2- You are essentially passing a judgement about how a family will function.

If Peter had a good enough connection with any of the girls.... there isn't a dang thing his mother could've said that could've gotten in the way. Period. We can't blame a Barbara.
Also, my mother would've done the same for me. (The Webers saw things behind the scenes that we didn't get to see)
PALLABI DEY I see I see your opinion here my problem:
Peter is a grown man looking to have build a relationship with his wife and relying on a lot of his families opinions for emotional support during the time on the show. There are a lot of different cultures that function differently totally get that. But... what is not being talked about a lot with peters situation is the psychological aspect that deeply disturbs me and actually makes me see Peter an unfit contestant for the bachelor franchise. Here’s why: (not beating on barb) but if you take a look or memory at all of peters past relationships or the girls he favored the most they were all emotional WRECKS. Victoria P, (manipulative) Victoria F (manipulative), I love her) But, Hannah b (indecisive and really chose Peter LAST out of all the guys she had on the show and still tried to distract him from his season of the bachelor).
Now, to reference someone with more educational background than me you have Dr. Drew who for years and years and years has signified the emotional and psychological impacts that mothers have on their children. From emotional well being to physical well being. Yeah we may have seen only 10-20 min of barb throughout the show but I don’t need a whole season on the bitch to see that she is a manipulative mother who uses her emotional connection with her son to sway him in her belief as to which woman would be best for her son. (FAKE tears). Who knows maybe barb was right about Madi & Peter about not being able work out. One thing is for sure is Madi was the only one that did not fit peters typical pick of woman. She was healthy and emotionally stable- and peters mother saw that she would not be able to control Madi and conform her to her lifestyle (which is why barb was so adamant about Peter and Madi not changing each other). Speaking on barbs favorite: Hannah Ann... who reminded barb “of a young version of her and her husband” - now that statement is a direct correlation to her selfish belief that Hannah Ann and Peter would be the best choice because it was comfortable because it’s what she would have chosen.
Barb emotional bashed her son and his past girlfriend Madi on the live shows. I’m not saying you have to support your sons decisions no matter what but there is something to be said about people who do not- remembering the fact that Peter is the one who would of had to spend his entire life with her NOT barb and I get it they’re close maybe even really close.. but not close enough for barb to fight for peters happiness even if it meant having to changing her perceptions about someone that her son was in love with.
So if you’d like to give anyone a long outlandish and totally ridiculous statement about how others don’t understand then you can give it to me because no matter what you tell me I’m not going to believe that barb wanted peters true happiness. Cause if she did then it wouldn’t matter to her if she had one fucking finger nail or if she was a virgin with good fucking morals. Makes no sense. Get out of here. Lmao

Peters mom.. I don’t think she needs to be like oh yeah I love her when she doesn’t... but the eye rolling and the snarky comments towards Madison is what people didn’t like... it wasn’t concern it was hatred for Madison lol. And it was childish as fuck not something I would ever look up to

I agree with you! Her feelings towards Madison and Hannah Ann were like night and day. It was clear she already decided not to like Madison based off comments made by Peter. Also HA went first and charmed them (not a bad thing!), so they were comparing the two whether his family admits it or not. Barb has good points and I know peter said the delivery could have been better (obviously!), but he should have admitted the wrong doing and how it was rude to Madison. Also I know having to wait 3 hours is long and he said that was true, BUT he continued the conversation. I don't know why there was such a hang up on having to wait. In hindsight madison should have gone in earlier, but we dont know the conversation they were having. I am still so frustrated by the Barb defense. Who acts like that all in the name of "love"?

I know I hate when he does this but I think it happens when the person can't spit anything out. But I tend to think it would be better to let there be dead air to show how incapable some of these guests are.
I absolutely love how honest Peter is in this interview. He wanted to clear the air. Nick was right its only 30 people. You walk into the bar and you see 30 people and with such a short amount of time and intense pressure to make an engagement work. He's a good guy who just needed a little more time to make decision.
Funny how Nick will excuse all of Peter’s actions yet hate on Hannah Brown for every little thing she does.

