AirBaltic is replacing all their dash 8's with bombardier cs300's and 100's. And boeings as well. The cs300 is truly an amazing piece of engineering. My favorite plane by a long shot.

Bombardier is out of the commercial aviation. dehavilland.com/en (deHavilland Canada of today is technically different company from the de Havilland who developped the Dash-8, but Bombardeir sold the rights to the deHavilland name to Longview Aviation who then recreated deHavilland Canada).

In all my videos I use the sound from the camera that shot the video, only in time lapse shots the sound is not accelerated, so some sounds may be shifted. However, shots in normal speed (non time lapsed) are with real sound!

Pete Brandy yeah flying with wide-bodies is much comfortable, but when I can see this gear down and this spinning engine in turboprop, I would say, that I like more turboprops:D

After they will finish a fleet replacement and discard their old 737 classic, they will be one of the best low-cost in EU, I think.

Tim jsem letos letěl, když jsme vzlítali z Prahy tak to mělo takovou akceleraci že mě to uplně zamáčklo do sedadla, to bylo fakt hustý. Na zpáteční cestě už takhle nestartoval, škoda. :-) Měli jste tam taky ten šílenej obrat nad mořem u Jurmaly? Tam jsme uplně mířili oknama do moře že jsme viděli jak se tam lidi koupou. :-) Seděl jsem taky přesně vedle motoru.
Já akceleraci ani klopení nezažil, tos měl kliku, můj let byl úplně uneventful, i na cestě zpět z Rigy s A220 :-) Krom jednoho propadu v Hong Kongu a málem vyjetí z dráhy v Lisabonu jsem měl letos samé nezáživné lety :-D
Tak asi tak 90% letu byla hrozná nuda a při přistání jsem se trochu bál, protože jsem letěl poprvé, ale jinak to vzlítnutí v Praze bylo fakt luxusní, to byla akcelerace jak na horský dráze a ten prudkej obrat u Rigy byl pro některý lidi docela dost síla, já si to hrozně užíval. Tam je dobrý že když to spadne tak to máš rychle za sebou takže nemá smysl se tim znervózňovat. :-) Ono to letiště v Rize má dráhu kolmo ke směru letu z Prahy, takže to tam musí udělat takovej obrat aby to na tu ranvej naletělo, ale asi to záleží na tom kde to zrovna přistává.

In some of your trip reports, why can I hear an unusual sound during taxiing, or sometimes, takeoff in the Q400?

Yes, their 737s ate continuously retiring and Q400s will be returned to the lessor when the lease ends in 2022-23

Cant believe how early the landing gear came down, before you'd got into the clouds...
Maybe the pilot wanted to use the landing gear as an aerodynamic brake to slow down the speed of the aircraft..

Sometimes the landing gear is used to reduce the speed, so it may have been down earlier.

Can the overhead luggage bin of dash 8 400 fit a suitecase of 55cm long ? I'am planing to travel with air baltic
I have suitcase 50x40x20 and it fit to overhead bin on Q400, but the luggage must be turned lengthwise.
