      É uma pena não haver a tradução do alemão para o português porque a tradução não corresponde bem do inglês p o português.Mas a musica é linda.

      There's a great book : The Book of Lieder: 1000 of the greatest chosen and translated by Richard Stokes : published 2005 : FABER AND FABER. London. The original text faces the translation. and there are biographical sketches of the composers and the poets. Superb.

    FiDiTanzer528. Your video is beautiful and is perfect with this lied, one of the most sublime of Schubert's lieder. The poetry is so sensitive and human, it makes me weep. Fischer-Dieskau's singing of course goes straight to the heart. In my opinion, he stands above all others in this interpretation and technique as he is accompanied deservedly so by the great Gerald Moore. Thank you for your effort, it's beautiful and you have made a lot of people happy.

    Nacht und Träume
    Heil'ge Nacht, du sinkest nieder;
    Nieder wallen auch die Träume
    Wie dein Mondlicht durch die Räume,
    Durch der Menschen stille Brust.
    Die belauschen sie mit Lust;
    Rufen, wenn der Tag erwacht:
    Kehre wieder, holde Nacht!
    Holde Träume, kehret wieder!
    Matthäus Kasimir von Collin (1779-1824)
    Night and dreams
    Holy night, you sink down;
    Dreams also float down
    As your moonlight fills the room,
    Fills the sleeping hearts of men.
    They listen with pleasure;
    Crying, when the day awakes:
    Return, fair night!
    Fair dreams, return!
    Matthäus Kasimir von Collin (1779-1824)
    Noche y Sueños
    Santa noche que profundizo
    cuando navego en descenso libre;
    cuando la luna llena mi habitación,
    Cubre los corazones de los que duermen
    y escuchan con placer;
    después de dia en que se llora despierto
    Noche justa
    cunado los buenos sueños regresan
    Matthäus Kasimir von Collin (1779-1824)

      Hola Cuauh. ¿Eres Cuauhtemoc? somos paisanos entonces...
      Adivino que la traducción al español es del google translate, porque no es muy precisa. Sería algo más parecido a:
      "Noche sagrada, tú desciendes/
      los sueños bajan también, flotando/
      la luz de la luna llena la habitación/
      y llena los corazones durmientes de los hombres/
      ellos escuchan con placer/
      clamando cuando despierta el día:/
      ¡Regresa, bella noche!/
      ¡Bellos sueños, regresen!
      Creo que es especialmente importante porque en efecto "fair" puede querer decir "justo", pero también como "bello", y en tu traducción el final se entiende como un momento de justa recompensa en el que se recupera lo perdido, y en cambio el original tiene más bien una sensación anhelante, triste por la pérdida de la bella noche y los bellos sueños, ¡qué injusto!- como ves son dos sensaciones completamente opuestas
      para palabras sueltas google puede traducir bien a veces, pero un texto entero se desarticula por completo, el significado cambia.

      "Corazones durmientes" se parece más al inglés, en alemán en realidad dice "Pechos tranquilos" o "en paz"

    In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
    Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
    That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
    Job 33:15-17
    Ah, beautiful sleep, when ancient and modern man sips of eternity in an instant!