Madison hadnt made known her moral beliefs at the time.... Parents felt she gave Peter an ultimatum and that she was manipulative. I feel Madison should have made known how she felt much sooner, or she should not have even gone on the show with the way she felt

@@evonnevanderhoek9901 whenever people say that Madison shouldn't have been on the show with her religious beliefs a few things come to mind. Peter went to a Christian high-school and expressed that he wanted to go back to being more religious. The bachelor show doesn't encourage nor discourage sex. Sex isn't necessary for over night suites just an option if the person so chooses. The one book the bachelor show allows contestants is the Bible.
Peter was a terrible bachelor, but I think is probably a genuinely nice dude. I do feel for him for all of the hate, but that's what he signed up for.

Peter lives with Kelley for 3 weeks: “we’re taking it slow” lol
shann0n taking it slow means not having sex. Taking it slow means having strong boundaries. You can still live in the same household and have attraction but the dangerous part is having sex with someone you barely know part because once you cross that line you’re basing that relationship in the physical, building a house built on sand and then it sinks. Hannah Anne did that, she barely knew Peter and really she blindsided herself. The Bachelor isn’t a healthy model for making healthy relationships. That show finds people who have a very weak grasp of who they are and ultimately they develop relationship addictions. Kelley and Madison are the strongest out that bunch. If Peter and Kelley did end up together. I can see why. Peter even said so, he needs. Woman who can challenge him. Hannah Anne giving free axe, after three dates of dating isn’t challenging. Challenging is putting Peter in his place, building strong boundaries, spending time but also knowing when Peter becomes too dependent. Kelley has her own life and she wants peter to have his own life: Hannah Anne is a great girl but she needs time to grow.
You have every right to your ideas. But you are just a as human as peter and you’ve made mistakes and I’m sure you’ve become a better person for it.

2 things I wished they discussed: What was the talk with his family like after their comments on AFR and his breakup with Madison? Was it like an "I told you so" or "I'm sorry". Also, I wanted to know what happened with Victoria F because the whole cheating scandal was handled and discussed off camera for some reason.

Incredibly proud of Peter. Regardless of what others seem to think, I think Peter has shown on countless occasions that he is a stand up man. Emotions are incredibly difficult to navigate through, and every one handles them different [not sure why people can’t seem to understand that] so I would never look at Peter as less of a man because he struggled on that end. Making tough decisions also isn’t easy for most people, and that too I wouldn’t deem him less of a man for that either. Maybe it’s just because I have endured MANY situations with relationships where my partner was scummy, or abusive, or sneaky and showed true reasons why they were not a real man.. but to see a man be so honest with things including going to H.A about the idea of speaking to Hannah Brown before he actually did it, is a breath of fresh air and massively show’s what a real man should do. He takes ownership, doesn’t make excuses while explaining his side, and I would be happy as hell to finally meet a man like that even if things didn’t work out. I would have respect for him being honest with me instead of dragging things out door a very very long time.
Oh. That explains the relationship with Kelly. Barb approves. That’s all that matters to Peter. And it’s bullshit when he says his mom didn’t influence the split with Maddie.
Right! Maybe she wasn't there when they broke up, but her actions most certainly influenced the break up.

I still think Barb targeting Madison on live TV and putting her son's relationship under fire was a huge no-no. She may have been right, but she acted awfully and viciously. That being said, I don't think this process was right for Peter, and he had no skill with navigating drama and separating sincerity from bullshit. Madison and Hannah Ann didn't deserve it. I still think he's a nice guy though, he just has some growing up to do. I do hope him and Kelley make it work. She seems great (if not too great) for him.
Totally agree! And while Peter and Madison weren't compatible, I will never understand why his parents couldn't just let them figure that out on their own like the adults that they are. Barb was going to do everything in her power to make sure they didn't work.
I still think Barb did that on purpose to make herself the villain to protect her son. She knew they had broken up or saw the writing on the wall. She gave Peter a great out. At 34 minutes, I’m getting flashbacks of the most heart wrenching breakup of my life 💔 It really is just hours and hours of being on this emotional roller coaster. It’s intense! Those type of breakups don’t usually manifest unless you’re with the person for years. For Peter and Madison to have experienced that, Nicks right, you can’t really question the authenticity of their relationship.

I think we're giving Peter too much leniency because we think he's fragile. Imagine Kaitlyn and Shawn were on stage and one of Kaitlyn's parents started going after Shawn and insulting him. She would cut them off immediately (because she's an adult with a healthy relationship with her parents) and say they need to do this off-camera. I'm not saying Peter needed to cut her off immediately, but he needed to do something other than sit there and wait for Barb to finish her monologue and then allow Madison to defend herself, then plead for his mom to give Madison a chance.
I dont think hes ever learned how to stand up for himself, especially regarding his mom's behavior towards him
Let’s get honest peter. She was at your parents house for 3 hours early on in the show. The whole nation had to watch their vow renewals talk about an ego trip. She’s shoving cake in Madison’s mouth and in the picture right next to his mother then peter and his brother. She acted like she never met Madison and spent 3 hours waiting

@Savvi C & Brayden all the opinions regarding shows like this don't actually matter but talking about the show is huge. Obviously that's why there are so many successful pod casts just like this one. In this bachelor world the mothers behavior was a major incident. Obviously none of the "drama" on any of these bachelor shows is that big of a deal compared to real world problems. Lastly, I do feel the way Peter's mother treated him seemed very unhealthy even for the real world.

The way Rochelle said "Ohhh" at 12:45 was like a teacher when the student finally is on track to the right answer, and the teacher's been waiting like 15 minutes knowing the answer the whole time, but they're still going to let the kid explain their process. She was like "Oh honey, I'm so glad you finally came to the correct conclusion that I may or may not have known this whole time." She did everything but sip her tea, and write in her notebook, 'the student shows growth'.
I think Kelly was annoyed with the process of the show and therefore “checked out” and made it obvious when she said “I’ll just be here taking a nap” and so wasn’t coming across emotionally invested and that’s why Peter let her go

Exactly, that's BS. She caused it!?? No a real man should've apologized to his family and let them know he needed some time with her as they didn't get that time to discuss. It doesn't matter if she caused it! It takes 2 to make a relationship work. So if one needs to further discuss important issues, that's should be considered important for both, especially at a moment they needed to make a decision. Barb was just disrespectful, which put Madison on the defensive end. This man definitely wasn't ready for a relationship. That's disrespectful. First of all why did she even show up to the house if she didnt want to meet them? Why waste their time? The truth is it's only weird or disrespectful because she did it on TV. She didnt say anything out of the ordinary from a concerned mom. Barb was all very excited to visit the mansion, have their vows renewal on tv and had repeated several times how much they all had been wanting to get in the bachelor mansion for years...When things were great, she enjoyed this. Now that things took another turn they couldn't bear the production details!!?? Chris Harrison said it loud and clear that production made Peter and Madison late for the meeting with Peter's parents. Chris reiterated saying that Barb shouldn't have blamed Madison for this. So there was no such 3h-conversation of Peter trying to convince Madison. They had some time for their discussion but they went with whatever the producers had on schedule for the show. I can see that coming across as Madi being responsible for that but nope! Yes this whole thing is real life on tv, except that production didn't think Barb will jump on Madi on details that had nothing to do with that girl. Madison would've been a bachelorette if she wanted too, the producers like her and that counts a lot in picking the candidates. I am not here to advocate for her but we all know Peter dug his own pit, Madison was just the challenge he needed to be finally shaken up (Even Kelly couldn't do that yet they're still spending the quarantine together). Madison's parents did a great job in my opinion, I do not care what she becomes but it's good to notice some qualities in some young women. I'd say there were bunch of of women who went on the show for social media boosts and the possibility to become the bachelorette so who cares!? It's not my thing but Madison was admittedly 1 of the very few mature ones on the show; this season was full of childish girls. The producers didn't do a good job on this neither. But each show has an end, so be it! Barb can blame her culture or right as a mother, but she certainly was disrespectful. I just wish she could inject some of her essence in her indecisive son though; it would've surely helped him a lot! That's what he needed, not her show on his last show. Peter definitely wouldn't have proposed to Hannah hadn't it been from her pressure. Peter is a grown up man, he could've made his own choice. But because she molded him into a mama boy, she was disgusted to notice her son making other decisions (it doesn't matter if it's right or wrong) and took it on the girl, that was the first major issue. She could've come from her mother's good intention but her overall attitude, acts and words displayed more of a tantrum than maturity. I still wish them all well. The dude will hopefully grow while now living away from his parents (I'm sure they'll still stay close)!

I made a video about Peter’s end to his season on my channel. He’s a nice guy, but he is EXTREMELY emotionally stunted and immature, and romanticizes drama and difficulty in his relationships. Which is fine... when you’re in high school. He’a 28 and needs to grow up. I hope this experience has allowed him to gain some perspective, which it appears he has based on this interview! I have a similar lifestyle to Madi's due to faith as well and I respect her path and decision but I would never go on the bachelor...I feel somehow it's opening a large can of worms & asking for trouble

In christianity the man is supposed to be the "head" and the wife is supposed to be "submissive" to her head. Her head is her husband and her husband's head is Christ. Just explaining what that upbringing is like.
You know what? I am a massive fan of Peter. How he handled things post-show has just solidified that. Owning up to everything and facing all of it head-on, whilst you know that you've had good intentions must be difficult. Sending love to everyone.

The way Peter said at 22:49, that, on-stage, he was in the wrong and the "bad guy", b/c they didn't have time to explain the situation, is what makes me hate "nice guys." He essentially just said that he was fine playing the role, but he was also truly being disingenuous in that moment by agreeing with her. That was not even what he believed. I would've preferred him to simply tell the truth and his side, and speak his mind instead of sitting there and pretending to take all the blame. I picked up on it in the live show, because he kept saying "You're right" to everything, and seemed to be trying to make people feel bad for him as "the bad guy."

I really don't understand the "[Barb] didn't give a f*ck and you have to respect that" bit. No you don't, you don't have to respect people being disrespectful because they are "honest". Honesty and bluntness are two very different things and walking all over people with your feelings because "you're being honest" is not something to be proud of. I feel like people acquaint being polite and having a diplomatic approach to conflict as a sign of weakness and that's sad. The fact that Peter is still defending his mother and excusing her behavior because of the (pretended good) intentions behind her words is a shame.

I’m so glad he did this interview with nick. AFR really tainted the whole season to me and at the end I really felt bad for everyone that was in the situation. After hearing this it seems like people have moved on and everyone is in a better place. Also Kelley was my favorite on the show so I’m so glad that they seem happy.
I definitely understand Peter in wanting/needing closure with Hannah Brown, because we all need closure sometimes and that's just due to us being human, but at the same time I understand Hannah Ann's frustration, especially with him using phrases like "When the conversation with Hannah Brown ended, things weren't definite." because it makes it seem like he's forgotten that he was engaged, which is definite.

WHOA WHOA WHOA, After the Final Rose was on March 10th, Nick Viall met Kelley (and took that picture where he wrote “she’s not with peter”) the next day on March 11th-he posted it on March 12th but it was from the night before. Him and Madi supposedly broke up March 12th and it took “six hours”, so probably lasted until the after noon unless they started the breakup at 6am lol, whereas Kelley was being weird about Nick posting that pic on the 12th in the morning and it made Nick feel like maybe there was something going on. Peter didn’t refute it in this podcast. That means either his relationship with Madi was fake on both ends or just his end, and he was talking with Kelley romantically.

This is why I hated that Madi was not honest from the beginning. She gave him this ultimatum with no explanation. When someone saves themself for marriage, that is a huge lifestyle choice. Not everyone want to go down that road. That's why you have to be honest and let the other person decide. I mean, Peter keeps saying "I hurt her." Imagine how hurt Peter would have been if he had followed her ultimatum, didnt hook up with anyone and left the other girls. And then she ends with "suprise, I am saving myself for marriage and will not be with you during the nighttime until we are married."

I’ve always loved Peter, I could tell from the beginning that this was sooo hard for him. Almost every episode he would say “I really believe this can work!” Almost like he was trying to convince himself. I felt soooo horrible for him doing the live after show. Peter we love you!! I’ve had guys who wanted me to sleep over, we’d be hanging till five in the morning no sex and I’d force them to drive me home 20 miles away. They still did it. It’s boundaries.
